Eurax got rid of Scabies, then got Scabies from car!

I forgot to vacuum. Last time I got rid of them, I vacuumed the car and then sprayed peppermint oil and water on the seats, dashboard, etc. and it worked. I didn't put plastic or anything over the seats. This time, I forgot to vacuum. What a dunce I am. 4th time having Scabies. This is my 2nd treatment during the 4th time. Anyone experience this before. I want to cry.

What did you use, Eurax lotion or cream? I bought some Eurax cream today which was reduced at Tesco, and applied it to my hands but my god it stank so badly I had to wash it off to make dinner in case it ruined the veg. If it kills scabbos then I would be willing to try again though. Is there a scabicide in Eurax? I thought it was just itch relief.

I am now in my 2nd infestation, 5th month and 3 treatments in, no relief yet. I have cried many times, I'm right with you.

Zelda, Eurax does kill scabies mites. Not as toxic as other scabies meds..

Wow...I got a tube off the shelf for £4. Hard to believe! Well, I might use it now or wait to get some sulphur. It seems impossible to get iver here in the UK and I am worried about reliability of websites.

I am going mad with this, I am losing my grip. My kids don't get hugs, hubby doesn't believe I even have scabies, I feel so utterly alone. I need to get rid o this and get my life back.

Zelda you are not missing much with Ivers. I would keep using it.. 5 days straight..

Thanks for the advice Mr Al. I have a 100g tube, but it came with no pamphlet or advice. Would you happen to know how many applications a 100g tube would be?

I would say 2 with some left over.. Buy enough to do at a weeks worth.. Only down side you cannot take showers for those days straight.. What I would do is do 2 days on.. Then shower another 2 days shower and another 2 days..

Ok well luckily I finish work next Friday for 6 weeks so I will be at liberty to go all out then. I will try to get some sulphur ointment too i think...

Hi Mr AL. I have enough Eurax to treat an army now. On Saturday morning I washed with high concentrated neem soap, then covered everywhere with Eurax cream and stank to high heavens. I left this on til Sunday evening, the repeated the process. Today I will repeat. I have a couple of questions I wonder if you could help with.

How long did it take before you felt improvement? Yesterday was a particularly awful day, and, crazy as it sounds, I am starting to feel I can't cope with this anymore.

Did you experience any irritation from the Eurax itself? My whole neck came up on hives after the second application.

Did you get post scabies?

Thanks John, I really think that is my next and final option, I have tried everything else, bar the sulphur which is also proving hard to obtain. Have you used this iver personally? Did you buy from unitedpharm?

Zelda... Truly the Horse Ivermectin is the exact same thing as the people. You can get it at the feedstore (in America, you can even get the horse Ivermectin at Walmart in the pet supply area). But I liked the "ivercare" brand the best from the feed store.
It's dosed exactly the same as humans-- by body weight. In other words, the horse paste in tube (designed to "shoot" into horse's mouth--not an injection but kindof like caulk would come out of a tube), this one tube is good for one 1250 lb. horse--but has 250 lb increments for dosing. So shoot out (I put on a piece of foil) a 250 lb dose--and take half of that if you're a 125 lb woman (or whatever). A little extra doesn't hurt.(but I did notice the FIRST 250 lb increment out of tube was more than then the following 250 lb increments--like their dosing isn't that exact... But again it won't hurt you even if you took twice the dose.)
Warning: the first time I took it, the scabies "freaked out"--like they ran out of their boroughs and all over my skin surface! I'd heard this warning from one other poster. But that only happened the first time when the population was really high. But because of this I'd surface treat AT THE SAME TIME (with Eurax or better Permethrin if you can get it). Put surface med on first-THEN take Ivermectin--but ON AN EMPTY STOMACH with one 8 oz glass of water. Do this before bed so that empty stomach continues throughout night. Some posters said certain foods will cut it's action? Can't remember--but grapefruit juice PROLONGS it's action. Iver will definitely kill the deeply burrowed females--but will NOT kill eggs or nymphs, so it does need to be combined with surface. It doesn't taste good but it's a fairly small amount (less than thimble full) and you wash it with the water and no big deal. Lord, please heal Zelda!
