Don't forget that they can also live in your shoes, I did the permethrin treatment only to have spots stay on my feet and disappear elsewhere.

For your shoes, I would suggest buying crocs, as you can wash them every day in hot water. Or buy a few pairs of inexpensive shoes that you can rotate. Do not wear the same pair of shoes every day. Rotate everything you wear, including bedding, shirts, pants, jackets. Buy some cheap stuff and ROTATE, never wearing the same thing, but once every 7 days. Wash in hot water. Use Arm and Hammer Powdered Laundry Detergent. This works great for washing mite infested laundry.

Just wash everyrhing repeatedly. Hot wash hot dry. I put my blankets in 3 rounds in the dryer. We just took injectable ivermectin orally. This will be the second time we do this. In October we had scabies from a homeless kid we let stay the night. 2 doses of ivermectin and good washing of everything and we were cured. Just a few days ago I went thrift shopping and git them sgain from trying on clothes. I highly recommend the injectable ivermectin orally and just keep up on the washing.

How is it that you can give any advice when you just posted a few days ago that your infestation is "out of control"?

Like I said, cindilu is dumber than a box of hammers.

Beware of the SULFUR SOAP sales people. They attack all products that they don't sell!

They don't care about you at all if fact they go way out of the way to try and harm anyone who stands up to them.

Read below the posting that has been posted on many other threads trying to embarrass me.

These are money hungry hateful people
Read below and see for yourselves.

posted by UNCLE SAM:

"For the information of people on this forum, Langoliers is also a consistent poster on the Scabies Forum. He and his wife have been infected for well over a year. He consistently posts some very dangerous and toxic "cures" there that are very dangerous to a persons health. He does this acting like some kind of authority when he is not even cured himself.
He also created a whole thread under an alternate identity just for his own pathetic amusement. he really needs to be in a psychiatric ward.

I invite anyone to go on the Scabies forum and read the drivel he posts as a remedy and then go and find real answers as to how detrimental it is. He even highly recommends Lindane which has resulted in seizures and deaths."
----------

First off let me explain I do not or have ever had scabies. I had Tropic Rat Mite or a similar type of mite. I have posted links to photos of the exact mites I had.
Mites taken off of me or my wife.
Me and my wife are cured! She however is cautious about removing the coating of DE that has been dusted on everything. There is no doubt that DE was the main reason we beat them because these mites tend to spend weeks at a time off of the host. We could not beat them because they would re-infest us after weeks of being bit free.

This is how I beat them.

I beat them with a Doctor who gave me

1) Stromectol 5 5mg tablets once every seven days.

2) Lindane lotion 4 or 5 treatments

3) Diatom Earth lightly dusted on everything. And in bed with ya.

Note: I used a Doctor after falling for all the things I read on these threads and tried.

I caught scabies over ten years ago and was given a rx type of oil and was cured instantly...lindane?? Recently caught it again and the only thing the Dr prescribed me was over the counter permethrin and after several applications (and $$$) realized that it wasn't working (I was also madly sanitizing everything in the house daily!!!) I then took to forums and was willing to try anything!!!
What worked for me:
tea tree oil - applied after cooling down after shower to full body
showering twice a day using tea tree shampoo all over and sometimes spraying as hot as you can stand all over then as cold as you can stand...not fun!!
baths with lavender epsom salts
lavender oil - full body
peppermint oil - full body - makes you cold though
bagging all rugs, clothes, shoes, anything fabric
eating tons of garlic
even tried sunburning my skin to burn those f***ers - don't recommend because sunburn left my skin itchy when it was healing and I wasn't sure if it was the scabies or the healing from the burn
DON'T GIVE UP - I felt extremely depressed and hopeless at times but kept fighting and about 2 months later I feel confident that I'm scabies free at last!!!
So frustrated that it took this much effort/money/time/sanity to get through this when I know that there was an easy cure out there from previous experience:(
I hope this helps!

