Read the cured threads they have a lot of info there. They helped me! I cured myself naturally but others have been cured from permethrin, ivermectin, sulfur lotion, tea tree oil, neem, borax and peroxide mix..........the list may go on.

Joy, there can't be any material exposed in the house, it either has to be bagged or removed from the house. The beds have to be in zippered vinyl as well as the boxsprings and the carpets need to be treated with a&h unscented powdered soap mixed with water. I have more hints if you are interested. Spray yourself with peppermint oil from www.safetouse.com or something else listed in the last post. You can wear Mack's Pillow Soft
Earplugs to keep them out of your ears. Put some aloe vera in your ears before you put the ear plugs in.

i want to ask where did you go stay for a week after your treatment?? Won't you infect others if you leave your home to stay with others?? Just wondering...and will everyone in the household get the scabies??
I must say i feel grossed out from them, and its kinda depressing. I feel so isolated, and alone, like no one know what we're going through, but from all the comments on the net i see that other's know too. Also if anyone has gotten rid of the scabies, what were your symptoms after treatment?? How did they look?? did they look worse?? and how long did it take to go away??

You should be able to find permetherin at any garden store. Just ask for mite spray then read the lable for content drugs.

Everyone's looks different after they are gone. I have had no rash so I had nothing when they were gone either. You should stay out of the house for a month, not a week, and yes, you could give it to someone else that way. Doesn't mean you will though. Not everyone in the house gets Scabies. My son got them but not my other two kids. They take anywhere from days to your entire life to get rid of them.

Hi all with this plight. MITES

Two North American species of itch mites — the straw itch mite1 and the “oak leaf gall mite”(Family Pyemotidae) go to this website to read about them.

http://www.ianrpubs.unl.edu/epublic/pages/pub...

I have oak leaf gall mites and three others I picked up in Cuba on a mission trip. I have the same problem with the medical field as most of you have, the doctors are not educated on mites and they don’t want to take the time to figure out what it takes to kill them. You need to go to a Dermatologist and when you fill out your form list what you have.(It will start a good conversation)

The medicine that Dr Robert Kaplan (Memphis,TN)gave me is working. Flutiscasone-propionnate with 3% lidocaine mixed with velvachol 720 (camphor and menthol)(Quantity and %???) in a body cream. I have been on this cream for two weeks and my body is clearing up but the head is not. The head medication does not have the Flutiscasone-propionnate in it. I will change that this week.

Hope this helps.

Hi, everyone. Im losing my mind. I have yet to actually be diagnosed with scabies, however I am sure I have it. I've seen one doc at an urent care clinic and one dermatologist. Neither of them actually did any skin scrapings. However, the first one did prescribe me some permitherin. This was about 2 1/2 months ago. I've used it several times on myself and my daughters one of which is only 11 months old and the other is 6 years old. I think both of them got it as well. I wash the bedding everyday in hot water and borax, Im using tea tree oil on my skin and I vacuum. I think I need to really clean like a pycho to get rid of these horrible things. I will try to fumigator in my car and bedroom. I also need to figure out how to clean the furniture in the house. Not to mention I live with my grandmother who is 85 years old, and she needs to be treated as well. Any suggestions are welcome. Please help!!! P.S. Im making another appoitment with another doc. to get a confirmation and some more perm.

Why waste your money on doctors. You'll need it for cleaning supplies. Most people with Scabies don't go to doctors after a couple tries.

I have had this for some time too, but only last few months i have been taking Ivermectin and have found huge improvement i believe this is working well have had many doses but i believe that its the best. take ivermectin along with permithrim topical both on a weekly basis but it will make you itch on or about 3 day and maybe you may need to do this many times. If one survives you will get it back. I am over the worst now skin is starting to improve less and less itch all the time. all the best

I don’t know it this product will work on Scabies or not. I have the oak gall mites and three others from Cuba.

Mission teams take a product called Ivermectin with them to many parts of the world to treat mites. I took it and the next morning I had dead mites on various parts of my body. I still have to take the second dose.

