Clear Lake players want coaching change

All but two of Clear Lake High School's varsity baseball players asked that their coaching staff be replaced on Tuesday while meeting with a representative of the Record-Bee. That's probably not going to happen. Full Story

its amazing to me some of the comments. gary and paul are a big reason why kids from lakeport dont go further in baseball. they have squandered alot of talent the last three years. maybe the kids got some bad advise from a person with there own agenda, but they have a right to speak out aginst what is wrong. gary and paul are like politicians, they say what the important people want to hear, kiss the right a**, but forget to do right by the kids. and the school stands by and watches.go figure.we all watched as they allowed jameson holder act like a fool and make a fool out of the community.so why are we surprised a teacher is allowed to do it. i suspect if they pay clearlakes teachers based on performance, most of them will be broke

My opinion is my opinion, it's only an opinion. I am a smash mouth kinda guy who will tell you straight forward that doesnt have to hide behind a false name. However, I am a JV coach at CLHS and I am ashamed to apart of this so called program we run. First off its not even close to being a program, second you actually have to have played baseball to know what a program consists of. I know how ridiculous it is for the players to go to the press, but these players had no one else to go to. The players had gone to the coaches and staff numerous times, the press is all they had left. This is why I am truly proud of these kids for standing up for themselves. There are three coaches at the varsity level and I can tell you honestly, just from working with these coaches at varsity theres a problem with two of the coaches, not all three. I know this for a fact because I have respect from all the parents and players and hear the horror stories. As a JV coach we are here to groom players for varsity and winning is not our first priority, this helps better the schools program. But when coaches ahead of us are stealing school equipment(FGM) and taking apart the school golf cart so JV cant use it(FGM) also opening the JV managers mail and slandering and destroying my name daily,(FGM) it makes it a little hard to build something strong. I do give the varsity coaches a lot of credit though because if I had built the baseball resume they have, I would of hung them up a long time ago! They have ran out Brian Figg and Adam Bruch for some bullsh** loop hole, I wish I could of coached next to them and we could of shown Lake County a real program. CLHS legendary players werent made cause they were class acts, they were taught to be class acts. Gary Pickle taught his generation to play the game, and Paul Hage taught them to respect the game and these traits were passed to my generation, for this I thank you both. Jim Foley brought a family like unity and I hate to say it but, as much of an a**hole Bruce Mulligan was I respected him as a coach and admired what he brought to the table. When four or more players walk off every year and now the whole team is ready to quit there is a huge problem in front of us. If the staff doesnt realize this, thats a problem in its self. For all my close followers out there that think I shouldnt ever coach again. This is my second year coaching and brought lake county its first little league district title in 50 years and the same kids followed it up in 2009 with our first section title, so your absolutley right, I am a terrible coach and I should quit. Im terrible, and because of your comment I am gonna quit and call the record bee!!!!WAAAAA plus I have a good feeling on who wrote this comment. If your a hater, Joey Moreno will give you a full time job! I know you have no self respect and thats why you hide behind a false name, but if you want to piss in my face I would respect you alot more. I am at CLHS everyday at 3 COACHING if you want to stop by and yell at me for a bit. Dont be a coward.FGM! NOW LETS GO BOYS!!! GET YOURSELVES A NCS TITLE!!!
To this day the program is messed up. There needs to be a change in the managing at CLHS. The Head Coach Rick Moreno does a fantastic job but Zane Jensen makes people hate the sport. Its a problem and i hope someone sees it. The Jakks is where it's at!!
