On the other hand, 40% of the African-American sequences have no match among the nearly 4000 sequences taken from continental Africa. That's astounding to me, just from the standpoint of sampling.
this is very interesting considering there is a large disagreement concerning all black american coming from africa as slaves or whatever during thoses time.

the issue comes from people claiming that there were "black" americans here in america before the africans came and these "black" americans had been here for eons; they were one of the native groups inhabiting this lands way before columbus.

two peoples (that i know of) supporting this stance is the moors and the washitaw empire who were supposedly the ones who built the many "mounds" found on this continent.

anyone know more concerning this subject please add!!

Yes,many if not mostof the so called blacks(Moors)in the west were already here before columbus or any european set foot here.Maybe this is why the current census still classifies us as ''negro'' as to not have to recognize our indiginous rights.:

IT IS A FACT THAT THE FIRST SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE EXPLORERS FOUND COLONIES OF BLACK MEN ON THE EASTERN COAST OF SOUTH AND CENTRAL AMERICA, AND IN YUCATAN AND NICARAGUA.....THIS AFRICAN RELIGIOUS INFLUENCE HAD A PROFOUND EFFECT ON THE MAYAN PEOPLE; AND THEIR DESCENDANTS STILL CHERISH THE OLD TRADITIONS, EVEN TO THE PRESENT DAY.

THE CONNECTION ANCIENT NAGUALISM HAS TO THE BLACK INDIANS SPIRITS THAT DEFINE THE CHANGANI NTOTO LINE OF PALO KONGO WORSHIP BECOMES QUITE APPARENT WHEN WE TAKE INTO ACCOUNT WHAT THE EARLY WHITE EXPLORERS HAD TO SAY ABOUT SOME OF THE NATIVES THEY CAME ACROSS IN CENTRAL AMERICA. IN RECENT TIMES THE DISCOVERY OF ANCIENT AFRICAN SKULLS IN MEXICO AND THE CARIBBEAN THAT SUGGEST THAT EGYPTIANS AND WEST AFRICANS COLONIZED THE AMERICAS LONG BEFORE THE COMING OF COLUMBUS. THE SKULLS OF THESE PRE-COLUMBIAN BLACKS PROVE THAT COLUMBUS AND A HAND FULL OF OTHER EARLY WHITE EXPLORERS LEFT US WITH A VERY ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF THE CENTRAL AMERICAN NATIVES THEY BELIEVED WERE WEST AFRICANS AND MOORS FROM AL-ANDALUS. THE WHITE MAN WAS AWARE OF THE WEST AFRICANS AND MOABITE MOORS THAT RULED THE ANCIENT AMERICAS LONG BEFORE THE BLACK CHEROKEE PROPHET NOBLE DREW ALI CAME AND PREACHED THIS SURPRESSED PIECE OF NATIVE AMERICAN HISTORY TO THOUSANDS OF DISPLACED BLACK INDIANS AND MOORS OF AMERICA THAT ARE SUPPOSE TO BE PROTECTED UNDER THE MOROCCAN TREATY OF 1787. TAKE FOR EXAMPLE THE WORDS OF FERDINAND COLUMBUS, ONE OF THE FOUR SONS OF CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS. IN HIS JOURNEL FERDINAND STATEDD THAT HIS FATHER HAD SEEN NEGROES NORTH OF HONDURAS. ALSO, THERE IS THE TESTIMONY OF BALBOA. WHILE COMING DOWN THE SLOPES OF QUAREQUA, WHICH IS NOW PART OF PANAMA, BALBOA SAW A NEGROE THAT HAS BEEN CAPTURED BY THE MONGOLIAN INDIANS. BALBOA QUESTION THE NATIVES ABOUT THIS NEGROE PRISONER. HE LEARNED FROM THE NATIVES HE QUESTIONED THAT THE MONGOLIAN INDIANS WERE FIGHTING A WAR IN PANAMA WITH THESE BLACK AFRICANS. THE NATIVES ALSO TOLD BALBOA THAT BLACK AFRICANS LIVED IN A VERY LARGE SETTLEMENT THAT WAS NOT TOO FAR AWAY

Thanks for the information PEACE, you never fail us. I was trying to find out where I can prove that we have been here all along. I knew there was more to the history besides the our downfall through slavery.
Do you know about the "blacks" in the holocaust?

thanks for the info peace. it seems as if we are going to have to rewrite OURstory if we ever want to come to the truth.

i know i have african ancestors on my moms side because my great, great grandma (great grandfathers mother) was a slave. my great grandma didn't have any slaves in her ancestry.

i heard of another person who searched his families history and he had no slaves on either of his parents lineage.

when the truth finally comes out it is going to be well above shocking.