You can buy Ivermectin at any farm supply store, Tractor Supply Center or similar. The trade name is Ivomec. It is for animals and specifically says not form human consumption, but take it anyway. Ivomec MERIAL ONLY. 50 ml should cost around $36.00. You will need the injection needles as well to get the liquid out of the bottle; they should have them as well.

You need 1cc per 75#’s of body weight.(ON AN EMTY STOMACH) Mix with 4 to 5 ounces of water and drink it and repeat in 7 days. You can eat in 3 to 4 hrs.

I have tried the creams, washed my clothes, cleaned my sheets, and it always seems like they have gone away except for the fact that I still have multiple red sores on the top of my thighs. These sores will nto go away no matter how many treatments I go through. The last treatment was three nights of Permethrin 5% Cream. And I still have the sores on my thighs. Any ideas???

Can you shave your head or cut yr hair really short? Cut the whites of your fingernails and toenails completely off but NOT if it hurts. Cut them every day or every other day. Those things live under the fingernails.

****UPDATE****

Hey everyone I posted here as "scratch" sep 11 2006 and it is now nov 3rd 2009 so ya 3 years later....

FIRST OFF for everyone that has this horrible infestation my heart goes out to you and i would happily scratch your back if you scratched mine (OHHH better than sex sometimes) i wish you all the best on your journey to finding the cure for i have not found it

ill try and keep this short and to the point for ya so use my first post's as to some of the treatments i used

well turns out i did something right to piss off the lil bastards about a year ago because they went away, i honestly thought i was cured... I even moved to another state and started life all over again, new clothes, new everything, you name it it was new....

about a year went by

and guess what???.... OUTTA nowhere one day over this past summer i get this VERY FAMILIAR series of bumps on my inner thigh... thought maybe it was just some flea bite or ??? something else... i caved in and scrathed it i couldnt help it, it then over the next few days took over my inner thigh with even more multiple bumps... took about two weeks for it to go away and healed up with just about no scars, but misc bumbs started appearing here and there on my body(nothing major) but here and there... same scabie like bumps, same itch, same puss.. only it doesnt seem to infest all over my body at once like it did 3 years ago... but heres the thing my thigh healed up but few weeks later it came back, healed up again, and then another few weeks later it came back again! its like thier fuckin with me!!! i even put it to the shower test and ohh yeah its them...

i dont have medical insurance anymore so i cant afford meds or a trip to the doctor.
soo frustrating! i cant even begin to describe the world im in so i wont...

All i can do is offer some simple and relieving advise that WORKS

FOR INSTANT RELIEF:
Take a shower A VERY VERY HOT SHOWER, dont just crank it up to the hottest setting and jump in, youll be sorry. You need to let it build up...

FOR EXAMPLE: start a shower with warm water, aim the water from the nozzle on any spot or area on your body that has bumps or itches, then gradually turn the heat up while still focusing on same area, keep turning that heat up!( you will notice extreme pleasure) keep the water going and keep turning up that heat til you cant possibly stand the burn on the area, once area has been almost scalded by hot water haha move on to the next area... trust me you will use up all your hot water... but your skin will thank you.. enjoy it

after you get out of the shower use any of the creams and/or oils to help soothe, seems after your skin has been burned or gone thru that kinda hot water therapy it wont itch for quite awhile...(sometimes days)

well so here i am again almost hopeless as to what is the real cure for scabies...

I can tell ya first hand though that depression and scabies are like peas and carrots, and ive dealt with my share of both.... If anybody needs a friend out there whos dealing with all this madness and needs someone to talk to feel free to email me at phaseit1@ymail.com

best wishes to you all.

scratch n burn -

The hot shower trick is a great method for instant relief, I been doing the same for several months. However, what have you done to kill them in your environment? Arm & Hammer as suggested here has not been working for me. I also tried borax, perm, windex, lysol, rubbing alcohol and other stuff. Sulfur seem to be the best bet. I decided not to take iver but may be forced to eventually

