hst Lang,

going to go see a doctor I think I have what you described. crawling, occasional bitting but no burrowing or itching. this mostly effects my hair on my scalp.

what kind of mite did u have? I want to research and suggest this to the doc so he can send me to see a specialist.

diatom earth did work in the environment and cloth but nothing seems to work in the scalp I go back and fourth thinking it's mites, then under scalp parasites....

Need to ask everyone this. I feel like I am a leper. Don't want to go by anyone's home because I'm afraid they will catch this. Don't want to have anyone by my house for the same reason. My Dad is in the hospital at 88 yrs old and I can't even see him because I don't want him to catch this. Are all of you like this too? Do you not go anywhere or see anyone because they might catch it? It's bad enough at work when I see people scratch when they are by me. Went to the doctor yesterday and she scratched the entire time. So, this means we can't go anywhere or have anyone over until it is cleared up? Which could be never??? I am so lost..........
Hi lost, know where you're coming from. I work from home and occasionally have to have people over, and I get them to sit in the one leather chair all the time. I don't shake hands and rarely leave the house, maybe once a week. Unfortunately I have to catch the bus sometimes though I sit near a door or open window so hopefully don't infect anyone. I try not to touch anything other than what I'm buying at the supermarket. Very conscious of not inflecting these monsters on anyone.

I am much more responsible than my doctor who refuses to look anymore and just wants me gone out of his surgery. These sort of doctors SPREAD scabies and mites by not treating. Had Christmas and New Years alone. Maybe you should contact me through the topix messages and we can email for support.

I believe I had tropical rat mites. My wife had to shave her hair off in order to get to the mites under the scalp. Once she did that we won the battle. Before she cut off all of her hair we were in a stalemate we could not get rid of it.

I sprayed Transport Saturday for cracks and crevices and today sprayed Onslaught and Martins IGR on carpets and such. Praying this will do a good knockdown. So over all this!

Hi Aurore! Thank you for asking... Was pretty freaked out this weekend after looking at her boogies... Looked very similar to the pictures I found of fungus gnat larvae... But looked more into it and realized it was club shaped fungal spores... Looks identical to alternaria. Getting her into a pediatric allergist this afternoon and an ENT very soon. Still very worried about her, but hoping this allergist will run some tests and figure it out. Also, got my mysterious mite sample into the County Ag extension... Waiting to see if they can ID it. Still pretty freaked about that.
How are you doing?

Hi Lost, I know how you feel. I closed myself off from family for a long time. I was soo depressed. I ended up coming just putting on twice as many clothes on when I see my family. I really cautious when I'm around anyone. Touch wood know one has caught whatever I have. What we are going through is truly a lonely sad situation. I'm really happy that I have the support of so many here, including MIA, I prob would be wreck with out her! If you would another fellow sufferer to talk to please email me.

Gosh Shelly, you've been busy. Relieved to hear (well as relieved as you can be) that its not gnat eggs but something else a bit less irritating for your little girl... still its a worry anyway. All kids are a worry. No matter the age ;)
Things going ok here, still treating, getting better since I got onto 96% alcohol, really dries those suckers areas up. It actually smells kinda nice too, very crisp and clean smell. Also treating face and skin with another product high in alcohol, Bonne Belle 10-0-6, works surprisingly well on legs too. Amazing what we will try. And another two tubes perm tonight at chemist, takes the total up somewhere over ... well I hate to think. Luckily I'm one of those with absolutely no reaction to it skin-wise or otherwise.
I agree completely... I doubt I will ever stop worrying about my baby girl... She's got other health concerns since this nightmare began that we are still trying to get figured out, as well...:( Hoping to find answers soon... Thank you for your kind words... Please keep us updated on your progress, lady! I think every bit of info we can provide might possibly help the next person... So word has to be gotten out somehow...

