compliments of Dr. A Rockoff
"If people could spread warts from their hands to their genitalia (or anywhere else), every wart patient would be covered with warts. This does not happen. You do not need to assume that you spread the warts from hand to penis. I am in fact skeptical that the bumps on the penis are warts at all, even if they look the same to you. I strongly urge you to get them examined and treated if needed. But even if they are warts, there is, I repeat, no reason to think you spread them by masturbation. Either you were exposed a long time ago, or else they were not even sexually transmitted. Practically speaking, to doesn't matter much. But I repeat--don't assume they're warts. Find out for sure.
Best.
Dr. Rockoff"

just recently i found a large bump around my vaginal area that had some kind of liquid in it (i dont know what it looked like i didnt see it) and my boyfriend and i do things like that often and he has a wart on the finger he uses...im terrified because ive never had anything like that until now so could anybody help me out here? is there any connection? or could you tell me what it might be?
You should get that checked out...if it has liquid in it, i could be herpes as herpes lesions typically form as blisters that turn into open sores.

this was usefull information since i have a habbit of biting the skin on my fingers and i now have a total of 16 between both hands. next to nail. i figured i just gotta stop and its really embarrising having em its allmost impossable ot hide. but yea ill just stop biting em for my sake. if anyone has same problem and found a way to stop pls email me at z0mgn0r00t@aim.com thnx
My boyfriend had them all over his hands when we first got together and eventually they went away on their own. The doctor would have removed them, but because he had so many they said it would be a bad idea.

I don't think anyone knows the answer to this question because the opinions on this forum by both individuals and professionals vary too much. I have 4 warts on my finger that I am currently treating with compound w. I had them deep inside my girlfriend's pussy last night. I sure hope she dosent get them...I don't think warts would be fun to lick...dosent anyone have the true answer to this dilemma???

Genital warts are caused by syphilis. It can be cured with medicine, but can be a very damaging venereal disease if left untreated. Get to a doctor asap!

My brother had some warts and he remove them by burning them with a red-hot knife. My brother recommended this to another friend who burned one with a cigar. He told us that he burned one and the other (about 15 of them) remove themselves within couple weeks from his hand (which was very rare).

I am treating my son with the same, it is a little bit painful but needed.

Note: they need to be burned really well otherwise they will become really strong. email iceteru@hotmail.com for other comments.

I had a wart on my finger. i got it treated. but now i have 4 in the same spot i got that one treated. i also have a few on my foot. if what people are saying is true, that you can transmit it to your own genitals but it is a different strain than genital warts. can the hand wart type be treated and gotten rid of on the genitals just like it can be on your hands?

I had common warts on my hands about 7-8 on one and about 2 on the other, also had one on my knee. I of course let them go to long without treatment as the store bought kits just didnt work. I then saw a doc about them and he used liquid nitrogen to burn them off, the one on my knee was gone first treatment but because the skin on your hands is so thick it took multiple treatments to remove them from my hands. After months of treatment they started going away on there own. Doc said my body was naturaly fighting them just needed help. I recomend seeing a dermitoligist for this beacuse they can perscribe painkillers casue its tough to use your hands when they are covered in blisers. Now after breaking off a multi-year relationship im being told by my ex that she has them on her genitals and that I gave them to here, this was two-three years ago I had them removed. Did I give them to her? I nevver noticed them down there but she stoped shaving a while ago.

I asked the Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, Dermatology Department.
YES, warts on your hand CAN spread to both your OWN genitals AND that of a partner.

HPV, very simply, is the virus that causes warts. And by warts, I mean any wart - the wart on your hand, the wart on your nose, the plantar's wart on your foot. There are some 110 strains of it, though, and around 23 of them are sexually transmitted. Note that the other 50-some are not. This means that if you have warts on your hands and feet - most commonly caused by HPV types 1 and 2 - then you will not transmit them to your genitals, because types 1 and 2 do not infect the genitals. Likewise, the types that do infect the genitals will not infect other parts of the body such as the hands and feet. The reason for this is that the virus is very picky about the type of skin it likes to infect. Now the types of HPV that are sexually transmitted cause one of two things: either genital warts or dysplasia.

Common warts ("flat warts") can and easily do spread to the genitals, wheras "genital warts" form on the genitals and other places, including the lips and throat. The information "quoted" by several posters is serious misinformation that applies only to contagious "genital warts," not to contagious flat warts on the genitals which are extremely common. There are hundreds of strains out there, all are contagious, and some genital wart viruses cause cancer. Even if you don't see the warts, your doctor can test you to see if you have the virus. My doctor diagnosed me with the most dangerous form that causes cancer, though I do not have cancer. Please talk to your doctors.

According to the government run medical encyclopedia 'Medline Plus' you cannot get genital warts from common warts. See http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/artic... for details.