Amazing, I just joined an African American Student Association at my school and they are going to help us to find our family background. I am so excited about it, I dont anything really; when I finally wanted to know it was to late and my great grandmother died 2 or 3 years ago at 90yrs old.
Do you think you have any Native American ancestry? Also do you have Creole in your family---I am just asking I really love Louisana. I have never been but they have some of most beautiful African Americans and that southern dialect is alluring.

in not originally from louisiana. im not sure about the native blood. i got to study my grandmas mothers' side of the family for my grandma stated twice that her mother had not slave ancestry but i know my great granddad did.

my fathers side is going to be the hardest because of deaths. there is literally no one to talk to and get info from so for now i am focusing on my moms side.

africans were originally matriachal; it only makes sense to go by the mothers lineage.

its sad your grandma passed before you could get the info. did she have any siblings? right now, im getting all my info from my grandmothers brother.

good luck with college and your quest to discover your lineage.

There were no black people in America before Columbus. There is no proof to say otherwise. All this "Moorish" BS is a JOKE. The "Moors" are a CULT and know nothing of science.

The mounds of the Ohio Valley have been studied and it was determined that they were built by the ancestors of the SHAWNEE... the same Shawnee who are around today. Not black...

If you are black American and you can trace back to non-slaves, that is simply because there were many free blacks, including in the north in colonial times, so guess what, there were Africans here who were not slaves! That doesn't mean they were "Moors" or were here before Columbus! LOL!!!

Now, there WERE Moors on Columbus' ships...

Anyone claiming Africans built ANYTHING on this continent before Columbus is a culture-vulture racist stealing Native American heritage! So shut your damned mouth and keep your nightmares to yourself!

Thank you very much Dragonpat. I am not sure if she still has siblings living or not. I will have to remind myself to bug my mother about that one.
I think I may go by my mother's side as well, although it is going to be a bit tragic. My great grandmother's husband was not the "nicest" person in the world. I know he was Native American; and my grandmother is Native American and African (as far as I know, my grandmother told me French-European too).

very interesting information. i was thinking about the results of the test the lady in the article performed and found that 40% of african americans had no direct lineage from africa. so where is their lineage from? it ain't europe but the article does not get into where the lineage may have come from.
im not surprised that such a vast number of us are NOT from africa but what i don't understand is why the ones who are not don't know about their native heritage; why didn't their/our foremothers and forefathers who were native not teach their children about who they really were?
Amazing! That verifies the fact that nearly half of us AA's don't come from Africa and are descended from the real black NA's who were indigenous to the continent. I know that I'm Shoshone Indian on my Mom's side of the family and my grandmother is unmixed black Shoshone, but I agree why our ancestors never taught us that.

i know we have seminoles on our mothers side of the family, haven't learned much about them though.

i am wondering that as they tend to study the dna of more and more african americans will even be a larger percentage of us with native american geneology? according to the article, the samples they have studied so far is like 40% percent non-african lineage.

that is an incredibly surprising percentage!

Yes, yes. Im copying and pasting it. This stuff is very intriguing to me, I usually save most of the information that I want to learn more about or what Peace posts. I am always afriad that these threads will disappear. So, is it spelled black muurs instead of moors? Is there a reason for the spelling?

Mr Konate says they are also examining reports by Columbus, himself, who said he found black traders already present in the Americas.

They also cite chemical analyses of the gold tips that Columbus found on spears in the Americas, which show that the gold probably came from West Africa

there were separate waves of africans coming here to america. scienctist have no discovered, or admitting that the first africans came here across the bering strait before the asiatic natives.

then we have the west coast navigators and the enslaved africans (who my family is basically comprised of).

there is no evidence supporting the vikings ever coming to north america. they were in canada and fought the natives there for 12 years before they were completely ousted.

im not sure about the chinese but i have learned that they navigated to america and have been here for a very, very long time. got to study up on the chinese one of these days.
