Interesting that we can skip over the entire information that Haitians (heterosexual, mind you) were contracting HIV at the same rate as homosexuals in the early 80s. So high was the prevelence of HIV in the Haitian American community that the CDC actually labled being Haitian as high a risk factor for HIV as being homosexual.
So, are we now going to argue that AIDS is a Haitian disease and better riddance to the Haitians as well? Are we going to completely forget that at the exact same time the homosexuals and Haitians were contracting this plague, so were our hemophiliacs, who had NO behavior patterns to put them at risk, save their lives depended upon the blood supplies of this nation?
Shall we also pretend that this epidemic hasn't swept across ALL walks of life in Africa, that 40 MILLION children will become AIDS orphans to this plague? Did THEY get this from the US homosexual community as well, just as the Haitians and the Hemophiliacs did?
Or MAYBE, we can quit playing such silly games and recognize that while the bath houses of San Fran did indeed spread this nastiness, it was NEVER the only place this was being spread, nor is it where the problem now lies. For heavens sake, HIV/AIDS is a HUMAN plague. And, HUMANS are contracting and dying from it all over the world. Its not even impacting the US with the severity that Africa has seen and India and other Asian nations are starting to see.
Quit being obtuse and trying to blame the homosexuals. This problem far exceeds the US gay population. It ALWAYS did. Its a smokescreen to make you feel safer in your little coccoon to try to focus and blame the gays. If it hadn't been a promiscious gay flight attendant who brought it to the US, it simply would have been a promiscious straight flight attendant. Maybe then we could skip this silly gave versus non-gay issue and get to the REAL issue.

Yup, that's why i was telling tamara she's narcissistic. To call a global pandemic which mostly and for a longer period, has been affecting Africa, a gay disease simply because gays were amoung the first to contract it in the US means a) you either think US is the only country in the world, or b) you think America is the most important country in the world.

You liberals just don't want to admit it do you. Gays started AIDS in the USA. And I also say NO MORE MONEY ON AIDS.
If lung cancer doesn't deserve more money for research then AIDS certainly doesn't. AIDS research gets more money then all diseases combined.
And you know it is such a waste because they will never find a cure. And do you know why they will never find a cure???
THINK ABOUT IT
It is ironic that you should bring up the underfunding of lung cancer research for comparative evaluation....
One of the reasons that we cant get money for research for Lung Cancer is because it has the same stigma attached to it as AIDS! Life style! The evangelicals,(I call them the children of Lucifer) say people contact Lung Cancer because they hang out in bars or blow weed at parties. It is the most deadly (of both sexes) and the least funded simply because of the unfounded stigma it carries. Hail Lucifer, fill the graveyards!!!

To be honest with everyone It disturbs me that people still sit back and argue about AIDS. In this day it doesnt really matter where it come from or who started it. When such a huge chunk of the population have AIDS, and you can't trust a sole. A large chunk of the population has AIDS just from having a selfish hetero partner. Alot of people are cursed with the disease from no action of their own say for instance contaminated blood. When I hear someone has AIDS i do not place judgement on them

The blood contamination issue is virtually nonexistent
in the United States today due to changes made in
the blood collection process years ago.

I'll let God do the judgment part, but it is fair to say that in the United States AIDS is the outcome
of one or more of three factors: 1) unprotected
sex with multiple partners, 2) a homosexual "life-
style", and 3) careless needle use among drug users.

If you do not engage in any of the above your odds
of contracting HIV-AIDS are virtually nil, despite
attempts by some groups and organizations to cause
you to believe otherwise.

Bill R, The saddest thing here are the newborns that have it. The wife does HIV/AIDS research and although I can't say the number of children she monitors, I can say that the number is higher than my age. For awhile thing here were pretty much on the decline but the last couple of years thing are starting to increase. I do agree with your assessment on the three factors for the US, but here it's the multi partners, and homosexual life style that are really in the forefront. For those here that can afford it having a second or third wife is not frowned upon. Of course they have condos on the opposite side of town.

I agree with your sentiments. My perception of
things, which may be in correct, is that in many
countries there remains tremendous ignorance about
HIV/AIDS and that, if this is the case, I am inclined
to feel for those who suffer for what they did not
know or did not deserve.

I am far less inclined to sympathy here in the U.S.,
where knowledge as to the cause and the necessary
precautions have been available for 20 years. For
infants and children, of course, but for anyone
engaging in dangerous behavior, there is seldom an
excuse. AIDS is avoidable 99.99999% of the time
with responsible behavior and ethics here in the U.S.

Liberals say they want to save people from AID's but they have no problem with people having anal sex and will defend the act. If liberals love homosexuals they would tell them to stop but they won't. They would rather use it as a political football even if people die from AID's. Liberals are void of logic. This is just one example. They also have a problem with logical progression and outcomes.

I know AIDís is spread not just with homosexuals but lets start with the most at risk group.
