Hawaii Prep kicks out Moanalua - High School

The pressure was so intense that Kalei Konrad couldn't bear to watch. Instead, he let the euphoric reaction from the tiny Hawaii Prep cheering section that braved the trip to Oahu let him know he had come through. Full Story

Martinez needs to admit that he was out coached and the better team did win the game! Sportsmanship at it's worse.

Obviously you two were not there. Didn't your mom teach you not to judge things you don't know? Are these comments from the Oliveros family of Princeville, Kauai? I agree Martinez can sometimes be an a@$ but this time he is right. Love him or hate him...right is right!

What is he right about? Making excuses? Not giving credit? Tell me what it was? I was at the game and Moanalua played sloppy and undisciplined. The refs were spot-on. They did a great job!

They were right on? And you were in the stands and you can hear the smack talk and see for yourself the calls on the field? Come on! He was right about the officiating after review of the video that I recorded. The refs were terrible! HPA was so out played while on offense the holding was blatant. Yet, play after play, no call. The worse offenders the o-line and receivers. Moanalua's RB is being tackled on an option play fake and he is called for holding? The play goes for 22 yards and is called back. Is that spot-on calls? On the go ahead field goal the refs under the uprights did not even see if the ball went over. They looked at each other and paused, then the ball boy, the ball boy, told them it was good so they said it was good. The ball boy! Explain to me why the HPA coach didn't give credit to the penalties that put them in position to kick a field goal? Moanalua may have played undisciplined but the the refs were still bad. It must have been amateur night. Probably Big Island refs.

Wow, now you are a fairy-tale storytime teller too? Wow your imagination if wonderful! We shall now call ballhawk, Pinocchio since you tell lies, HAHA.

And how could you record video when you had to sneak in to watch the game. C'mon, stop telling fibs!

By the way, I forgot, who won that game?

Geez Coach Martinez must have coached you because you are full of excuses. Who give credit to penalties? A class coach with integrity gives credit to the other team, other players, and his own players. He does not make excuses. But since you are from the school of crying and moaning, then I can understand why you feel this way. So tragic for you!

Let's see...he could've said "Lucky for us Moanalua's untimely penalties got us in position to kick the go ahead field goal even as our offense was struggling to move the ball." Kind of what the papers said..duh! Should your name be HPA FAN or Martinez Hater? So tragic for you.

Nah, only fairy-tale here is the way you're saying HPA won. No need to sneak in, I have a "bird's eye view". BTW, the refs won the game! Just a reminder!

Where exactly were you? What was sloppy about Moanalua? What was undisciplined about? What is "Spot-on"? Is it even a word? Is that a Big Island word like "ice-shave" and "choke"?

You don't know what spot-on is??? How old are you? Old f-rt? Google it. Hint: It's not a local term.

Are you going to be sitting with Martinez this weekend, eating government cheese, wondering why the best team in the state, D1 included, is not playing, while the BETTER TEAM, HPA is playing in Kauai?

What is tragic is that you are pretending to be someone Arnold and back yourself up when it's clear that no one else agrees with you. Why is that?

Wow, at least you are admitting that you do not have a very extensive bank of vocabulary words. Would you like a word wall to help increase reading fluency or word identification? Here's a free pointer for you. If you read more, you would be able to recognize more words. But, identifying your cognitive and intelligence level, you probably want to start reading something at your level such as Clifford the Bid Red Dog. I hope that helps!

Hurts when all you can do is personally attack Martines and can't dispute the fact that the film I recorded shows exactly what I'm saying is true. You can't dispute me so you attack Martines. Sad.

Took your advice, googled it, here is what I got,"Spot-On was a brand name for a line of toy cars and commercial vehicles built in Northern Ireland (UK). Spot-on is also British slang meaning "just so" or "exactly right".Please excuse me, I'm not british, or lived in Northern Ireland. Now that I know the meaning, the refs were not spot-on. Maybe they were spot-off.

Wow..so you wanna name names on here? Not cool. I guess that means you're a part of this team and you know the inside scoops. So you also know what the coach is really like. No wonder he sits alone at team dinners. True character shows when you lose, not when you win. The refs made bad calls, I agree. But making that comment about being the better team is in bad taste. Makes our program look bad, makes our boys look bad. Our boys are great kids, respectful and very close. I feel bad for them.

Not cool? Name names? No one thinks twice about naming Martinez. You may not agree with him but do we really need to watch Moanalua air their dirty laundry on these blogs? Bad calls are made in a lot of games. Everyone grumbles about it. Move on people. Give the Coach the right to say what he feels he needs to say and move on. If not, at least have the courage to say it to his face. Geez, drama at Moanalua? Moanalua? I thought only Kahuku had this type of drama! Star-Bulletin, close down the blogs. Nothing but trolls on here!

If there is a problem at Moanalua, they should take care of it. Not here, but at the school. If nothing gets done, oh well. If the parents don't like it, then do something about it. Talk to the higher ups people.
