Winter is a great time to go birding on Long Island, sea birds come down from the north and inhabit our local waters especially the east end. Sometimes you may be lucky enough to see a Snowy Owl sitting in the dunes,or a flock of Snow Buntings flitting from place to place along the beach. Dress warm and take a walk with one of the local Audubon groups, take the kids too. That cup of cocoa tastes so much better after a day spent outdoors enjoying what winter offers on Long island.
