What is your strategy for dealing with roadblocks and dead ends in your research, particularly adoptions in which the Catholic Church was involved? Their answer is "The records might exist but how much is it worth to you for us to do research into the matter?" Do you pay, do you find other sources or do you give up?

It all depends on how much determination one has.
