Whenever I see genealogy for OH I click on it. I lived in OH for 30 years. There are a few Feinen families I located living in OH but I can't find the connection to my mother's family. I have been doing genealogy for over 20 years. Bought my first computer in 1998 where I found FamilySearch. It was a Godsend. I traced the Feinen's back to 1600 but the Finkel's only back to 1800's. My father's family came to South Salem, in 1851. His wife Mary Ann Harrison was said to be the half sister to Queen Victoria. Her husband
Blyth Jagward Morter was a stone mason and he carved her tombstone with the word THINK at the bottom. Ohio News paper picked up the story in the 1960s. My Mother's family the Kunz s have lived in Ohio since the 1850's too

After finding out that an ancestor, William Warrington, was a member of General George Washington's Life Guard unit and was responsible for intercepting a vial of poison meant for Washington, I was hooked. I wanted to know more about who this person was.
I now attend a genealogy class and it helps to see what and how others handle their research. Class members share their stories, give suggestions on organizing records, and help in discovering new methods for research. It's like another 'family'.
