Robin, I am not entirely sure what the historical parallel is here... fighting an organized state with a standing army vs. fighting a global philosophy of anger and desperation does not strike me as the same thing.

USA must apologize to the Japanese people for such atrocities.

They are cruel.

We like Americans, but an apology will help strengthen the relationship and put all hard feeling away!

After Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and engaged the United States in the war, did they not think that the USA would fight? The bombs saved millions of lives, Japanese lives included. What about the other atrocities Japan committed against peoples of the world? Bataan Death March and all the horrid things they did to the Chinese to name two. Germany AND Japan were working on an Atomic bomb. Do you all think THEY would not have used it? Read your history. I, for one,am glad I don't have to speak Japan. How about other Americans?!

The bombings were not necessary and were nothing more than the US retaliating for Pearl Harbour. The Japanese were ready to surrender in any event, and would likely have done so at about the same time as they actually did even if the two "bully bombs" had never been dropped.
You will only get a small number of Americans to agree with this, but a number of highly regarded military people, including Americas, do in fact believe this.
