Susan Jagers acknowledges they did their job! Therefore has she assumed at least partial responsibility for the Fraud and corruption committed in this process? Whether or not the ban is overturned should not grant immunity to those who participated in and directed these crimes against democracy. I am beggining to believe this is a case where they did not believe they would get caught and if they did it would not matter. It only contributes to the perception of the corruption involved in political action groups and further tarnishes the image of the American cancer Society.

Much as you might wish it, we will never get rid of cigarettes. Fools will always want to smoke, and just like hard drugs there will always be someone ready to sell to them. Why give drug dealers another source of hard cash? Do you really think someone should go to jail because they smoked a cigarette?

The state officials fail to perform their job duties and ensure the laws and regulations are upheld. Then when they don't they say oops sorry we can't do anyting about it.

This is a dangerous slope they entered for the Ohio residents. Not just for the smoking ban but for any issue that enters a ballot.

The votes don't count. The issue was not to be on the ballot therefore all votes casted toward it are irrelavent.

Ohio removes the issue out of law and pays for damages. Those who were involved in getting on the ballot illegally need sued for civil damages.

In a time when Ohio has already lost thousands of jobs it would be irresponsible to contribute any further to their demise by killing small business.

Damages paid would allow small busniness to reopen and jump start the economy.

Some of your comments make me sick to my stomach. Do you realize you have taken the right of Veteran's to smoke in "THEIR" own established clubs away? I have done the research, the majority of these veterans want to sit around and smoke. They should have that right to do as they please in THEIR own club. They have fought for this country, some have paid their dues with loss of their own limbs. This smoking ban in my opinion is a crime. It is NOT what I voted for. And I can find quite a few others who agree, they were for some sort of public ban but was under the impression our veterans clubs would be left alone. For those of you who have such negative impressions of smokers, walk into a veteran's club and tell the men and women who fought for your freedom how you really feel about them. You people make me sick!

Go ahead get the needed signatures to put it back on the ballot and then vote again. The result will be the same. No smoking in Restaurants and Bars...
But my Birdie do we forget the Casino will be here in a year or so and isn't a little funny that talk of this ban is now rearing its ugly little head. People love to gamble, drink, and smoke, sometime people want to do all three at the same time. A gambler is not going to leave the table if they have streak going for a ciggy break.

I would not be suprised to find it back on the ballot just in time for Ohioians to vote and the Casino to be open.I think we would find the ballot to be better worded and would exclude restaurants, as it should. I am a smoker and I was never in support of the ban because I felt it took away my freedom of choice. They never ban drinking from restaurants, and people drive home from these establishments drunk, but it is not okay to smoke and socialize at the same time.

I think they should ban smoking from restaurants because of families that go there, but I beleive they should keep alcohol and keep in bars only. What is good for one, is good for all.

What really irks me on here is how people refer to smokers as losers! Whatever! So our Veterans, parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and leaders are all losers?

Show me some statistics about smoking and driving related crashes/deaths that occurred because someone smoked one to many.

Show me some statistics about the rise of domestic violence because a spouse came home after smoking a pack of cigs.

Show me some statistics about homes and families breaking up because the smoking got between them.

I can tell who the real losers are: The Alcoholics that beat their spouses, children, and cause fatal car accidents. These are the biggest losers, not smokers!

This comes as no surprise to us in the UK, certain anti smoking groups and registered charities petition their own members to justify their case. We have detected clear fraud in polls conducted by these organisations also but nothing is ever done. We know if the reverse were to happen the courts seem to find some way to disallow pro choice petition as they did in Scotland.

Oh wait, why am I bothering with you? You're a wonderful role model, if I read correctly in a previous post, you are a former (or current) pole dancer...what an inspiration, I want to be just like you....<GAG>

"Band Mom" I maintain you must have a problem. If you were sitting in your car i would say the problem is somewhere between the steering wheel and the seat. I've NEVER said most smokers are degenerates Ect.. So you see I'm notsaying you are a degenerate ect. I do however believe you are a slow learner. bummer. PS/ Yes, I've worked as a cage & pole dancer. You should give it a try. You would find it gives you a great workout. >;~)

You are so right. It is simply astounding that in the same week the anti-smokers took South Dakota to court for attempting to put the smoking ban on a ballot, this news of fraud from the anti-smokers was released. The ACS, ironically accused South Dakota of fraudulent names on their petition. Luckily, the judge in that case saw through their lies and agenda and ruled for the petitioners.
