This is payback. For the way many have chosen to treat America's first black president.

Sorry, but the desire (of some) to secede is NOT an act of treason. You need to brush up on Article Three, section 3, of the Constitution.

Shouldn't make death threats here on Topix. Your threats can and will be traced and since your threats cross state lines it can be a federal offence. And learn to spell or use spell check. I can forgive a typo every now and then but Black rhino must have ridden the little bus,or as they call em here where I live"The Obama Bus"

Yeah, just like you "inbreds" think you can petition the white house to secede and it's done...

The ONLY reason the redneck inbreds want to secede is because we have a president of color, nothing more.

That to me is a traitor. You can paint it, with Article 3 and it still looks like a redneck in overalls.

LOL! Nice try sheep.

Yet, lets be honest and factual here!
Repub/Dem Parties BOTH agree that the first 18 months of Obama's presidency was STILL under Bush's policies.
Obama's policies had to go through congress, and didn't even take effect until the end of 2010! Heck, even Romney said Obama can take NO blame for the first 18 months, because we were still under Bush policies.
So, my point is that under Bush's policies and the recession caused on his watch, the unemployment went to 10% in 2010!
Ever since Obama's policies have taken effect, we got out of the recession, and had continual nonstop job growth, and now unemployment is down to 7.9%
Bush took 8 years to almost destroy this country, and Obama got us back to 7.9% in 4 years.
That's a good thing...right?

Obama created more jobs in one year, than Bush did in 8:

The only reason it went back down to so low when Bush left office, was directly due to the RECESSION (bush caused). The gas prices reflect the economy. The fact that they went back up is a sign of economic growth...and that's a good thing...eh?
MOSTLY: No president in history can control the price of gas. I find it shows ignorance when someone tries to blame the president for gas price fluctuation.
Oil companies are private sectors, and Obama can not tell them how to set their prices.
The high oil prices have NOTHING to do with Obama and everything to do with America's vas consumption of oil.
The president is responsible for oil PRODUCTION...and since oil production is at an 8 year high, then that's good too...right?

Average gas price July 2008:
$4.11/$4.76

OUCH...this might hurt a little:
During Bush's two terms the increase of food stamps was 14.7 million.

Trent Lott, Ronald Reagan and Republican Racism
Dec. 14, 2002 / http://tinyurl.com/d9w75
Southern Strategy: The race question has haunted Reagan and the GOP for decades
The same could be said, of course, about such Republican heroes as, Barry Goldwater, Richard Nixon or George Bush the elder, all of whom used coded racial messages to lure disaffected blue collar and Southern white voters away from the Democrats. Yet it's with Reagan, who set a standard for exploiting white anger and resentment rarely seen since George Wallace stood in the schoolhouse door, that the Republican's selective memory about its race-baiting habit really stands out.

No tears for Reagan
June 8, 2004 / http://tinyurl.com/558r6l
Excuse me if I don’t shed any tears over the passing of former President Ronald Reagan. While the news of the 40th president’s death brought on a flood of sentimentality over the nation’s media this past weekend, I could not help but recall what the Reagan presidency really meant for Black Americans. Similar to what occurred upon the death of Richard Nixon, amnesia has set upon journalists as they recall Reagan’s era; choosing to indulge in idol worship rather than serious reflection on the former president’s policies.

Ronald Reagan: The Great White Redeemer
http://tinyurl.com/6jljhm / June 10 2004
Only 12 years elapsed between the glorious military victory over the Confederate Slave States in 1865 and the definitive defeat of Reconstruction in 1877. In many important respects, the Reconstruction period was even briefer than that. By 1870, when the last of the southern states ratified the 15th Amendment to the Constitution, Tennessee had already rejected biracial democracy and installed an all-white “Redeemer” government.“Redemption” then swept through Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia.

Reagan's heart of darkness
June 9, 2004 / http://tinyurl.com/28ytj
PRESIDENT Bush proclaimed: "Ronald Reagan believed that God takes the side of justice and that America has a special calling to oppose tyranny and defend freedom." In the first three days of news reports on the death of the former president, not a single major American newspaper, television station, or politician has dared to exhume this counterpoint to the Reagan's legacy: "Immoral, evil, and totally un-Christian."
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_op...

Reagan, White As Snow
http://tinyurl.com/6lujee
Last week, as we’ve heard, the Republican presidential candidates praised the name and heritage of Ronald Reagan 40 times during the televised Show and Tell at the Reagan Presidential Library. That none of them mentioned Reagan’s legacy of white supremacy and support for apartheid is a little like invoking Jefferson Davis and not mentioning treason or slavery. Actually, a lot like it.
Ronald Reagan was a white supremacist to his very core, and left enough traces over his lengthy political career so that it’s evident for anyone who cares to look—which apparently few do.
Domestically, he opposed every legislative remedy for African Americans, betraying a meanness of spirit and an open racism. As Sidney Blumenthal wrote in The Guardian in 2003:/ http://www.tompaine.com/articles/2007/05/08/r...

It's actually higher if you count citizens who've given up looking for a job or are under employed. In reality it's above 11%, so no, that's not good in any way you try to slice it.

No, it's a reflection of the tension in the middle east and the falling value of the American dollar. Not a good thing.

You proved a great point. It took eight years for it to rise to 14.7 million under Bush. Under Obama it took half the time.

The GOP always promise they will balance the budget, but they rack up record deficits year after year and then only show any concern about the debt they placed on future generations when the Dems get in office. If you need a few more examples of supreme hypocrisy and lies by the GOP let me know. I have a few hundred more if I don't take time to really think about it.
