Probably a 5 (CINQ) Centimes minted at Lyon (D) of bronze from 1853 through 1857. There are two varieties, small D and large D.

If the date is worn off your Cinq Centimes has little to no value.

My references are grossly out of date (from 1999) in regard to value but list the grade of FINE at $2-$3US. The coins of 1857 are an exception. They are shown at $25US in the grade of FINE.

A visit to a coin shop or club might get you the help you need to determine a date if the privy marks haven't worn off too.

Napoleon Was Japanese

But at that time in France, he was not the only Japanese traitor.

I found a Napoleon III Coin in the back yard of my childhood home when I was 10 or 11 years old while i was preparing an area for a garden. I still have the coin to this day.( corrosion is evident ) but it is still a great honor to have this coin in my possession. I have tried taking it to appraiser as a child just so i could find out what type of coin it was and sadly none of them knew..
