His "message" is only for his kids (I mean his kids, his coachs kids, and their buds).
When I was there in 2010, all he did was talk about hard work and dedication paying off and all, but he doesn't back it up. My last year sucked. I worked hard in practice and stuck with it cuz I luv football and had my bro's on the team. I would think I was like part of the team until Coach A started talking about good jobs and hard work paying off for his starters. Din't pay off for me and other seniors that didn't get playing time and were left feelin like we wern't part of the team by the coaches.
I got to play in a couple of games that were blowouts. I was stoked and made some solid tackles and good plays in both games. After both games Coach A talked to the team and the paper about the good job the younger guys did when they went in. Screw the seniors that were finally getting to play and show what we could do.
I worked my A$$ off for those $OB's in practice an barely played. But the worst part is that the POS coaches din't treat us seniors like part of the team- we were just left overs. I didnt feel like i was part of the playoffs cuz all of the left over seniors worked our a$$e$ off the whole last month of the year and didn't play at all. I dont think coach even remembered we were there anymore. Ruined my senior year. Still pisses me off and always will.

A friend pointed me to this post after listening to me gripe about the cavemen coaches. I read the post from the kid from 2011 and gotta say that the same thing happened to my nephew (a senior) this year. Biggest bunch of [email protected] I've ever seen.
If the coaches have no intention to play these kids, they should cut them early in season of their freshmen year. That way other sports might benefit from these kids participation instead of using them for meat squad and not playing half of each class that goes out for football. Despite what the coaches are telling the "left-over" kids they aren't doing them any favors leading them on.

Army, tell your nephew he aint alone.
Heres a news flash to any ninth graders out there not starting this year on freshman or JV: Youll NEVER play for these coaches, dont matter how hard you work, dont matter how good you get, how big you are, or how strong or fast you are. So dont let them lead you on as if you ever will have a chance to start. Youre just settin yourself up for a major downer when you a senior if you believe their hype.
Putting on a C-man uniform and sittin on sidelines being ignored thru high school by the freakin coaches will be your only reward for 4 years of blood, pain, an sweat. Aint worth it.
