Let's map out where only poor and ethnic-type people live and have all those bothersome planes fly over those areas. That way I can get a good nap in my PV / beach area home before I jet off to Hawaii. Who cares if the little planes fly into each other, as long as I'm not inconvenienced. Let's try to forget the Cerritos air crash, which shows a very good reason for restricting light aircraft from the areas mentioned in the article, right Richard? If you want to restrict pollurion and noise from the area, close Sepulveda Blvd and all the other major streets from traffic and ban all the house fraus driving their oversized SUVs around GrandView School and the rest of town. The least of my irritations are the occasional Cessna at 3,500 feet and the Coash Guard chopper high over the beach! This city council action is as misguided as the futile attempt to ban plastic bags at Ralph's market.

Manhattan Beach city council members patronize & glorify parts of manhattan Beach, how can they sleep knowing north manhattan beach is really a dog pile. And here we are discussing air space, really? The engines can be heard all day, into the night after 12 am.... Much gratitude to the individuals, not city council members, who are putting in the money & effort to improve their properties. Mayor Portia, what will you do besides talk? Simple : you want to clean up the city, start with the 6 room renters in one single dwelling. Isn't this illegal and simply distorting census figures ?

Wasn't Palmdale Airport built to reduce the air traffic at LAX? Of course high-speed rail would have been needed from all points in Los Angeles County. As I recall, Palmdale presently has no carriers.

Thompson should be more concerned with dangerous, noisy, polluting helicoptors and banner planes!

"Informed" - Michelle Murphy is President of MBRA, and has been for a number of years. Martha isn't even a member of the Board, and hasn't been a member for many years. The remainder of your comments are equally inaccurate.

Michelle Murphy is a puppet. She takes orders from Martha Andreani and is a drama queen. Shame.

Martha Andreani was in charge of the last MBRA meeting where she lobbied on behalf of the shopping mall. OMG

I'm not a Manhattan Beach resident. I'm just a nuisance property owner.
