Dear Mr. Al

or anyone with some info on BP and RP,

AS you know, I treated myself for scabies for a few months only to learn I have bird mites. A woman on the birdmite site used benzoyl peroxide on her skin and Roach Prufe in the environment to finally get free after 3 years. The Roach Prufe is like a sublimed boric acid - very fine. She puffed it into her environment with a rose duster and left it down for 4 months and lived in it. No more bugs.

The Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%) on the skin head to toe cleared her skin. It will oxidize the skin so can be a tumor promoter. It is a common over the counter acne med.

Have you heard of anyone else using these without harmful side effects? Especially the Roach Prufe in the environment?

Thanks,
Rose

Hi rose.. Hmm.. Where do I start. Ok Bird mites as far as I gather is very close to scabies except you will really have to work on the environment. Now if I remember correctly boric acid or this roach Prufe is very close to BORAX detergent. I would just use borax for my environment. Bezonyl peroxide as mentioned is common Acne med but I would question this as to how will this kill mites, scabies? Rose I would really focus on your environment and stick with sulfer. In your case I think it will take you bit longer with sulfer as I am sure of it. Either way it's all about attrition and just waiting these buggers out. Now I hear there are some folks using BORAX, Hydrogen Peroxide mix to put on there skin to get rid of Bird mites. There was a person on here name M&M and she dealt with bird mites as she found out and she did this mix and it help her alot.. Personally if it were me I would stick with sulfer because it's safe and you have to treat all day and everyday till it's gone. Just my thoughts on that.. Patience it the key to your recovery.

Thanks Mr. Al.

Appreciate you sharing. Yea, the borax with hydrogen peroxide and water works miraculously but my kidneys and skin can't handle it.

I think the Roach Prufe is much better than the borax because it is so fine and it has an electrical charge to it that makes it hard for the mites to dodge. I'm just concerned about breathing it.

There is a liquid called Mop Up with heat treated borax that I might try since I have all hardwood floors. It's not as potent as the dry powder but seems like it would help without the mess and danger of breathing the dust.

Thanks again for hanging in there with us.

All the best to you Mr. Al,

Hello Rose,

I have the same questions you have about the BP and the RP. I have been reading Rita's Posts on Yahoo for a while as I navigate thru this mite issue. I wonder if she is still free of the mites. I wish people who have found a cure would up date us more often. Ofcourse I've tried everything the dermotologist has to offer... with no cure. What has worked the best is the Borax and HP mixed with water but doesn't kill them all. I just started using the BP on my body and hope it works as Rita says in 3 days... but I am hesitant to use the RP in my home as I have a 3 year old. If it was just me... I would have put out the RP already but I don't know if it's safe enough for my child. My question is are you free of mites? What did you use to elimate them? I haven't tried Sulfer did that work? I heard of someone mixing it with petroleum jelly and pasting it over the entire body for 8 hours and having it work with one application. But there was no mention on how much to sulfer to mix with the petroleum jelly or what strength. Where do you buy sulfer and how did you apply it? I would also like to know how it works ( if anyone knows). Looking forward to hearing back!!!

I really hope this helps people who suffer for years. It seems to be working for me. I took 10% benzoyl peroxide (3 dollars) and put it on the bites and little dots then took first aid flesh colored airproof tape (4 dollars) and put it over the bp. I left it for 24 hours. There were about thirty different places I put it. Nothing else had worked. It seems to have killed most of them. I will continue. Keep in mind this is a mild irritant and causes secondary itching. Really hot water makes the itching go away after i take it off. I really hope you have luck with this. Ill update if I am cured. I have only had one bite in two days. This is the most successful thing so far. :)

I forgot to say I use lice shampoo (7 dollars pbo and pyrethrum) for ten minutes before I shower. It helps to get the surface ones down. I really want this to help people. Ill update

Still doing extremely well. One real bite. Totally expected. A few little marks and itches but I'm using the bp with tape over it to make sure nothing comes of it.

