He was definitely one of the best football coaches in the state! Just a shame when a person gets distracted from the task at hand! We need to get a new coach/athletic director from outside the area. Need some new blood infused in the program! or at least that's my thought on the subject! How about considering Bo Barton from Caldwell or better yet, Stephen Dupont from Rayville or Coach Raley from DCS? just some suggestions and/or food for thought!!

Mothergoose,
What do you mean by distracted from task at hand. I have known Vic for several years. He doesn't get distracted. You can contact me at [email protected]

Well congratulations on your knowing a GREAT man and COACH! Perhaps my wording should not have been 'distracted' but saying RESIGNING from the task at hand! I meant that he resigned/distracted (whatever word describes it) as the GREATEST High School Football in Louisiana history! I do not know WHY he resigned--just that it's a BIG Loss to OGHS! So whatever angle you are reading in my comment--it's not there. Now you are making me curious about why you would be so defensive about these comments? Is there more to this story (than the story, as reported on TV sports-of that of a longtime, successful high school coach who is looking to consider other options & spend time with his family ).
Do I still need to contact you? We can have a few beers, discuss the good old days of OGHS football, view some DOME films, etc. Do they serve alcohol in West Carroll these days? Oh, and BTW, noting your email address-thank you for your service to the U.S. Thank you for your asking for clarification on my comments. I'm very sorry if you felt offended by them.

Actually, I've never known VIC to QUIT at anything but he Resigned from his position! Thus, I should have said, shouldn't QUIT the task at hand (coaching football at it's best). Clarification enough? Godspeed and safety to you as a member of our military. We appreciate you!

I dont know how well either of you know Vic ! And don't really care. However he was distracted, and it's not the first time he's been distracted ! There is more to this story than most people know. For the Good of the students and school in general he is gone, not on his own will but forced into leaving before there was other issues. I was ashamed when a select few thought they had enough clout to try and save his job. Cuddos to the School Board for a job well done. We now have a new outside coach and I can say it was much needed. I don't have a hard on for Vic, but our country is losing its morals little by little and this was a good move by the school board. I have lived here all my life graduated school here played ball with Vic and was coached by his dad. He has shamed OG and needed to be replaced. That Is All !!!!!!

Who cares y'all. Everyone at least wants to do what he did, most do, few are caught. I came across this on accident. Why don't everyone mind their own business and lives. I'm sure he made that mistake more than once oh he didn't it only happened one time. Oh well I don't care. He was great bck when he coached me and was Still just as good when all this shit happened. I have no problems with coach Vic. I still like him and miss May. So peace out maybe I'll c-ya in the duckblind.
