Give him a break already. It's been 20 years. Can't we assume he is sincere? And even if not, what difference does it make if he now supports us? Furthermore, he is a politician and like all politicians he cannot openly support something so unpopular at the time that it have guaranteed or made likely his defeat. Maybe he really was pro-gay all along in his real views.

DOMA, DADT.... WTF are they thinking???? He's flip-flopped like a fish on a frying pan over the issue (depending on the political SIG he's addressing) ever since

Yep. And it didn't make a dime's worth of difference. He still polls as one of the most admired ex-Presidents.

But he will ALWAYS have an astresik next to his name in the history books, where the footnote will say: "IMPEACHED" !

:)

Now to give him his due, why was HE WILLING AND ABLE to strike reasonable bargains with the Republican-contrlled House Of Representatives to achieve BALANCED federal budgets, and Teh Obamanic is UNWILLING to do that ???

Hey, I just had an amazing coincidence about 20 minutes ago.

I went down to the post office here in Coolidge, Arizona to mail a Personal Locator Beacon to a distributor to get the battery replaced, and I ran into a nationally-known out gay celebrity politician right in front of me in line.

Of all places ! LOL

We stopped and chatted awhile and he was very nice. Amongst other things, I asked him where the nearest gay bars were and he told me about a few.

It was Paul Babeu.

Nope. I will never forget DOMA or DADT. Mitigating politics notwithstanding, there is no excuse for the way DADT was actually implemented. There should have been an immediate cessation of fishing expeditions. Instead, discharges escalated until the necessity of two wars dictated they subside.

Clinton did, however, realize that signing DOMA was wrong at the time. In the event, he signed the bill quietly, late at night, the same day it was sent from congress. When this bill had overwhelming support of both houses of congress and a majority of the electorate, why would he not have made a spectacle of the signing? What would there be to lose?

Nothing, except knowing that he had brandished his office in the name of rank discrimination.

So yes, Clinton is sincere in renouncing DOMA.
