Fifteen years after putting his signature to a federal law that excludes gay and lesbian families from any form of federal recognition or protections, Bill Clinton has joined daughter Chelsea in coming out for marriage equality in New York, reported The Huffington Post on May 5. "Our nation's permanent mission is to form a 'more perfect union' ...

Other than that, anything else goes in one ear and out the other.
It is wiser to say on the basis of our shared recollection and searchable posts at topix that Daniel from LI encouraged a self described, underage, male poster in a glbt thread to contract Daniel from LI.

Of course, in any court action it would be easy to prove that Daniel from LI and the new sht fer brains also with a three legged cat who lived in W. VA and only wears Levis were the same individual's monikers...if...that is indeed true that they are. IP numbers and all, don't ya know.

MORE people were thrown out under DADT than ever before in U.S. history. HOW can you thank him for that ?! He stabs us in the back, and you guys thank him. You Democrats are TRULY insane since you obviously cannot think and respond LOGICALLY.
You are completely wrong. You don't understand the history of this.

Yes, Gods forbid that some of us have differing view on matters of social import. We should all be conservatives and march in lock-step and think alike. Sounds a bit totalitarian to me.

Conservatives seem to forget this country is supposed to be about freedom. Apparently it's only supposed to be free for them and corporations. Those of us who actually care about people are not wanted.

The way the GOP and the Tea Party treat the poor and gay people and other factions they don't like it's a wonder any of us even call ourselves Americans anymore.

According to you being born in America doesn't make you American anymore...you're only American if you are white, straight & conservative. So narrow-minded.

Explain to me WHY he did not veto the bill. Is that simple enough for you ?

This has nothing to do with gay rights or marriage, now that Chelsea's marriage is bust in record time, he is working her into New York politics..........nothing more than a gambit that the morons will fall for again. After all they elected Rangel even after being caught and Hillary after all the scandal that has followed her and her lies..........duck more sniper fire.

Yep, I hear this season they are going to show how to bag a liberal union worker that is paid to start riots, and then field dress him for a coming series on CSI.

Say he had vetoed it. What would have been the result? They would still have been discharging Gs & Ls. DADTDP was not a perfect result, but it was all he could have gotten passed at the time. He knew it would be challenged in the future, and he probably knew that it was unconstitutional, and would be brought to the Supreme Court and found to be so. In any event, half a loaf is better than none, and it led to the end of that particular discrimination, as we see today.

Look, he betrayed us. You just don't want to admit the truth.

The worst thing that wou;d've happened is taht congress would've passe dit over his veto. He then could have taken the moral high ground and had his A.G. challenge it in court if he REALLY believed teh law was unconstitutioanl.

Instead he betrayed us.

And yes, I'm glad he was impeached.

unemployment is back on the rise, the economy grew at an anemic 1.1%, we're $14 trillion in debt, houses are still being foreclosed on in record numbers, the mexican drug cartels control the border, gas, corn, wheat and gold are ALL more than twice what they should be, and, we still have no budget.
to any rational person, THAT'S a lot of wheels!
I'll not go into your incorrect data since the Republicans can't even find a viable candidate although the is a former Governor from Utah that's about to jump out of the bushes. Interesting thing is, he's pro gay civil unions. The right of center Republicans are going to have a lot to swallow if Hartman makes his move. Bitter pill for them to take.

You don't get it yet. It was a compromise because Congress would not support Clinton in allowing all Gs & Ls to serve openly. It was the most he could pass at the time. Congress, in reality, wanted the complete ban to continue as signed by Truman, and in effect until Clinton got it changed in '93. He could get no more, and, I believe, stated subsequently, that he knew it was unConstituional, and would eventually be over turned. And if he had challenged it in court, he would not have been elected to a second term. The country was not ready at that time for full equality, and who knows whether they are yet. Only time will tell. He did what he could do at the time, as most Presidents do.

By the way, Frank. I will read any reply you have on the subject, but will discuss it no further with you. You are like all Tea Partiers, unwilling to give any credit to any Democrat for any advances, so discussion with you is useless.
