And to think that NASA accomplished this with computers less powerful than todays cell phones and calculators. Amazing.

Satellites are obviously very helpful for communications technology. For espionage though? Maybe less helpful than expected. Considering how much we pay for our intelligence services, they sort of aren't that great. Part of it is that they rely way too much on electronic surveillance and not enough on actual human to human information.
