stupid. of course cosby is in cocke county you ass. except, cocke county is the school in newport. so when you say coach in or at cocke county you are refering to the coaches in newport at cocke county high school. to clear things up the coach who was inapropriate is the coach at cosby high school. there.

Well, his career is over now that he's been fired. I'd say no other school system will hire him as a result of said actions, thus blacklisting him. The board may also consider sending a letter to the State asking that his license be revoked and that his pension be cut off. However, Shelton can begin a new career. Let's see, he can become a grill cook for McDonald's, dishwasher or grill cook for Cracker Barrel, door greeter, stock person, sales clerk for Wal-Mart, bagger, stock person, or grocery clerk for Food City, assembly line associate for a factory, stockperson for a warehouse, custodial engineer (janitor) for hospital, sanitation specialist (garbage man) for the landfill/dump, luggage expeditor (bellhop) for Best Western, or used car salesman. He'll have plenty of new careers to choose from.

Too many people too busy wanting to run others in the ground
Do you people realize what some (pre-teen and) teenage girls and their mothers act like?
I am a female teacher. Male teachers are targets. You can't be nice to females or they will rub and touch you. I feel sorry for innocent male teachers.
Everybody let it go.
I worked with Mr. Shelton for two years. I never saw him misbehave, but I sure did see a lot of silly gaga girls make eyes at him and flirt with him along with grown women.

Let those without sin cast the first stone.

Men are afraid to be nice.
Men are afraid to tell them to stop because if you make these females mad - they will still get you.
It is all about rejection.

Don't tell me to look at facts. It is all circumstantial when it comes to these situations.

All teachers are at risk everyday of liars or someone's misinterpretation of what they thought they saw.

I liked Tyler Shelton as a co-worker. He was nice and friendly, but he was never too friendly. He did like to joke and have fun with the students and others.

Try again, never bullied anyone, I was MUCH smaller in hs than now. That being said, I always got good grades, went on to college and now university on scholarships. I never was in trouble with the law or did anything in terms of illicit drugs.
Since were generalizing here though, is it safe to say youre a dirty ol pervert since you worked with one for two years?

Thanks for saying that I was clueless and nuts.
I always stand up for what is right, but I always make sure to get clearly to the bottom of a situation.
Male and female teachers are in situations that make them play many roles everyday. We deal with students who NEED love, guidance, parenting, nursing, friendship, comraderie, acceptance, discipline, and teaching. Teachers are with children approximately eight hours per day. We act as their parents during that time.
Children and teens need their teachers to convey that they care and recognize them as individuals.
Without this relationship, students will not listen to us.
Yet, we have to stop students from hugging us or giving them a hug because someone will misconstrue the intentions. Sometimes a student will confide in a teacher to a point that it is necessary to break that trust. Students sometimes become infatuated with their teacher who pays attention to them.
All I am saying is to quit judging Mr. Shelton unless you know without a doubt what you saw was crossing the line.
Last year, I had a student who snuck upon me and hugged me. He laughed and thought it was cute. When he hugged me, he touched my breast momentarily. Maybe, I should have filed sexual assault charges on him, but I knew that he was being funny and loving to his teacher. I could have formed a lynch mob with my husband, and we could have hung him from the nearest tree.

Tyler flirted w any female he could. He would come to our restaurant and flirt w our servers, he'll half of them were n hs. And trust me the girls did not flirt first, they were actually grossed out by this sick sick man. U say that teachers are to be a students parent, friend etc... I don't think sexual partner falls into a teachers position. No matter if a student flirts w a teacher, that teacher should not engage w the student. If u have this happen u should follow the rules and seek help from ur boss!!!

This is old news , why you bringing it back up. There's more male teachers in Cocke County who have done alot worse than Tyler and they're still teaching, some of our school board members included. I think we need some retired school teachers as board members who really know what they're doing, all we have are a bunch of redneck think they know it alls. They at least should have a college degree.

Oh, so since they need love, we should make sexual comments and advances?