Phoenix talks about Ivermectin or "Stromectol" the prescription name), but doesnt explain it. It is a dewormer for animals(heartgard), BUT also is used for two diseases of humans. The two diseases are:river blindness (onchocerciasis) and a certain type of diarrhea (strongyloidiasis. IT IS NOW used "off label" for scabies, meaning it is still not approved for the use of scabies but doctors prescribe ivermectin for it anyways if the poison creams arent working for the patient or in immune system challenged people(HIV). NOW let me explain how easy it is to get! If your doctor wont prescribe it at first, then what you do is go to your local feed store(horses, cattle, etc) and buy ivermectin paste for horses. It comes in tubes for 1500 lb or 2500 lb. horse. DO NOT BUY ANY OTHER VERSION like injectable or topical. ONLY BUY PASTE. The tube has marks on it for every 250 lbs. of animal and the proper amount of medicine. the amount of ivermectin in it is already the same as stromectol...200 micrograms (mcg) per kilogram (kg)(91 mcg per pound) of body weight. This amount can be used on children above 35 lbs according to the medlineplus website. Google "oral ivermectin" and click on the second item which says "medlineplus drug information". Like i said it talks about stromectol not ivermectin horse paste BUT THE DOSE is the same. I weigh 230 lbs so i took the paste and filled a pill capsule i emptied of its previous contents. Of course i used the amount up to the first mark(250 lbs) on the ivermectin tube because thats close to what i weigh. You need to take less if you weigh less. Take it on an empty stomach with only one glass of water. You dont want to dilute it. I didnt put the capsule back together but swallowed the pieces separate...the only reason i even used the capsule is because it tastes bad. Obviously pregnant or lactating women should not use ivermectin, but I CANNOT FIND ANY NEWS on toxic side effects from ivermectin. ITS A LOT BETTER FOR you than all those poisons you are using on your body! Now my other reccommendation is to use the permethrin cream also. Than 7 days later use both again. and than 7 days later use both again. Dont listen to these doctors that say 1 or 2 coats kills all the scabies! IT JUST ISNT TRUE!! If you want cheap permethrin you can also buy a product at the same feed store call permethrin 10. It is just concentrated permethrin and thats it...no petroleum products. DO NOT BUY "High-Yield" permethrin concentrate though because it DOES have petroleum products. I'm going to continue in another comment the rest of my story.
I think you need to be very careful of Ivermectin. Any dogs that need it for a long time eventually die of liver failure... In a study of elderly people in a group home, those whose scabies were treated without the use of Ivermec stayed basically healthy and thos that were treated with Ivermec had a rediculously high death rate after six months or other 'unrelated' causes. be CAREFUL OF IVERMEC especially if you are older..

I have used acetone on a q tip to go after the imbeded scabies 'hives'( is what I call the colonies that won't go away and keep emitting scabies). PURE ACETONE. I don't know if it will eventually kill me ( the acetone) but it does kill the scabies, little by little..... not to be used on a large area... I have used it after repeated usage of Permithrin and Lindane ( in small careful applications)..

I also find Windex extremely useful when you first get new outbreaks. even, believe it or not, Ketchup is a good diagnostic tool. If you apply a good coating of ketchup all over and leave it on for over 10 minutes, it will irritate the hidden colonies and you can see where they are working away.( It does not kill them).

I forgot to mention that Neem oil, Windex, acetone, Permithrin, Lindane ( in small areas) all have a killing 'effect' on my acabies. I also constantly spray my ( cut very very short now) hair continuously with a rubbing alchohol spray with eucalyptus to kill those 'walkling around'.. It should be noted that scabies have four stages, they molt several times. It it the pregnant females that borrow very deep and are so hard to kill. but the more superficial other stages should be constantly killed as well before they become pregnant flesh eaters from hell.

My son has scabies and he is 5 he got it from school and it is really bad. We went to the er and got some permtherin cream. We have applied it two times with in 3 days. I did some research to find out more and I did find out some facts about the cream. One thing I found out is that the side affects are what we are trying to cure, the itching and burning. The cream causes all that and with a 5 yr old it is very hard to keeps him from itching. He is getting worse and I feel so bad for him. I have washed bedding and clothes over and over and I just want to get rid of it. He is the only one who has gotten it but I want to stop it. If anyone has any ideas I would like to hear them. He itches till he bleeds and it is spreading. I heard about the tea tree oil for itching, does it really help and where can you get it? What about the vasaline?

