QB is not the problem. Everything else is the problem. Coaching, Offensive Line, Receivers, and Defense. The system has broken down.
Instead of complaining though, I will offer some solutions. 1) Bobby is in charge. No more pussy footin around. If he is going to be head coach, then be the head coach. If he cares so much about Seminole football he will either step up or step aside. I prefer stepping up. 2) Take away any distinctive character among players. They are a team and should be a team. Cut the dreadlocks off, wear shoes that don't make you look like you're getting ready to perform in the Wizard of Oz, strip the names off the backs of the jerseys, and most importantly, get rid of the hatchets (my girlfriend refers to them as mailboxes) on the helmets. These players don't deserve standout recognition if they can't play like a team. Unite or take a hike. 3) If you miss a tackle, screw up a play, drop a ball, etc you butt sits. 4) No more nights out on the town. You're there to learn and to play football, not party. 5) Coaching needs to be addressed immediately. Communication has broken down and nobody knows who is in charge. The article mentions a dropped pass... how about those 20 seconds that were lost at the end b/c a coach didn't send in a signal to Ponder to spike the ball??? Pushing it on a dropped pass? Better coaching would have gotten an extra play. 6) Get back to basics. It isn't about winning a National Championship, or even winning the ACC at this point. The pressure is off for those things. If a younger player is showing promise, get him in there. We may lose another game or three this season, but get these players ready to step up next season. We need to jumpstart the old way of Seminole football - beat the living tar out of your opponent for the first 3 quarters and let your second and third team a quarter to get that experience. Sad thing is that Ponder is playing good football, but he doesn't have the support around him. That goes for his teammates and coaches. |
