Are you fkn kidding me?????<quoted text>Who in the GOP fights and wants to ban abortion? Can you be specific? Rhetorical question, since I've asked you before and you don't answer any questions about FACTS. And even if some do, does that mean a few define the whole of the party?
If the whole party wanted to ban abortion, could they do it?
No...they can't. Roe v Wade is the law of the land and all the wishing and politicking in the world isn't going to change that.
I'm a Democrat who supports abortion...not that the two are exclusive to each other.
I don't, however, support unfettered abortion. At some point (viability hasn't been strictly defined by the Supreme Court) you are dealing with a baby, not a fetus. And at that point, I believe the life of the baby trumps the right of a woman to do what she wants with her own body.
You may believe otherwise, and that's fine. We are all entitled to our own opinions.
Religious people are against gay marriage because of their religious beliefs, and those beliefs are protected by the First Amendment. But not all people who are religious are Republicans. Those two aren't exclusive to each other, either.
Not all people who oppose gay marriage are religious. They are entitled to their own opinions, too, along with the freedom to express them, guaranteed by the First Amendment.
And they should all be able to express an opinion that differs from yours or mine without being accused of being Nazi's or traitors.
Your problem seems to be that you are a believer. You believe whatever talking point enough people throw out there without question, then you run with them without question, study or pause.
It's no different than religious zealotry. Believing and thinking independently don't go together at all.
The entire conservative circus is behind overturning Roe v. Wade...
But are behind the death penalty.
Guess it's all in the timing, eh sport?
