Hi all! Long story short Iím a three time scabies victim within a year. Permethrin 5% did the damage the first time around last year, but totally ineffective this one. Since July I tried on two separate occasions to defeat the bug with Permethrin 5% succesfuly so the first time in a three day regimen. The second time this year was a week ago, when after a very rapid onset with wide spread and heavy dermatitis from hyper sensitization of the skin I tried Permerthrin 5% alone for three days with no effect whatsoever, followed by one day 10% sulfur containing ointment Pomade de Azufre from Walgreens - nothing at all! After short panic I ordered tons of stuff online and in the mean time did another two days of Permethrin 5% the second of which I added Ivermectin 200 mcg/kg weight single doze - NADA! ZILCH!NOTHING! Yesterday with help of a relative I was able to obtain a prescription of 30% precipitated sulfur with 1.0 oz tea tree oil in Lubriderm medium with marvelous effect so far. All ingredients are available in Walgreens. You may however have to contact your physician to order the mixture, because the pharmacist would not perform it otherwise. In case you for any reasons are not able to execute this plan here is the alternative:
1) Buy online precipitated sulfur (emphasis on precipitated). Here is the link:
http://www.hometrainingtools.com/sulfur-30-g/...
2) Buy Lubriderm - 300 -500 ml (12-15 oz)
3) Buy Tea Tree oil 1.0 oz from Walgreen or elsewhere. Here is the link:
http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/finest-natur...
How to mix it:
Empty 1/3 of the Lubriderm content from the container and safe it for later use. Poor all the content of the sulfur bottle (30 grams of precipitated sulfur) in the Lubriderm container and add the 1.0 oz Tea Tree oil as well. Stir it well till you get a very homogenic mixture and apply from the neck down to your toes. The result is very pleasant odor on otherwise stinky sulfur with the benefits of Tea Tree oil which in vitro kills 100% of the Scabies mites.
How to apply:
It is a three day regimen. Apply from neck to toe for 24h. Shower it and repeat the application on a dry skin till the end of the third day.
Cover your mattress with impervious mattress sheet to prevent any residual odor. Leave all the linen of your mattress unchanged for the entire treatment course, then wash everything.
Caution!!! Donít touch your eyes with the mixture or else rinse them thoroughly with water.
Ask you doctor for skin allergy treatment with antihistamine medicine and Prednizolon orally.
Wash all your daily clothing at knight before you go to bad with hot water and change sleepers every morning with treated in hot water ones. In case you stay home for the entire three day treatment there is no need to change cloths.
Currently Iím on my second day treatment with visible improvement. Will keep you posted.
I guess that should do it. Good luck!

Here is a product I am thinking of ordering, it is Chigg-away by Humco. I've never used it before, but it looks very promising. it's used by the military to kill arthropods, specifically chiggers. Ingredients include precipitated sulfur 10% and benzocaine 5% in lotion.

Me Too Iíve red about your long battle with scabies to which I am very sympathetic. I have one only wish for you - just do the treatment I posted above and that for you would be the ultimate test - scabies or not. There is no data to support any resistance against the sulfur. If what you have is indeed a scabies infestation you would get rid of it with the described treatment. Once you are done with the treatment there will be only one existing problem for you to dill with and that is whatever is left on your skin as lesion (if any) would be anything but scabies - you follow me? Than you can turn your attention to treat the skin with appropriate medication which now would be free of scabies. For you however I would recommend one week of this regiment same ingredients as described in my thread but a little longer to cover the newly hatched eggs an conclude the whole cycle. Taking into consideration the skin quality after a long period of exposure to a different medication I would rather get a little bit thicker medium for the mixture like petrolatum jelly for example that would hold the sulfur attached to the skin for longer period of time.
I have in idea to take pictures on my current lesion and posted along with the ongoing treatment as a supporting evidence, the moment I learn how to do that.

There is a typographical error on the corticosteroid name - please read Prednison instead of Prednizolon.
Prednison comes in 5mg tablets and is taken in regression for 8th days cycle. Starting from day 8 (which is actually day one and that is for convenience) as follows: 8th day- 8tablets, 7th day- 7tablets, 6th day - 6 tablets and so forth till day one at the and when only one tablet is left. Ask me why is that if you donít know. Will explain

Today is my 3rd day of scabies treatment with sulfur and I can safely say they are gone. Please can anyone tell me if there is any way to post a picture along with the thread - I wont you guys to see the result. After a week those buggers destroyed my skin, or I become so sensitive to their waist that the whole skin was red and puffy like a pudding - a perfect soil for bacterial infection. Now it has subsided and all lesions are dying out.
