I don't think they have that quite right. I may be wrong but my understanding is that 40% of cigarettes are sold to mentally people. That should not be taken as to mean that 40% of the smokers are mentally ill.Remember,the mentally ill may smoke more that other people.

Now I was just going to mention that. Kent is a real fool. He once was a ladies man here I see, but the ladies got smart. Stay out of adult conversation Kent. You never have anything to say that is your own idea. You just add child like remarks and maybe a cut and paste here and there which never impresses many people who can think for them-selves. Like you say, Buzz off.

Fank you toe-rag for dropping in to validate HB's claim that radical anti's are mentally ill. BTW you have yet to post anything past the third grade level here. Try the "I need a nanny forum" you will fit right in. |
||||
What are "mentally" people? |
||||
You never responded to the Harvard research I posted about why more schizophrenics smoke. Did you read it? |

Well, little kenny, I see you still have nothing SUBSTANTIVE to add to the forums. You might want to take a writing course at the community college where you could learn to put your thoughts down. You may also want to take up a debate course since you are so thoroughly lacking in any ability needed to successfully participate in a battle of the wits. By the way, do not feel too bad about to 40% of cigarette purchases that are made by mentally ill people. That means that 60% of the purchases are made by people who are not mentally ill. About 6 in 10 smokers are not mentally ill. Of course, if I were a betting individual, I would go against te odds in your case and bet you fell in the 40%. Don't worry about me dissing you. Sassy will come here later and defend you just like your little sister did when you were in 6th grade and the 3rd graders beat you up. |

Is that the best you can come up with you slimy little half pint poser? |
||||
You are the dumb one, aren't you. I kind of feel bad getting on old timers, but I feel you have it coming. I bet you never were popular in school, were you? With your attitude you would of got the crap kicked out of you on a daily basis. I see you take a stompin here too. Some people never learn. I found most guys like you are nothing more that computer worms. All talk, no walk. Nothing but a tired old man who never did nothing his whole life and has nothing to show for an entire life. Now it dwindled down to bitchingg on the computer, because in real life you would be defenseless. |

That is quite true in most cases of anti-anything's. However, it is true that most smokers are mentally ill or are using smoking as a way to deal with problems in their lives, something that I cannot understand them doing. Sex.... okay, that I can understand them using, it doesn't harm them at all, unless the person they doink has an STD of some kind or they are stupid enough to not be on birth control in the case of women. Drugs.... again, I can understand them using that, it doesn't harm anyone unless they get hooked on it, which they would have less chance of doing if drugs were made legal. But smoking..... THAT can lead to cancer, emphysema, and a bunch of other health problems, so I don't know why people go there. |

I thought that too until I read this: "The report shows that people with mental illness make up 38 per cent of all smokers. This group also tends to smoke more heavily than others, buying 42 per cent of the cigarettes sold in Australia each year." http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22907275... So even though mentally ill people DO buy a greater proportion of cigarettes, this report reckons that 38% of ALL smokers ARE mentally ill. That really is quite a dramatic bit of information, we do not know how accurate that is, but even if it was half that figure it would still be shocking to most people. |
|||
Maybe, but then I stopped and thought about it. 30 years ago 40% of the Australian population smoked. I'd be curious to know how many were reformed smokers who took it back up again after falling mentally ill. |

Whats funny about this report is: The non smoking zealots are more interested in helping them to stop smoking then curing thier illness.?
So what you zealots are saying is you would be more satisfied to have mentally ill non smokers running around untreated for thier illness? So am I.!! Then they can figure that group of people in with your groups numbers. Which would read 38% of the non smokers are mentally ill. Nice try though ! You non smoking zealots still dont make good sense. Who knows maybe Eric Johnson, JustCandid, u(_o_)u,Socrates,xsmoker2 could be the mentially ill who have quit smoking and have been already added to you groups numbers ??? |

Couldn't you clarify your post by linking to a story about a pedophile or serial killer? You know how much more relevant your posts are to the smoking issue when you do that...... |
