I use to live close to St. Louis and I am actually a huge, huge fan of Guy's work. His self educated knowledge is priceless and I go to MO every year fossil hunting, rockhounding and canoeing!
I hadn't heard anything on Guy in years and its nice to hear his work is still in progress down there. I am amazed to hear that Missourians are showing a lack of interest in their state's dinosaur finds. What a shame!

Who the hell cares?!! If you ask me dinosaur bones are becoming "extinct". What I mean is, how much information can we learn from the same ole bones? We are far more advanced then that.

If you don't care then why did you respond to the article? LOL What a hoot!

Dana, We live close to Mastodon Historic Site and State Park in Imperial Mo. It is really nice and the kids really enjoy seeing the museum and movie. They can also walk down to the pits where the digging took place. Kids love dinosaur's and always will. The past comes back into all of our minds when we see these old bones.

Because I was bored...there are a lot more important issues to be discussed. Our world is going to hell and you are talking about dinosaur bones. Get a life!

Proud Are you doing anything to stop the events taking place in our world today. I have seen many events take place in my 68 years including several wars. Even though you may not like it History is a part lives. Maybe your the one who needs to chill out and get a life.

Hi Facts! Nice to hear a shout from someone in Missouri with an interest in fossils.
Proud even if our world is in the mist of a change it does not mean that we have to stop enjoying it today.

I seriously doubt that a few old bones are going to have a major affect on the future. I do take an interest in history but mostly I am concerned about the future. You should be as well. I'm sure you have children and grandchildren and would be more worried abou them being able to survive. I am actually doing plenty in the world today. I'm serving the the military to protect your freedoms which are slowly but surely becoming obsolete.

Your just a bunch of old bones so why don't you just close your trap or say something that means something to someone.

No Proud a few old bones will not have a major affect on the future. I'm glad you serving in the military to protect my future. The truth is many of my family served in the military to protect my future and that includes great grandfather - Civil War, father WW11, husband - Korean and more recently two of my sons. Sorry Proud but you not the only one who has served to protect the future. Yes we should be concerned with the future but not to the point where we are afraid to live our lives and learn about the past or present.

Well I don't care if Proud is serving a gov. mil. that is currently making our freedoms become obsolete as he claims. I also don't need a stranger to tell me what I should care about.
After listening to him whine I am going to make sure I get a couple of extra days in of fossil hunting in over in Missouri next month. While breathing the fresh air and soaking up the sun while am canoeing and fossil hunting I will smile thinking of how I might not be saving the world but at least I am enjoying it. LOL

Hey not sure who your talking to but if it's me then yep I am a bunch of old bones. In a couple years these bones will be 70 but darn that is not old enough to be pre historic. lol I will say what I want when I want and I really don't care if it means anything to anyone else. At least I'm not rude or ignorant and if you think I'm talking about you well if the shoe fits.

Salin county Mo. has some artifacts. It leans more too the Osage Indian Tribe, however. Treasures are mentioned.

LOL Thanks for assuming I am a male...which i am not thank you. Another thing, you can care about whatever you want but you are the one that has to live in this world and if I were you I would care about more important things.

I know I am not the only one serving...and thanks for that piece of history on what other's have done to help protect our future instead of what YOU have done. I don't agree with everything that is going on these days and will try my best to make the world a better place. I would love to live in a world where the most important things are a bunch of old bones but unfortunately that is not the case. Though I agree you shouldn't walk around everyday worrying about what is going to happen to the world I do believe we should be doing everything we can to ensure our survival. Everyone has the right to enjoy the world we are living in...like your dinasaur bones for example. But I would be more concerned about global warming...etc..so I can actually ENJOY LIVING.

What ever.... In all your ranting that you have done here, do you think you have done one thing to help global warming?

What I have done is serve in the military from 1965 to 1973. That , if you think about that time frame, along with the U. S.Constitution, gives me the right to enjoy and care about every aspect of life including the history of "bones". We can't spend every moment of our lives worrying about all of the bad things in our world. Be happy for the good things that are also in it.

I rarely post but I just had to laugh at how some of you got all uppity and felt you needed to rebut Pound's comments. He did what he meant to, stir up controversy and you fell for it.
