You omitted Franklin Heights High School from SWCS football teams seeking a first win. Visiting Westland was the only SWCS team to win in Week 1, beating host Linden-McKinley 23-8. SWCS teams were outscored 47-136 last Friday. Last year you had an excuse...

Week 2 is looking pretty grim. Only a Saturday win by Westland can keep SWCS from being swept. Hard to believe the Cougars are the powerhouse of the district.

Well, Westland dropped the ball too, losing to Mifflin 27 - 7.

On the bright side there is a guaranteed WIN coming in Week 3 when Central Crossing plays at Franklin Heights! In the first two weeks neither team has shown much inclination to win making Friday's game a a U-Pick-Em. I don't expect the combined scores to exceed 15.

PS: How are SWCS In The Know teams doing?

WEEK 4 and the "Weak 4" got trounced. Zero Wins and outscored 40 - 206? Three blow-outs and a 10 point "almost". If I were a SWCS taxpayer I'd want some answers. Just what did your levy pay for?

A second win puts the Greyhounds atop the SWCS equivalent of Mount Rumpke. 1 - 3 in Week Five SWCS was outscored a collective 36 to 184 and the COMUTTS are a perfect 0 - 5. Taxpayers need to be asking hard questions in the South Western City School District!

SWCS went 0 - 4 last night and are 4 - 20 for the season.

Mount Vernon got their first WIN of 2011 and the Central Crossing Comets remain perfect. I guess SWCS taxpayers don't care about results so long as there is football friday night, footballfridaynight!

WEEK 7 - well, the Greyhounds won, beating 0 - 6 Newark by 37 points. Franklin Heights put 21 points on the board in a loss to New Albany. Westland and Central Crossing lost by a combined score of 131 to 00. Like, OMG!

WEEK 8 - perhaps the less said the better, but where's the fun in that?

SWCS football went 0 - 4 last night. They were outscored 175 - 20 with the Greyhounds getting shut out. Central Crossing remains a perfect 0 - 8.

The collective record of SWCS football teams is 5 - 27. Two more weeks and coaches Chris Harr, Rodney Hopkins, Matt Jordan and Steve White can return to whatever it is they do to earn their salaries. My guess is they teach Health.

WEEK 10 - Losses by Franklin Heights, Grove City and Westland (who was beaten by Central Crossing).

A SWCS collective 6 - 34 record. Last year, after a season off due to the levy failing, SWCS was 7 - 33.

Is bad football really better than no football and when does that levy expire? Think about it in the off season.

Enjoy losing, do you? I'm not talking about winning every game, I'm talking about winning any game. Central Crossing was outscored 81 to 396 and finished 1 - 9.
