FAA mandates safety checks for older Piper planes
The Federal Aviation Administration is requiring inspections on tens of thousands of older model Piper airplanes to check cables that control tail surfaces.

So they issued an A.D.(airworthiness directive) what's the big deal? They do it all the time with small planes, large planes, airliners. But the real question is did they ground the fleet for immediate inspection, or does it become part of the next annual inspection?
