Human rights observers arrive in Honduras

Aug 17, 2009 | Posted by: Summermoondancer | Full story: english.people.com.cn

A delegation of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights will arrive here on Monday to learn about the human rights situation in Honduras after the June 28 coup. Editor note...I can only hope that they look at both sides and violations and not presumptions. They need to look at the violations of rights of children to an education, violations by IHSS workers to provide health care- Violations by Zelaya by refusing treatment for disease if the person didnīt sign his damned peitition..and finally his call to blockade elections with violence and the violence against business and private citizens who do not agree with the resistence crap.

In Saudi Arabia you could go to jail for carrying a Bible to their country. Atleast it used to be that way according to a man I knew that went over their from Shell for some work.
I believe that it is still that way, although I have not traveled there, nor do I intend to.

I think that still women are not allowed to drive, and that they are never allowed to be in the company of man, who is not their relative, without a chaperone.

It looks like complaining worked...plenty of letters went to the Dept of State in the US yesterday and the OAS in Washington. As well as media complaints...they are receiving the complaints from parents and children being denied their educational rights and hearing the others as we speak...they heard the complaints about the media being attacked by UD as well. On another note the lover of attacks, throwing stones, threats, and swinging sticks...the backwards Silvia Ayala from the UD arrived in Mexico and said she is being persecuted and persued by Micheletti...lmao..She should be persued she is a criminal.

For those of us who are not yet citizens of Honduras, can you give us some history on the UD?

Unificacion Democratica was granted amnesty in the 80s for their acts of terrorism.
Their shirts carry the Russian commuist symbol of the sickle and star.
The colors they use are red letters and a yellow backgrond and are a union of clandestine groups.
Revolutionary Party of Honduras, Morazanist Party for National Liberation, Party of Democratic Renovation(former communist party of Honduras)
In decree 189-93 the government officially recognized them as a political party after the treaty of Esquipulas that gave guerilla fighters official political status. In 1997 they obtained 1% of the votes.
They are intimately related to Bloque Popular that is behind tons of manifestations that have tended to become violent. Including the 29 strikes by teachers in the past 2 years.
They are not just a leftist group they are a communist terrorist group.
The yellow symbolizes a new dawn and the red is for the blood of martyrs(sound like Al Qaeda to you? yeah but Al Qaeda lite)
Do not be fooled they arenīt a pacific group and in fact call for communist revolution that is quite violent yet when their manifestations are broken up with force such as tear gas and rubber bullets they scream foul.
