you can get scabies from your pet. there are a lot of professionals who read something in a vet book and pass it on as fact, they really haven't done the research though and are wrong.

I have to agree about the mental torture and anxiety brought on by this vile disease, my house is a tip since I cannot stop washing quilts, blankets etc., and there's nowhere to dry them. I applied Benzyl Benzoate, got diagnosed as 'contact dermatitis' by a very young doctor, then the next day finally got some good permethrin cream from a doctor who knew his area (agricultural) as well as steroid cream and paraffin mosturiser. I was still itching like crazy and put two capfuls of bleach into a full bath and scrubbed at the itchy places with green kitchen scourer, for three nights. After showering off, I could SEE loads of black specks in the drained away bath! gross! Returned to the doctor who gave me wet wraps for my arms and a short course of steroids. She went crazy when I told her about the bleach, but it really worked! Left my skin dry though, so have some Oilatum moisturiser for the bath. Anyone who is suffering from this, I feel for you, it is truly horrendous.

OK anyone with scabies is in a bad mood, so I will change my name just for you...xx
Try a full bath with a few capfuls of unperfumed bleach. I promise it works!

Bleach I use it on everything that I can. I was already thinking about using it in the bath tonight. Surely it can't hurt anything. Just dnt know if it'll kill em. That's the resolution I want, how to actually kill them and be done once and for all. I'll use whatever it takes. This sh.. makes me feel nasty. I've read almost every forum but have yet to find one in detail that says they are "cured" God Help Us All!

Bleach dries out and damages your skin making a perfect breeding environment for the mites. You won't be done with it bathing in bleach.

im pretty sure im cured and in post scabies, just gonna add on here rather than start a thread.

i was infested twice and used bb first then lyclear. personally i think lyclear (perm) is an outdated medicine, it didn't work for me. i had severe allergic rashes and several burrows.

without cr*pping on, essentially what cured me are two 12mg doses of stromectol eight days apart, plus three daily bb treatments after the first dose and one bb treatment with the second. i retreated with bb five days later and that's it (i hope). ate grapefruit with the stromectol for good measure, hehe.

i still have spots, they come up in the same places as the original infection but definitely not as burrows. i suggest you get to know your rashes as if they were your best friend. moisturise all the
time! resist the urge to constantly treat if you can.

in regards to cleaning, i vacuumed daily and changed all sheets/towels/clothes after one use. i didn't obsess. treated my cat with advocate too.

this may not help anyone but i hope it does. be positive, it can be so hard to deal with. don't tell people who are not mature enough to be sensitive. wishing everyone the best of luck (including me!)

I found the little blisters between my webs in my fingers and noticed I've been scratching till I would bleed. Come to find out I had scabies. It does induce insomia and anxiety. I thought about suicide. But I went to Earthclinic.com and read all the stories. And what I did was soak in the tub with borax and bleach for abouth 30 min. Submerged all body parts. Then air dry. Take a empty spray bottle and add olive oil, tea tree oil, apple cidar vinegar, orange oil. Shake it up and spray a coat on every night. Its a big difference. This really messes with my mind cuz even the slightest itch makes me think its them. I can't remember how often I itched BEFORE I got them cuz I never payed attention. Also CUT YOUR NAILS cuz when u scratch the eggs get in your nails and when u scratch in another area u just transported them. Don't give up. The trick is to kill them faster than they multiply. If u have a itch in a certain stop slap on some petroleum jelly and that'll sufocate them and stick em in place.

Have you done the prem treatment? Make sure you go to the docs and get an rx. It helps a lot of people...

People reinfect themselves through their environment and think that their treatments are not working. Scabies can survive a wash. When I realized this, I started boiling or ironing my clothes. Put a plastic cover on your mattress, wipe down everything you use: hair brushes, keyboard, car(spray car, bedding, couch) clean daily!!!! Even your shower curtain can harbor them!!

I will look into ALLSTOP as well but let me say as an AHT(Animal Health Tech) you did NOT GET HUMAN SCABIES FROM YOUR DOGS OR CATS!!! The mange scabie will go from animal to human but not for long. They will not breed and will soon die out. The human scabie is related to the Mange scabie but it is different. I know I know you can't imagine where else you got human scabies and it is an easy presumption to look to your pets first but this is simply not the case. Mange scabies die on humans after s short time. Human scabies persist and will require a rational mind. AND PLEASE PLEASE STOP PUTTING ANIMAL PRODUCTS ON YOUR BODY! These products have different standards than human products and can do certain damage to your central nervous systems. You have to be outta your mind to be shampooing with Sargents products or ANY ANIMAL PRODUCTS!
Excellent information coming from another professional! I can't believe some of these people are using and recommending animal products for God's sake! Be aware that some people will call you start calling you crazy for saying mange mites are different and can't reproduce on the human body, but I am a professional exterminator and you are 100% correct! I'm also trying to help these desperate folks, with Facts, but the other battle we are fighting besides the horrible mites themselves are the wackos and outright antagonists that attack every bit of legitimate info. Nevertheless, I'm gonna keep doing it because its noble and I have been cured so i know! If your doctor here will not prescribe it (and enough to do the job) and you need the permethrin and/or ivermectin (for humans) they should just order from someone in Mexico (some friendly Mexicans in your community have relatives there that can send it to them and help you) or for all the money they are wasting on so many things that aren't working (I know by experience) they could buy a round trip to a mexican resort city and get what they need (for HUMANS) at any "farmacia" without a script! People must hang in there. Don't give up. You can conquer this with the RIGHT treatment!

YOU CAN GET CANINE SCABIES AND IT DOESNT DIE IN 3 DAYS. It creates a yoyo effect. Treating yourself, the dogs and the environment is the only way and i have been battling it for almost 4 months! it is worse than people scabies.

You should ask for stromecol pills, I read that if you do the pills about 3 days before the prem and repeat 7 days later your chances of killing the might is much higher. You also have to clean like crazy!! You sure you have scabies and not bird mites? Those are 10x worse. Good luck!!
