About doctor visits. Both times I got a real diagnosis, I just went in and said, what do I have? Before that I went in telling them I had scabies, and all they said is you don't have scabies. When I went to another doctor and just sat there, telling my symptoms, not my own diagnosis, he came to his own conclusion of crusted scabies.

After all the scabies meds, when I started itching again, I went in and said what do I have? Then it was a fungus. Doctors are more inclined to help if you just tell them your symptoms. In my experience.

One more thought that's been bugging me. There were at least 3 people on here and on the safe2use board that said someone had scabies and died. Critterlady said her mom had scabies and died. She didn't know what scabies was, but when she went to clean out her mom's overstuffed house, she brought things back to her apartment and said she got scabies and some type of environmental mite. She cleaned for 2 years and took ivermectin and got rid of it. It could have been a fungus in her mom's house.

Someone else said her boyfriend had scabies and died. She went back to his house after 7 days and said she got scabies from his bed.

Scabies doesn't kill you but I think an untreated fungus, or environmental fungus, or overuse of scabies meds can. Just my opinion, be careful. It's a wonder I'm alive and kicking, free of mites and fungi.

I'm not diagnosing anyone in particular. I'm just saying I had both and it felt the same to me. All I can do is report my own experience, and if it helps just one person, it's worth getting yelled at a little. If my car was still giving me problems I'd drive it off a cliff (jump out first) and take the bus. Life is too short to be miserable.
how on earth can a fungal infection feel the same as scabies? crawling? itching from mite poop under the skin? itchy red bumps making tracks like road map?

anyway, I am saying I may have a systemic bacterial infection caused by having mites chewing my skin open.

I've been researching and found a product that consumer reports states is tops for head lice. I know we've talked about body lice but frankly, I've had both. Married, faithful, and not had a haircut in 6 months. Only thing I did was help a friend fix up a house that was left alone for months, and sleep in a bed there that hadn't been slept in in 3 weeks. They say a mite won't surive for more than 2 days without human contact, and my friend has no lice. She claims I got it elsewhere. Noone in my family has it, my pets don't, and I lost my job in January so I haven't been traveling for work. How did I get the suckers??????:)

My research shows that a product called "licenex" works on hair without combs. Anyone tried it?

I've had 4 perscriptions of premetherin 5% for body and finally think I might be over it. Hair, 6th dose of RID tonight. Thinking of licenex, friend from middle east suggested kerosene!

HELP ME!

Okay-One More thing....if they are supposed to be transmitted by brush, scarf, clothing, or bedding. AND, survive only 48 hours without human contact how could someone catch it from someone who died?

My husband is sleeping with our 17 year old daughter. No One is happy, intimacy was over 2 months ago because of this. I am in quarantine. True, I had body and scalp. I think body is gone but my own family doesn't want to take a chance on sleeping with me for the very reason this is such a bitch to get rid of!

Again, HELP!!! Anyone had success with Licenex?

Thanks, but from what I've read mites don't survive off human hosts after 48 hours. So, how do we explain lice afecting humans after that time period? I don't know, but I do know I slept in a room that had not been slept in in 2 months and I came up with lice....??????

yes crawling, itching, red bumps, road maps, blisters, small bruises, tiny pin points, stinging biting feeling. Google fungal skin infections for many different types of images.

Hi Sam
If your the same sam from 6 mths ago i was never diagnozed with scabies but treated for at least 6 months then finally got to a derm that said i didnt have or ever have it which is bull but now he has found i have a staph infection and folliculitis and all the lesions are starting to clear up but i still think the dead ones are creating havoc skin is still lumpy and prickly not smooth and i have a lot of freckly type patches still but i think they are going slowly away. My last treatment was May 8 does this sound the same as your post scabies problems. I am sure the scabies is gone as i sleep well without scratching but sometimes still get those other symtoms. Post symtoms are nearly as bad. did your doctor say how long you may suffer with post

Hi Yes i think these mites can cause all sorts of post problems. Good luck i give myself lots of scrubs the derm would freak if i told him that, but it feels so much better after it.

Thank you Mr. Al, Sam and Itty Bitty Critters for replying. I have been using head & shoulder with selenium sulfide (blue bottle)for months. It hasn't worked for me. Maybe it is my environment. I'm going to stick with the sulfur and try the Nizoral shampoo. It's just above my neck now. The scalp and ears are more severe than my face. Neckline is getting bad again too. No pinpricks nor crawling anywhere else. I'll keep working and try the new shampoo. Thanx again, everyone.

Sam: surely you are single, to be saying to drive your car off a cliff. i have a huge house, with a pool, a big yard, a dog, a son, I need my car for everything, as listed. i am thinking of buying another car, and just rotate them. 30 days on and 30 days off. This is my new plan. i am running a dehumidifier all the time, and it seems to be helping, a little. I am going to burn some menthol crystals in my car, with one of these candle warmers. i did it the other day, and man or man, I thought i went to menthol heaven. of course my son complained, blah, blah, this and that. so tonight, i'm burning my menthol crystals in the car. been spraying the lemon scented raid in there a lot. and i need to go buy more co2. TAKE a bus!! ha ha ha. I have a motorcycle, Sam. ha ha ha.... how are you? are you ithing or what? what's going on with you? I will say hello to Janet for you. She loves you, Sam.