Hi,
This is so terrible for this to be happening to anyone. Makes me question if there is a higher power and why is he or the source making me and everyone suffer from these horrible bugs eating us up. I am a good person and its painful and depressing.

I have cleared up aloooot but I still get reinfested and they don't completely go away. I use an empty spray bottle and place peroxide in it... I think I spelled that right... but I use that to spray everything and spray on me and let it sit and it stings because its closing the holes up that these bugs make in your skin.

I bathe in epson salt which has sulfur in it. I believe this helps a ton. I soak in it.. I wish I could sleep in it or have the feeling of water at all times cause I rather not have the feeling of bugs crawling in me or even in my private area.. its terrrrrible :(

But I am keeping that positive energy to stay from stressing. I purchased a vaccum cleaner and I've started to vaccum and dump, vaccum and dump... and by the way, the perithin cream did well for me cause I'm actually able to sleep without burning and itching to death. Heat makes them move more and eat more... ugh I'm grossed out... so I can hardly work out to lose weight because of the burning. I hope I've helped and thanks for letting me vent lol. Bless u both.

Hi everyone... people should be ashamed if they found a cure or possibly having success in getting rid of the scabies and not letting the ones suffering know.

I will share with u a few things in my progress and possible success.

Where I got the scabies:
I think I may have gotten scabies from a hotel bed.

The signs:
I began to feel itchy but u can never reach the spot because its under the skin.. u will began to see white or clear bubbles come up on your hand or arms and u can pop them but its nothing but some type of clear fluid... it itches!!! I think they are the babies and they are embedded there and they dig their way out and lay eggs all over again. You will get hot often and sweat will burn sooo bad it can make you cry... I cried and I'm a grown man. You will notice paterns (from my experience) on your back like circles or marks as if u ben cut but healing. You can get warts from the itching and infection or allergic reaction to these.. I think I may have had the crusted scabies too because they leave hard scabs that itch terribly. You can feel these things all over your body... they ate up my penis and genitals and left marks but they marks on my penis are gone but I still feel them in my genitals crawling!!! They craw on your face and in your hair but I don't think they eat at your face or head in my opinion thank goodness. My arms, back, thighs, feet, legs, butt, stomach, underarms, wrist, ankles, chest and my sides... they don't really care, they go anywhere and feed.

At one point I had it so bad that my butt and inner thighs were burning so bad that I couldn't sit down or break out in sweat. I had these terrrrrrrible heat rashes and bumps from these mites in my inner thigh and on my butt. When I scratched, they swell up like rocks and I almost wanted to throw up from looking at them and wanted to cry. Some turned into huge bumps with puss. I took it upon myself to oooz one of them and this green puss came out as thick as tooth paste. The bumps are deminished now but a few have returned but I've kept them down.

I thought these things may have been flea bites but I never was allergic to flea bites and the fleas were actually gone and things still were burning so I went to the emergency room and they just listened to me instead of looking closely and I took pills and hydrocortozone and didn't need to because these were not outer skin irritations. I owe the hospital 180 dollars for not detecting scabies like they should have. I went to a free clinic and I was diagnosed with scabies and the perethin cream really helped me sleep and kill these things. I didn't have an allergic reaction to this stuff... I actually used both tubes which was 80 dollars, 40 a peice without insurance.

I have gone through soo much that its too much to type out. However I am having sucess with Epsom Salt with magnesium sulfate baths, bleach baths and using hydrogen peroxide 3% all seperately. Don't mix these cause I did get a burn from it but it went away. I aslo use skin lightener to get skin back to the normal color. I also use alchohol and sanitizer on my skin for general purposes. I hope I've helped and related to some of you. Let me know if you have anyyyy questions. We are. All in this together. U aren't alone