[birdmitesorg] Re: I'm clear..? Well.. for a few
days

Hi Sarah.........I have tried many products on
my skin over that last...well going on 4 years
now. The very best product that we have used
is the Benzoyl Peroxide. This gel has worked so
very fast, cleared our skin within days and has
left me dumb founded. I have wished for so
long now that I had known about this gel when I
first came in contact with this skin mess.. I'm
afraid to report that the Boric Acid and the BP
doesn't seem to work as fast for people who
are seeing those little "flying" things around
them and in their home. I have never seen
anything flying so as with everything, give it a
try for a few months and if you notice that the
things are getting fewer and fewer in numbers
than you might be on the right track. Trial and
error seems to be the norm with this and I hope
and pray that you will see eradication like we
have. The BP will make your skin worse off in
the first few weeks. It's hard to get
through those weeks because of the flaking. We
had to use Vaseline to go out in public but just
like the site says in the videos our skin stopped
flaking after a couple of weeks and looks totally
clear and smooth. Every where I had the
"things" on my skin the flaking was extremely
bad. Seemed the kill was instant with the BP. I
hope you see success with these new
treatments. Keep in touch and I will do the
same. Wishing to loads and loads of luck. Rita

Bythe way read the arm and hammer thread it will help you , start at the beginning of it and read the 1st 2 bposts thet should hlep and sleep on an air mattres you can deflate ,roll stuff in a 5 gallon bucket in arm and hammer soap fr 1 hr , rinse in shower, drip, lay out on a hard floor misted in 2 tbls ccocnut oil and 32 oz of warm water so the bugs cant crawl over the sticky oil then i use a hair dryer on cool shot shovved up to the filler end of the air matress , it inflates in 90 seconds then i mi9st the air matress with the same oil mix and bugs cnt get you thet nite ,
Also sosaking in the 2 tbls cococnut oil in a bath of water cause the oil to deeply penetrate into the skin killing bugs and making a shield on the skin to resist new nites

Pray hard God is good and He loves us

Bye ,

I'm updating. So far its working really well. I still have little red dots but no actual bites. I continue to use the bp and waterproof first aid tape to cover it. I leave it on for about 24 hours. I also still use lice shampoo everyday before the shower for 10 minutes. This is the best progress ever. I will update you. BTW I havent had to change my sheets like a crazy person. I don't worry like i used to about infecting people. Let me know how it works for you. Also my mood is great and back to normal because I don't have poisons on me. Thank goodness. I do have the chemical burns that are mild and itchy but that is to be expected from a 10% bp cream left on for so long. The itch goes away after a hot shower.

Still working but I'm still getting some new bites here and there. Decreasing in numbers of course. It seems I have a type that is resistant to every type of poison. I thought bp would ruin all my clothing but I tend to wear white more often now so I have been ok so far. Just so you all know, I have never seen anything black or otherwise. I'm still doing it and still feel progress but it isn't a quick fix. It has however saved my health. I was so depressed putting poison on me. I'll keep you posted. If anyone is doing this please let me know. I feel like more heads would be better than one.

I'm updating for all of you struggling. The process was going a bit slowly and I am and was getting little red pin pricks all over, pretty sure this is activity of some totally strange sort. Bites are less and less frequent. I decided to just go ahead and put the generic clearisil 10% bp all over after my showers. Yes it is using a lot and it does bleach clothing but the activity has gone waaaaaaaay down. Two days of this so far. Keep in mind I am still using the lice shampoo for ten minutes before my showers. You may wonder if it burns my skin, not really burn. I added a touch of lotion but just dollop and a little water for spreading. I put it on pretty generously. Not really burn but yes it does make my skin a little itchy but not in the bug way just in like a dry skin kind of way. This is expensive but honestly the cheapest thing I have tried. No crazy poisons and my skin isn't ruined like it was with all the other things. I'm going to keep doing it and tell you the results. Also no smell and no nothing very bad. I still put some with tape over new bites to make sure its working for hours. Oh also if I feel that horrible activity itch that we all know so well, I put some bp on and rub it all around the area. Goes away like magic and no bites follow. I didn't even get a single bit all day. This is the best day yet. Ill let you know what happens.

Things are better everyday. If anyone has a question just post and ill keep checking. They aren't gone but they are really trying to die. My skin is so much better. The shampoo is very important to use everyday along with the tape and putting bp on all the time.
