Surgery Coming Up

I have an upcoming surgery (major) coming up next month and I have spinal cord injuries along with autonomic nervous system disorder and autonomic dysreflexia and I know anesthesia is risky with these disorders.
How do I prepare myself for this knowing I could go into cardiac arrest doing surgery? Is there anything I can do to make the surgery go well and will the surgeon know how to handle my situation?
I guess I am wondering if anyone else has gone through major surgery and have ANS or AD with success.
Thanks I hope someone will answer.
