To bad for the Prepies......What are they ever going to do? Let's see how D10 can manipulate the schedule, the classes, the recruiting, etc. to let Prep win. Only time will tell. Class AA ?

Well to start Prep always played AAAA until GM won the first ever double state championship....then the elected to play down....now D10 officials are penalizing McDowell for playing in the much more competitive WIPAL League in AAAA because they are drawing away athletes that would go to Prep because they get much more exposure to college scouts in that league. Stupid!

So district 10 not getting the gate money for Mcdowell games has nothing to do with the Mcdowell decision...thats crazy right.

Much more logical to think that D10 loves prep and thinks that if Mcdowell is not in the Wpial Prep will get more kids....perfectly logical.

you are beyond delusional.

Love when people that have No clue, just an agenda post here and make themselves look dumb.

Also what does D10 have to do with preps classes as you said earlier. Are you crazy or just plain stupid?

D10 not getting Mcdowell playoff game money is the ONLY reason that happened.

It’s always about the money ” Stupid” and yes I know what I’m talking about having spoke to McDowell’s AD & v principle about the D10 decision to restrict McDowell’s playoffs in WIPAL’s. I have no vested interested in what goes on at Prep, McDowell, or any other school, I just find it funny how D10 manipulates programs to TRY and get Prep to win. I was at the BB game last night just because I thought it would be a good game & I support high school sports. It was a great game and I must say both sides behaved themselves……I nice to see that Prep is getting better at loosing (I guess that’s because they are getting use to it) You wrote “Also what does D10 have to do with preps classes as you said earlier. Are you crazy or just plain stupid?“ I was referring to the “class” they compete in Stupid! Prep playing most football playoff games at the stadium is not D10 manipulating ……Stupid !!!!

You realize D10 has nothing to do with what class prep plays in right? Thats preps choice. They have been a AAA school all along and decided to play in their proper class (in football).

As you probably do not know because you seem very ignorant, the enrollment in the parochial league is way down making it tougher to get kids in the school, hence making it toughter to play AAAA football.

Prep has not used the tactics that mcdowell football is currently using with using Granada apartment addresses to say that football players live in millcreek. How they are getting away with this I will never know.

You realize the only reason D10 is not allowing the Mcdowell/wpial deal is that they are LOSING money from playoff games. Not because mcdowell has a recruiting edge from it...thats the dumbest thing I have heard in a while.

So again D10 has nothing to do with anything you have said.

Waiting for your next nonsensical topic.

I am from down state and have no alliance to Prep or any other Erie school. I am just a fan of high school basketball and I attend quite a few of the regional games. I belive it has everything to do with coaching. Not sure how long Majeski has been at Prep but I am wondering how many losses they have had in the last few years where they have held a lead after the 3rd quarter. No composure in the 4th wquarter and that stems from lack of coaching in my opinion. He needs to go.

Interesting to note that Prep went AAA after GM won FB & BB titles & Prep beat them in both sports. I know that is where enrolment numbers dictate them to be & I’m sure that their enrolment numbers are down, but don’t you think the success of McDowell, GM and others have anything to do with the drop in class & the drop in enrolment ? If you don’t are STUPID!

The reason for the drop in enrollment is purely financial and has nothing to do with winning or losing. Look at every parochial school (grade/ high) and watch the enrollment drop as the major employers leave town. Your theory is a delusional one at best.

Prep is clearly behind the district X decision! I heard it from coaches and an AD from three different school over a year ago that prep was petitioning within the district meetings to get support to force McDowell back into district X. When i heard this i laughed and stated "No Way, they don't have that kind of pull! I know prep people are ignorant and crooked but no way they are going to be able to screw the millcreek kids out of such a great oppurtunity!" I was wrong as a year later we all see what has happened!!! its funny how prep people justify all thier shadyness! I guess before you lie, cheat, manipulate, bend the rules or break the rules, cheat kids out of a great oppurtunity because it dosn't benefit your agenda of self glorification within the community, just say a prayer and it will all be ok!! Bunch of Fake people from PREP

So General McLane is now recruiting? How dare they! McDowell will never be able to compete fairly when they only have 5000 students to pick from. Pin U needs to grow up. Life didn't stop when you were in high school. Time to move into the real world bozo. At least move up to the level where you bitch and complain that you pro football team lost because of bad calls. Once you complete your apprenticeship there you can apply to enter the adult world.I think it's going to be a long and difficult journey for you but with persistence you can make it.

Absolutely right. The cost of attending parochial schools is indeed the number one and salient reason for the enrollment drop in these schools. And the tuition will only continue to rise each and every year. My son recently graduated from Cathedral Prep where the 2010/2011 tuition was $6800. Prep will tell you it was "only" $6500 but that's when you take out the $300 of raffle tickets each kid/family must sell or they eat that cost. Many people including ourselves do not have the nerve to push $20 tickets on people living in a tough economy so we put our own names on the tickets hoping that we would win the drawing. We never did. Since Prep's tuition went up each of my son's four years at a rate of about $300 that puts the current tuition at $7100.($6800 if you have the balls to expect others to buy $20 tickets)!
Our daughter attends Mercyhurst whose 2011/2012 tuition is $7700. They give you $250 worth of tickets to sell in order to defray the cost but again we feel too quilty to ask people to fork over for those as well. Mercyhurst also raises tuition about $300 per year which means we will be paying over $8000 before our daughter is through. We are by no means wealthy people. We have chosen to alter our lifestyles to accommodate our kid's education. While we do alright financially and have been more fortunate than some others it has been a challenge and a sacrafice for sure.
When you consider these numbers I have provided is it any wonder that enrollment has dropped and will continue to drop in a city like Erie in these financial times ? The cost of a parochial education is absolutely the overwhelming reason for the drop in student enrollment in these schools. And that is despite what these schools will tell you.
Thanks sucker.

No, thank you parochial schools for better college preparedness, placement, and academic scholarships. It's the up front tuition that drives many away from the advantages these schools offer. The rising costs of already high tuition means the only option for most Erie families is the rapidly deteriorating public schools. Unless a kid is at the very top of his or her class in these sorry schools the chance of success at the next level becomes a much more difficult and often impossible task.
We will take anybody that can pay, we don't give a shit if your kid grows up to be a serial killer. Its all about how much we can squeeze out of folks as delusional as you.