Yep, unfortunately, I also agree that the tea tree oil doesn't seem to be curing it. It definitely helps the symptoms some I think.
I've also been swimming laps at night hoping all the chemicals would help.
Just heard cover yourself in petroleum jelly for three nights in a row. They can't breath supposedly.
So this is my next feeble attempt and I'm set to see a dermatologist.
My doctor said to leave the permetherin on for 8-12 hours so I left it on little over 12. Now I'm reading that it can be left on 24 hours??
So I'll ask the Derm. if I can try that.
There sounds like there's some risk with the Lindan but I definitely understand the desperation.
I think a family member may have gotten it despite all precautions. The dogs make it more difficult also. I'm concerned about work members.
If anyone figures it out pass it on right?
ok everyone I've heard all the horror stories so here is mine my mom and I took my niece in after she was kicked out of her home and she is trying to start her life over but had been hanging out in some low life friends trailer when I first saw her itching being a nurse I automatically thought that was what she had but she insisted it was her nerves after about a week we took her to a dermatologist for a scraping and she had an infestation and before long we all did after 2 and 3 treatments of the primethrecin creams they just came back with a vengeance here is what I have found those little devils have built up a resistance to that stuff the only thing found they have never built up resistance to is the enzyme/natural oils so we have been using the entire treatments and found it helpful from Accessneutriceuticals ( google and YouTube it) they explain it better than I can It has been working try it warning its not cheap to get rid of these things

I have been fighting this too. I have decided it is not scabies. Nothing works. I wash my hair with Hartz flea shampoo, and my body. I have used the lice shampoos, the 5% cream, Stromectol pill,( Stromectol worked pretty good, but not enough, think I needed a larger dose). I had scabies years ago, and they are easy to get rid of. These aren't and they leave deep holes in my skin. I am thinking it is some sort of desert mite, or flea. My thought is it might be the same thing my dog gets in the bottoms of his paws. Also, I can see little black spots, and sometimes shiney spots. Maybe this is an Arizona thing.
I have now tried Frontline Plus for dogs, just the smallest dose. I put in on the sores on my arms last night. Will have to wait and see what happens.

The Benzyl Alcohol 5% is used to kill head lice and from what I just read, is also used on scabies. But, I don't think a pharmacist mixes it, as it is sold under a brand name and requires a prescription. It works by stunning the mite, and it can't close its pores, and this med gets inside and kills the mite. It works the same way with head lice. I think they created this head lice med in 2009, probably because the permethrin was not working for head lice, as the lice have become immune to it. They also created an ivermectin lotion to treat head lice, too, not too many years ago, maybe about 3 years ago. Yes, these parasites are becoming immune to the permethrin.

Hello,

So I have been suffering this awful mite for at least a year now. At first I didn't think I had it (for months) I googled symptoms like eczema and stuff. But then I spread it to my later boyfriend and he went to the doctors they had said he had it but all they did was give him the cream and told him to use it twice. They gave him no other instructions.(I believe I got it from an ex who used to have itchy bumps on his stomach but still claims to this day that he doesn't have it and hasn't itched in years) or it could be this duplex I moved into a year and a half ago. The weird thing is though my roommates claim to not have gotten it and it seems like the only people who do are the people who have slept in my bed numerous times or had skin contact with me. I covered my bed and pillows with plastic months ago and make my own topical ointments to put on my skin (that I put on everywhere but my scalp). I don't have insurance so I just google things that may get rid of it and then buy them at outpost etc. I've tried tea tree, clove oil and buds, I even took a bath in Cayenne pepper (LET ME TELL YOU IT FELT LIKE I DID JUMP IN A VOLCANO) I also mixed together sesame seed oil, neem, grape seed oil, apple cider vinegar, sea salt baths, turmeric spice, zinc, I could go on and on. I even tried the cream my boyfriend got from the doctors and I used it more than directed (my bad) and it didn't work either. I bought lice and bed bug spray and sprayed my bed and carpet numerous times (i guess I'm dying young) and I wash all my stuff non stop.In hot water/dryer heat. Sometimes I think it has gone and then bam it comes back again. Me and that boyfriend have been broken up now and I started seeing someone else when I had thought it was gone and then he started itching really bad and now I'm getting it again.IT IS NEVER ENDING! I am a hairstylist and a server so I am always touching people and I cant just stop living life and now I'm moving back to my parents and they just re-carpeted my bedroom. I'm worried about spreading it to that house too and them and ruining my new carpet. What do I do now..after reading a lot of these posts I'm even more terrified and threw away my phone case because its something I touch all the time. Can I use bleach on a rad and just wipe down all my frequently used stuff and the bathroom and kitchen and just keep washing my stuff in hot heat and using my own mixture ointment? I am desperate but am running extremely low on money. I cant just not wear clothes and disappear for a month. OMG....
