I can't believe it took Bosco 12 years to finally figure it out. Anyone who has ever been to a Bosco game knew what play was going to happen next and who was going to have the ball. I hope this will improve the football program and bring the Braves back to what they use to be in the 80's

It was most certainly time for a change at the Fottball Head Coach. I think Kiki is a good guy but did bring the successful results.

However, if Bosco R E A L L Y was interested in improving the school then it's time to send Principal Patrick Lee down the road and bring back the stong academics it had prior to his arrival.

It is time to keep cleaning house and return to the Bosco we all know and love. Academics are not what they were before Patrick Lee became Principal. Sometimes it is better not to have so many alumni in power.

I know from watching Bosco home games the Mendoza did indeed have and play favorites on his team. A parent of a player once told me this well after the fact when I realized it myself. We both agreed whole heartedly on the topic of favoritism and felt it was a complete injustice to the rest of the boys who also worked just as hard a the favorites but did not get any playing time.

Education should always be of the utmost priority at any school, private or public. I don't know much about this principal at SJB, but if he really has compromised the once, strict standards of the school like so many people claim, then absolutely 86 him ASAP.

I played against the Braves back in the 80's, so I know what a proud program they used to be. THEY ALWAYS PLAYED US TOUGH and were always in the playoff scene. It's unfortunate to see such a program like Bosco being run into the ground.

I wish the entire Bosco family the best in the future in returning to glory. One day, I'd like to see my alma mater bring back the rivalry it once had with the Braves.

A good man, but not a winning coach. I know many people who are unhappy with the current administration--academics not up to public school, need revamping in the athletics office--maybe if they were in a league where they could win--all the parents, and all the students might be happier!
Such a power house in the 80's and 90's--a place to be proud of, but now--not so much.
A few more changes and maybe people will start donating BIG again.

All this negativity is making me think about St. Anthony's as a better choice for my son. Interesting this came about as boys are taking entrance exams and going to open houses!!!!!!

I wouldn't send your kid the St. Anthony lol you can't compare. People are simply stating that Bosco has taken a few steps down since the 90's and thats mainly because Goodman left. Goodman is back and he'll get Bosco back to where it was.

We didn't send my son to Bosoc because of the football program and I wouldn't pick a school based on a football program. We placed him at Bosco in 04 because of the school, home, playground and church philosphy. It is a great place to have your son grow into a strong, caring young man. We continue to believe in the school and know it is THE BEST SCHOOL if academics is the main focus when choosing a school for your son. Kiki Mendoza would be the first to agree with that statement. We have another son at the school currently and are very happy with the teachers, coaches and administration. We back this with a tuition check sent to them every month.

Please don't use anonymous people's comments to select a high school for your son. I have a graduate that was completely prepared for college and another son at Bosco now. SJB is still a great school producing young men that are accepted to excellent colleges, and ARE very prepared for the next level. Our family has an extremely positive experience with the school!

It's great that you all back the school with tuition. Now how do you honestly feel about the students favored students that play football and dont pay for tuition....and by the way are not Catholic and live on the west side of Alameda Rail road tracks. These students who get a free ride while you pay a ton of money...these favored students that your yearly raised tuition supports. I wonder if they can make a "Blind Side" part 2 out of Bosco...on how we all supported these futuristic stars.....

Kiki is a great persom, but it was time for a change. Re playing favorites it sounds like Bosco's baseball coach. Maybe he's next.

Wow sounds like SJB is turning into the schools on the east side like Cathedral and Salesian. Cathedral recruits kids from out of state to play football for them. Its a damn shame that kids that have dreams of going there all there lives are passed over for some kid that will make the football coaches look good. Salesian does the same thing. WHen was the last time Salesian had kids from out of there area go to school there. This year they have been recruiting west of the Alemeda railroad tracks as well. SJB keep the academics up and the rest will fall into place. Its a damn shame that the schools are allowing kids to go for free as if it was a University setting. Parents should be very upset.

maybe they should have made sure players's dvd's were mailed instead of hiding them in a drawer. I think they got what they deserved.

Having my son graduate from this school I can say that they do prepare them academically along with good Christian values which a student will carry with them for the rest of their lives. It is difficult to read that kids that live in the west side are not Catholic or have Catholic values (ex-parent from Chino). Did God Almighty appoint you to speak for Him and become a critic for His sake. If you would know Jesus then you would understand that it is not about being a Catholic, Baptist, Methodist or Pentocostal but about his Holy Word which he brought to mankind for eternal salvation. My son is not a Catholic and attended this school because it had Christian values, good academic program, environment and diverse atheletic program. I want my son to follow Jesus teachings not a man made orginized religion and in this school they gave him a classes in Judism and other religious point of views. It is up to him now to pick what he wants sinc he is a UNIQUE individual who must ultimately pick a religious point of view due to FREE WILL.
