Hi all! First of all, let me say that I am a teacher and my breath smells horrible. I have noticed my students and my co-workers covering their noses when I am speaking, and it is killing my self-esteem. I have great oral hygiene, so I don't understand why 30 minutes after I brush my teeth, my breath is smelling bad again, I don't know what to do. Talking is how I am able to do my job effectively. I am truly thinking about leaving the education profession because I do not want my students and co-workers to have to deal with my problem. I don't know what elso to do...

I was a teacher for 35 years. One of the reason that I retired is because of my bb. I've always had it despite going to specialists and spending a lot of money. I was tired of hearing students commenting about my bb. My reputation used to be that as a good teacher. As I became older, my rep was becoming the teacher with the horrible breath. It really affected my ability to do my job well. It's hard to teach well when you become paranoid about speaking. Severe bb really is a problem. I suffer with all of the worst smells described by others. For me, sitting next to someone in church is the worst. I've had people cover their nose and mouth with their hands, eventhough I'm not talking; it's that bad. I don't like going anywhere, because I'm tired of offending people, besides they feel we are trifling and just don't brush our teeth. It's a big joke to others. Anyway, I know exactly how you feel. I wish I knew of a cure for us. To you, stay strong and positive. At least we know that there are others who are going through the same thing. It helps to know that we are not alone.

Now this is the only advice I've for many on here especially those who have seen specialists and still no positive result.I will say it again,if u have not seen a GI doctor to look at your esophagus through a process called endoscopy then don't give up.Try endoscopy. Most bad breath that has been ruled out by your dentistist is definitely gastrointestinal. It makes sense because the odor couldnt be coming from your hand, leg or hand.If it is coming from your mouth, then it must be from your stomach if dental problem has been ruled out.
Lastly,if endoscopy does not see anything and your GI rules out any gastrointestinal issues, then let Homeopathy be your last resort.Homeopathy worked for me before after six yrs.My BB just came back after I ignorantly took antibiotics and that's why I'm pretty sure this might be candida and reason why I want to do endoscopy to know what this monster that has ruled life is all about. If my GI fails, then Homeopathy is the last I will try before I give up.

Like most people here, I also have bad breath! based on people's reaction when I talk, I think its pretty bad! I don't how my breath smells. I don't know if i have dry mouth, vitamin deficiency or something else is causing it. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy to rule out stomach problems...but i believe i could still have digestion problems because while they did the procedure I was on laxatives.

I brush 2-3 times a day floss and also scrape my tongue really well...After like an hour or so, the breath returns.. I felt confident and spoke to someone after my morning oral routine(before breakfast) and i saw him passing his finger on his nose..I don't know what else i can do..I cannot be in the bathroom for 2 hours!

My coworker says she has gum disease...but i never smell her breath.. why me?!? I see this girl at works she drinks coffee and eats a lot during the day....I am afraid to eat anything at work thinking my breath will stink...well regardless of that it still smells and what i hate is that even chewing gum does not help me....One day I had to go to my boss for a meeting..so i popped a gum in my mouth...guess what he smelled my breath...I literally finished a whole pack of gum in one day....its not like it helped!

Whenever i utter a word out of my mouth the other person either moves away or do gestures that they smell it...Its not their fault my breath smells OK it does smell...but i don't know what to do...I was so patient until but i am at the verge of giving up! I am tired...People probably have the impression that I don't properly brush that's obviously not the case! people suffering from this problem know this but most people assume oral hygiene to be the cause

Hey Nyorker, I was equally thinking of doing endoscopy.Did the doctor show you the picture of your esophagus?Carefully check if there are white spots on it.This could be fungus. Most of them do this procedure and they ignore it because of them don't know about this candida of a thing.I am getting my endoscopy end of the month.
The truth is that you shouldn't give up.If u have tried every allopathic approach and to no avail, try homeopathy.See a classical homeopath.Don't buy the med(remedies) over the internet.I swear with my life that stuff works;it helped me six years ago but antibiotic brought it back.I kow mine is candida.I will try the endoscopy to make sure my esophagus is ok.If it doesn't work,I am going back to homeopathy as a last resort.Good luck

I've suffered from this condition for about 6 years now. The psychological damage has been just about crippling. Your life is literally just gone. I don't leave the house except to go to work and at work I am treated so badly that it takes every ounce of fiber in my bones not to just go postal in the place. Three months ago they started disbursing a steady flow air freshner fragrance in my cubicle and on most days that's for the entire 8 hours. I've tried so so many things: Every mouthwash on the market, tonsils taken out, acid reflux, gallbladder checked, I use to have a little bit of a stomach and I lost almost 15 pounds and that didn't help, I had an endoscopy/colonoscopy done, I've taken vitamins, I eat only vegetables, and would eat fruit but someone said because of the acid in fruit that could cause problems, I thought at one time I needed more acid so I started taken HCL tablets (this has cured many people), I stopped eating dairy long long ago thinking that I might be lactose intolerant (this has also helped people), that didn't work either. I tried apple cider vinegar, baking soda, charcoal tablets, chlorophyl tablets, everything. I've literally sat in doctors office with my face drinched in tears begging them to help me. It is just so sad and its even sadder reading the stories of younger people on these boards that are confused. I just hope and pray that God will some day answer our prayers to be free of the curse.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Who knows - maybe there's something I haven't tried yet.
I've used Profresh mouthrinse for years. it is the only thing that works and i've tried everything possible. i hope this helps

I guess most of the smokers have bad breath, because tobacco is responsible for this, but there are many ways to improve your breath, you just have to find the right one for you.

okay well first of all, use mouthwash daily.
Brush your teeth and your tounge, the bad breath is mainly caused by the tounge were the bacteria stick on to.
Secondly try having yellow lemons 1/2 will be fine, keep sucking on them .. reason being it is acidic which kills bacteria.
hope this helps (:

My husbands breath smells like he is passing gas thru his mouth. It is so bad I always say brush your teeth but even after brushing flossing an mouthwash I can't stand it! It wakes me in the middle of the night and I almost throw up when he tries to kiss me. I love him so much and I told him and he is aware and says it comes from his stomache... He eats healthy doesn't smoke and refuses to waste $ on a doctor. Any natural remedies besides what is already mentioned above???????? Thanks!!

Hi All,

Just wanted to share a suggestion with everyone, maybe it may work for some.. it's called oil pulling..

check it out by googling it, best to use organic sesame oil to start.. swish it in the mouth for 15 minutes every morning before you eat or drink anything..

I have suggested this to several people with different ailments, and it seems to have made a difference for all of them.

would be interested to hear if this works for anyone!
