How great would that be, to get tracked down and given something of value. That would make my day.

Doing my family tree since 1998, so when I hear something like this, I imediately think and hope the person cares about History, and his family line. Hope they aren't the kind that turns this into drug/boze money, or a new Truck, or looks at it for 30 seconds and throws it in a drawer never to be seen again.

I certainly hope the documents are loaned, or custody given to, the Ohio Historical Society for safe care and storage so the public and researchers can benefit from this wonderful piece of history.

BE CAREFUL with LOANING anything to the OHIO HISTORICAL SOCIETY --- THEY HAVE a BAD RECORD of NOT RETURNING ITEMS once they are LOANED !!!

You wanna know what'll makes Ohio's Justice system day? When they track you down for all
those child support payments you missed buds. Pay up. Or just send me the checks..I'll make sure the proper people get them...me!

Do you think emails that soldiers write today are going to be worth anything in 150 years? Probably not.

Have you not been paying attention to what is going on at the Ohio Historical Society? They're in shambles there. The LAST thing I'd be doing is: giving them something of value. I expect sooner than later, the Director of the OHS will be selling off part of their assets just to keep afloat.
It is truly sad that those in power do not see the importance of preserving history and keeping a vital organization like OHS well-funded.
