Personally I would not be buying a house over there, even if they said it was clear from bombs. How do you know that they did not miss one? It is too much of a risk. Also had do you know that the chemicals inside those bombs did not seep into the ground and are in the land over there. Nope, I would not be building over there. Just my opinion.

Yea, who would buy, let alone build, on an old bombing range? Greedy developers and the county looking for property tax money, thats who. I bet most of the normal people buying there had no idea.

The land in question was annexed into the city. Orlando controls the permits

James I can guarantee the people who bought there didn't know because I am one of them. Sadly this just seems like the city trying to CYA. A school and hundreds of homes have already been built.

No Duh, someone better do something.
Or the next news story will be, Little Johnny was walking to school and stepped on a land mine and lost a leg...I'm still trying to figure out what the heck is so dang important about the housing market. Can't we as Americans figure out something else to do, besides built houses and ruin the land with buildings. Oh gee, they say it employs lots of people, well it's time to go back to school and find alternative jobs. Nothing but Greedy builders, too bad, anyone with money isn't held responsible for their actions anymore, it's only the poor these days, since they can't afford the lawyers. I say tuff cookies, there should be a building freeze over the whole central Florida area...

I agree, the people that bought homes in Vista Lakes all the way down to Lee Vista Square had no idea, because I also am one of them. This is very disturbing, investing your life savings in a good, safe, quiet, and gated community, only to not know whether your family will be safe in their own home.

It's just a shame that the bombing range wasn't on the site of the proposed arena

We've been reading for months that they have been finding and detonating bombs there, and the city is just now blocking permits?

Wonderful, informative news when we need it. Bless Rich McKay for the incredible effort on researching and sharing of the actual facts in this on goingstory.

As residents of Warwick Landing, we are in the dark as to actual factual information, unless a dedicated reporter like McKay tells us.

Louie, who are using as local legal counsel? I understand there is a meeting on Saturday - is there indeed a class action suit? I have clients who own 2 units in Horizons at Vista Lakes. and they have not been contacted.