Thank you Shelly for the info on the chemicals. Will order the Nyguard and Onslaught. Don't want to take a chance with the Transport with my dog. She is already acting strange and shakes her head a lot. I have been spraying her with cedarcide to try to keep the bugs off her. Not sure if it is working.
Plant fungus. Funny you should say that. We have these white flakey things appearing everywhere. Counters and floating in the air. I had a mold specialist look at them and he said it was a plant like cell. I always thought it was a fungus, so it must be a plant fungus. Spread by the Collembola? Probably.
My scalp is getting worse it seems. The sulphur cream you used - you left it on overnight in your hair? So your hair was kinda wet then? In Megan's stopskinmites blog she said the fungus thrives on moisture and to keep your hair dry. So I was afraid to use the sulphur cream overnight. Did you have any problems going to bed with wet hair? Did it make the fungus worse?
Hope your daughter gets better really quick. It's bad enough that we have to suffer thru this but I hate to see the children suffer too. Can only imagine what you are going thru worrying about your daughter too. Will say a prayer for her.
I actually did leave it in wet hair overnight and most of the next day for about 5 or 6 days maybe? I was feeling the crawlers in my hair at that time and the hard pin pricks.... And it got rid of those... BUT had I known at that time about the collembola and fungus, I would have definitely dried my hair first. I really didn't have scalp trouble until I put numbers six and seven of the perm cream on my head... Then it was a horrible achy pain all over my scalp... That has slowly fizzled with different antifungals to the slightly stingy, ever so slightly crawly state I'm in now. Hoping the terbinafine works a miracle for me.:)

Shelly I just read about your baby girl. I hope she's ok! My heart goes out to you. It's been going on for a long time. God willing its not what you think. Keeps up posted on how she's doing. It's one thing when it's us, but our kids takes us to the next level. Makes you want to set a match to everything.

Thank you everyone for your support. Yes I will email you thru the message board. I checked for bugs in the window sill but didn't see any under the scope. I am so confused. I have black fiber type specks on my clothes and bed sheets all the time. Does anyone of you have this? And when I scope what I pull out of my hair it looks like larvae in fiber. I read mites like fibers soaybe they are inside of this? Or do you guys see a actual bug all the time?

I pray I don't have morgellins.

What is the perm cream everyone is using ? Is it a script?

Shelly what is terbinafine ?

My husband isn't have any problems and doesn't understand. We are fighting all the time. This is so terrible.

Im sorry, Lost... I fell asleep inthe middle of replying to your other post... Yes, I feel exactly the same way. We've been isolated for six months now. At this point, I'm more comfortable not being around people since its been so long. I'm very sorry about your dad. My best friend found out she had breast cancer right after this nightmare began and it killed me that I couldn't be there for her and help her after the surgery. This really has been horrendous on many fronts for us. I won't go into great detail on it, but just know you are not alone. Just don't give up the fight, lady. Here to help if I can...

Hi Lost! I have found a lot of the same coccoon looking stuff, if that's what you're describing. The ones that are shaped kind of like a dark football with a little string hanging off at end end (if that's what you're seeing), I really don't know. I wish I did know... I really think there is a logical explanation for these things... And not a lot is really known about Morgellons, so try not to get stuck on that, if you can. I did for a while and it was very scary... I also think a lot of stuff we find in our environments (while going through this) has always been there, but since we are looking so closely now (trying to find answers) we think it's new... And related to the current problem. I think once you spray with the Onslaught and Nyguard, there will be some dead critters around to ID.

My husband and I fight all the time, too... I'm sorry you're going through that, too... Just try to hang in there, lady...

PS--Terbinafine is a pretty strong antifungal... I think Lamisil is the brand name... Terbinafine is the generic name...

Hey Shelly, I hope all is going well and your winning the war on these bastards! Hows your baby doing? I saw this and I thought of you actually I think anyone who's suffered scabies and have done all the meds should prob fill out a complaint with the FDA...

I believe I had Tropic Rat Mites.
I have photos if you want to see them
One has a white speck of Diatom on it. That's how it got killed.

Wow those mites look the same color as what I see. But when I look under auctions cope at 100x all I see is a yellow debris. What magnification did you use?

I am so upset. Our furnace broke down again. Third time in two weeks. It was loaded with DE. Now I can't use the DE anymore. My husband spent the money and got a new furnace installed yesterday with a uv light to kill anything under .3 microns. He won't let me spray the transport or IGR with the new furnace. Thinks the uv light will kill the bugs. I'm so upset. I know it won't work. What am I going to do.?

Three possible solutions:

1. Spray the stuff and don't tell him.
2. Get a divorce.
3. How big is the furnace?
