I'm either onto something or I have a real coindence here. My son is on lamictal for Lennox Gastaut Syndrome (severe epilepsy). He was born with hydrocephalus and has cerebral palsy. He is 3 years old. Every day I crush up and pulverize his lamictal and wasn't mixing it with apple sauce because he was taking it well mixed with crushed up chewable tegretol. I can smell the fruity tegretol every day when I crush up the meds together. He's blown it out of his mouth by coughing...I've run my finger around the inside of the crusher to get it out. Well I am caucasion and am now pregnant with a 26 week old baby girl with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. First off, my race and the fact that she is a girl makes it even more difficult for me not to believe that my exposure to this drug, even though I did not ingest it by mouth, has something to do with this baby's birth defect. I've been turned down by one lawyer but keep looking. Maybe someone else will read this who is in my shoes.
