The new electronic cigarettes are the way to go. I picked up an awesome starter kit from http://www.smokelessdelite.com and was very happy with the delivery time, and quality of the product. Check them out at www.smokelessdelite.com

If anyone has any questions regarding the electronic cigarette, please feel free to ask! I do a lot of writing and research on these wonderful little things and if you are looking for a way to change your smoking habits, beat the smoking bans, and replace those nasty FSC's, feel free to contact me. http://www.e-cig.org

For those interested, set your DVR for "The Doctors" on January 7th, 2009. They have added the electronic cigarette to their top 10 list of Health products for 2008. http://www.thedoctorstv.com/

I started using the e-cig today and at first I thought it was great, but now I already have a red bump on my lip, the cartridge is leaking fluid (nicotine - yikes!!) and I feel kinda shaky. Is this normal? I've been careful not to over-puff and therefore over-dose.

Ok. Leaking is not good, but it does happen and it is nothing to worry about. The shakyness is nicotine and nerves. What kind do you have? If you can give me the name off of the box and even a model number from your instruction book... I can help you. The nicotine cartridge is probably in wrong and I can walk you through it if you need it.

Thanks for responding so quickly. I really need this to work for me as I have been recently diagnosed with the early stages of emphysema after smoking for 34 years (I'm only 47). Anyway, I bought the Njoy NPRO model and cartridges and the minute I removed the plastic cap from the cartridge it leaked - is that supposed to happen? I put the cartridge on as tightly as possible but realized during today that it was leaking in the bag I had placed it in. Also, what's with the red bumps on my lips? do you have any info on that? it's really hard to get good information on the net for these products. I appreciate your insight.:-)

i'm sorry to hear about the emphysema. hopefully making a change for you will help slow down the issues.

they do leak a little bit. they shouldn't be leaking that bad. my suggestion is this. take out another cartridge and try it. If you look into the cartridge you will notice that the nicotine pad has a slight "u" shape. Make sure you line that up with the atomizer (the silver u shape that is connected to the battery). Then make sure it is on nice and tight. Give it a few puffs and see if that works.

as far as the red bumps, the nicotine solution is highly concentrated so it is possible that you got too much in one spot. I have gotten a bit on my hands and I have highly sensitive skin and I did "itch" a little. Since lips are extremely sensitive, this could be the problem. I have never had any complaints on this though. Do you have issues with polyglycol? You will know if you have issues with toothpaste and common lotions.

Let me know what happens. If you want, feel free to email me at lacey at e-cig.org . I will help you get this working. The NPro is the style that we sell (though not the brand) and I smoke one every day so we can get you through this :)

thanks, i appreciate your help, i truly do. i put it away for today. the symptoms i had yesterday were not enjoyable. I felt very wired and my lips and throat felt uncomfortable. The leak seems small but constant. I'm not comfortable getting concentrated nicotine on my hands and lips every time I use it !! I'm going to regroup on the weekend and try again. How long have you been using the ecig? again, thank you so much for your support.

thanks for the thanks, but no problem. I have been using mine for almost a year and a half. I am not faithful to it because, unlike yourself.. I do not have to... yet. I want to be.

If you try again and get yours to work properly and find that the little red bump stays or comes back and you really want to try and get the e-cig to work for you, Johnson Creek (US company) is a manufacturer of e-liquid and they have a vegetable based e-liquid for you to try. You might be having a reaction to the pg. Do you ever have issues with toothpastes or lotions?

no issues with toothpaste or lotions, but I felt the liquid actually burn my lip ! how does the e-liquid work - can you use it in a "spent" cartridge?

Then you are probably not having an allergic reaction to the pg. It is probably a large amount of the nicotine solution in one place.

Yes. You can take three drops of e-liquid and place it on the nicotine pad. JC also offers a syringe to help you get it in there so you don't get it on your hands. I always suggest that after about 5-10 refills, it is a good idea to purchase a small pack of cartridges and use them, disposing of the re-used ones. This way, you are getting a "clean" butt every once in awhile. Especially if you get a cold. Just like changing your toothbrush after illness.

If you go the e-liquid route, you can save even more money than with the cartridges. There are concerns that the e-liquid bottles are not childproofed, so definitely keep your bottle out of reach of pets and kids.

okay, so I was afraid to try it again after what happened last week, but i dragged it out again today and I have had no problem and great success. I have now been 14 hours smoke-free. I know that doesn't sound like alot, but I am a chain smoker, 30-40 a day!! So, it's a mini miracle I've gone this long. I notice that it gives me a slightly scratchy throat, hope this goes away.

It will. I had it for the first two days. I converted to full e-cig on Sunday so if you ever need a partner in getting through the no tobacco... you've got one! Good luck!

Ugh, i had such an upset stomach, scratchy throat and felt all jittery by the end of the day. I caved and smoked the real deal. Let me ask you, I think I'm puffing on the e-cig too much, maybe that's what's causing the problem. I smoke it like its a real cigarette all day long. I guess that wasn't really a question (ha ha) more of a statement or thinking aloud, but perhaps I just need to use it when I feel absolute desperation? How often do you use it daily? Thanks again for your support.

Hi, I have a question I hope someone can help? I bought the Premium smokeless delite for my husband the new 2 piece ones. We got it today I charged it for 4 hours and my husband tried it and it keeps leaking e-liquid while he is puffing on it. It also loses the "draw" (that is is what he calls it) I guess it mans the nicotine. after one puff. Any suggestions as to why it is leaking?
I really am at a loss Ive purchased so many in the last 2 months. the 901 4 different ones from different company's. and now the smokeless delite. My husband was a 2 pack a day smoker and does not want to smoke anymore but i can't get these things to work right for him and he is very frustrated. I would appreciate any help.
