A 5 point lead with 40 seconds remaining in the game and still Rushville manages to lose! Downright pathetic! Everything's riding on this game; there's everything to play for, and then the "mighty" Rushville Lions choked. The Lions played not to lose, and thus they ended up playing scared. If Rushville can find a way to lose, by golly they find it.

Too bad you have so little in your life that you have to take it out on a bunch of kids. Give 'em a break and give it a rest. Do you not think that these kids are beating themselves up enough that you have to do it too? Grow up

Its people like you who make Rushville seem like a bad place. The boys had a great season (18-2 reg. season, Co HHC champs). They started the game off strong but Shelbyville was able to capitalize on Rushvilles mistakes. Shelbyville was pretty good I must say (14-7). They played Rushville very close during the regular season and only lost by 3. They were out for revenge and played well when it counted. It still hurts losing the first game of sectionals but they played much better during the regular season, under Coach Bowen, than last year. The boys attitudes were much better and they really wanted to play basketball. Yes I know it was the same result as last year but I am still a proud Lion fan. Don't just point out the negative things. Shelbyville played hard and won the game. Good luck to all the Rushville Senior players in their future.

Seem??? Rushville IS a bad place - especially to look at! Rushville looks bad; I mean it looks REALLY bad - especially in comparison to the way it used to look several years ago. Just drive around town. The town is crumbling away.

Then get the f*ck out Joe. If it is so damn bad, go find another f*ckin town to run down. Get a life man. This is a high school basketball game. We are suppose to teach our kids to be good sports win or lose and yet we have f*cks like you bad mouthing a high school team. No wonder why our world is slowing going down hill. Get a life man. These are kids, not professional athletes.

If you hate the town and it disgusts you so much leave. If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem! Help do something about it or shut your mouth!
However disappointing the outcome of Tuesday's game was the season over all was a success! I enjoyed going to every boys game this season! Our new coach did a great job of reining in some really talented boys and the boys worked their tails off!
No matter what it is a season to be proud of!
Joe what have you done lately?

The new coach (Bowen) did a fantastic job of molding these undisciplined mounds of clay into basketball players. Next year with seven seniors gone, all he'll have left to work with are mounds of clay. Period!

A high school with a successful basketball program is going to snatch away Coach Bowen with an offer he can't refuse. I recommend Coach Bowen take it before the locals make his life miserable. Remember all the grief former Rushville coaches Ken Stanley, Kendall Wildey, Jerry Craig, Kerry Brown and Dan Carmony had to endure from the locals?

I recommend Coach Bowen go on to bigger and better things like former Rushville coach Mike Broughton did in winning a state high school basketball championship as head coach down in Jeffersonville. Coach Bowen deserves success like that. He won't get it in Rushville.

Myron-do you really think Bowen is that shallow?

How do you know that next year's team will be only clay that can't be molded? If I remember, this year's Seniors did not have an outstanding year last year and we all see how they developed. I bet you've never seen a JV game.

As far as coaches of the past, it has been discussed, and determined that Rushville is not the only place this happens. There are reasons it happened, believe me. Bowen is nothing like Stanley, Craig, Brown etc. So IT IS OVER! DROP IT, MOVE ON, QUIT BEATING A DEAD HORSE.

Have to agree with Myron. While Coach Bowen is winning and the Rushville locals are not hounding him to death, he should seriously look at communities where the coach is treated with respect and where the coach has a chance to win consistently. With 7 seniors gone next season the losses will add up, which means Coach Bowen will receive hate mail and cursing from the stands that would make a sailor blush. Coach Bowen, I would entertain any and all offers to coach elsewhere while you have the chance and while you still have your sanity.

The kids on last year's team made a great effort too, but they failed in their sectional game just like this year's team failed in their sectional game.
Now THAT's failure!!!

No one believes you. Especially the former RCHS coaches that were harrassed, maligned, and run out of town on a rail by these hate-filled Rushvillains.

Well, the honeymoon period between the boys basketball coach and the Rushville fans is now officially over. With all of Rushville's star boy players gone for next season, Rushville will return to its customary losing ways. It's gonna get ugly for the Rushville boys coach this fall. I'm feeling sorry for coach Brian Bowen already!

Remember back in 1976 when RCHS was the state runner-up in basketball? Rushville's two stars at that time, Brad Miley & Rick Goins, both were seniors. Of course the team went to hell the following year losing big time.

This year, Rushville's two stars, Jon Thompson & Spencer Comer, are seniors. But they couldn't even win ONE game in the sectionals. With Thompson & Comer gone for next season, the RCHS boys' basketball team should be even worse than hell.
