Hi... I managed to pick up scabies a few years ago whilst staying in a hotel I think!! i went to the G.P several times and tried several different creams and lotions.. I found an article on using bleach to get rid of Scabies.. I was very wary but also very desperate so gave it a try.. After a couple of days the itching stopped and within a couple of weeks my skin had healed totally! I've been without the mites for around 18 months but just recently they have flared up again in one hand!!I've treated with bleach again and it is going but cant understand why they've come back!!?? I'm not promoting the use of bleach but it worked for me.. but I dont understand why they've come back.. any help?

How did you use bleach? Baths? Bleach Baths do not cure scabies.

Duct tape helps.
I was at the point of crazy. I thought if ducktape will get rid of warts, maybe it will smother them. I doesn't, but it does relieve the itching some. I thought it was a crazy thing, but my son pointed out i can now scratch without cutting my skin. It was really helpful. I think mine are amost gone, I just took the 2nd dose of ivermectin. IT's odd how it makes the rash go away. It also makes me itch more. I wasn't itching before I took it today, but now i'm itching like crazy and I feel like they are crawling on me.

What soothes them. A bath in bleach sooths them and stops the itch. Mixing baking soda with lotion seemed to get rid of them. I thought they were gone but that I should take one more dose of ivermectin and now i'm itching like crazy again.

So this is what i've done that past week, and I really thought they were almost gone.
bath in epsom salt (this made my hair really soft) and bleach. Used salt as a body scrub. It really scrapes and scrubs. After the bath i rub fugus cream, bactracine, vasoline and lotion mixed with backing soda on.

Even though I'm itching again, the rash on my wrists is almost gone. It is really odd how it does that. The first time i put on the permetrin cream the itch stopped immediately. Even though I dind't itch that much. Also the rash on my wrist noticibly went down.

The odd thing about the poison cream is that before I used it ans was diagnosed, i itched, but not like crazy. Just itched and had this annoying marks on my legs. it's so embarrassing, i couldn't wear shorts. I went to many dr.s, they diagnost it as exyema and told me not to scratch it, that would make it worse. After I used the permithrin cream, though it soothed the initial itch, I then started itching like a mad person. It could feel them biting me and crawling on me. I didn't feel any of that before the cream. In fact, I think i had it for about 10 years. So maybe it just woke them up , i don't know.
the other odd thing is that they are only on my extremeties. From the elbow and the knee down. Only on the front of my legs. I don't have them on any of the fatty parts of me. They are on my wrist big time. and ankles. no where else. Well, wish me luck. It's been horrible. I do think that if you stop treating yourself and start pampering your skin, the itching will stop and they will start to heal.

1. However you can (electric hair razor), get your hair off of your arms, legs, chest, whereever the scabies are.

2. Run in place for however long it takes for you to open your pours with sweat - scabies do not like sweat and you need your pores open for the next step.

3. Bathe 30 - 45 minutes in hot water with in clorox bleach (1.5 cup fulls) and borax (1 cup) and about 20 drops of tea tree oil. Whenever you feel an itch, scrub the area with straight clorox on a towel. The scabies reside just under the skin and this kills them.(Your skin may burn a bit, but only temporarily and you are killing them.) When your skin burns, just suck it up as you are killing them and you need to do this! After bathing, get out of the tub slowly as you should be able to see the scabies along the sides of the tub near the water line. Go slowly as you do not want them reattaching.

4. Drain the tub and get a flash light and you should be able to see the small scabies on the bottom of the tub too. Wipe these up and flush them down the toilet. Then, get tea tree oil and/or diluted clorox (I used clorox fir the first 3 days then tea tree oli) and put it all over your bites and rub it in. Next, get the sulfur powder and mix it with vaseline to make a cream. The texture should be just a bit caky. You should be able to smooth this all over your body before you go to sleep and you should not itch. Also, take a benadryl. Get a good nights sleep. Awake in the morning and repeat it. Bath at least 2 x per day.

5. You need to get prescribed the permeatherin %5 cream and us it asap. This stuff works pretty good and combined with the above bleach/tea tree/sulfur treatments you will kill them. The first night I went to be (on my white sheets), I awoke to see them all over my sheets. I used a wet tissue to collect them up and flush them.

6. You need to attack these things like you have never attacked anything before. Fight the urge to feel sorry for yourself. Pray and know that God will help you through it and will be your salvation, but you have to help Him help you by doing the above.(I just rubbed clorox on my stomach again and it burns, but it kills them too and my doctors told me that clorox will not hurt me). It is like swimming in an overly clorinated pool.

7. Finally, if you can get invermitcen prescribed then get it too!

Get a doctor's prescription for Stromectol aka Ivermectin, dose is based on your weight, i.e., I weigh 230lbs so I took 24mg. One of the women on this forum was taking 33mg, a higher dose. Just don't underdose.

Buy Advantix II Blue for extra large dogs, it has 40% Permethrin and rub it all over your body, scalpe to the soles of your feet. Don't bath for 8-14 hours.

When you do bath, take bleach baths! Most people here use 7-9 cap full of Clorax bleach in a tub full of water. Soak in it for at least 25 minutes. Buy Sulfur soap online ar at Walgreens and lather it up all over your body, the mites hate it and come out of their holes and die. If the sulfur soap doesn't kill them, the bleach water will!

Many people here have tried all sorts of stuff to be cured but the only absolute remedy is taking oral Stromectol tablets based on your weight, on a empty stomach with lots of water, every other day. And apply Advantix II Blue all over your body every day for at least 8 days. You must be in a mite-free environment. Either do extreme cleaning where you live or stay in a different motel room every night while you are on this treatment regime. For severe cases you may need to be on this regime longer. the pills are expensive, you will probably need 150 pills to cure and for post cure treatments. You can get them free of charge through the Merck Prescription Assistance Program. But your doctor must agree to fill out the necessary paperwork. Your doctor shouldn't give you are hard time about the prescription because these are for anti-parasitics, not sedatives or pain pills! Stand your ground with your doctor, most of them don't know how to cure you. And it can take up to three months to be cured. So be unstoppable, don't give up! Many people have been cured. Now get to it.

Tea Tree Oil, Clove Oil, Neem suppliments, sulfur soap, bleach baths alone do not cure. You cannot cure without taking the oral drup stromectol with the topical drug Permethrin 45% from Advantix II.

Some doctors use the old treatment regime of 12mg of Stromectol aka Ivermectin once every week for two weeks. This no longer cures. the mites are resistent. You must take the dose based on your weight, and take it every other day for at least 8 days!

I had done the advantix, the clove oil, the oral ivermectin, permethrin, about every poison I could find for scabies as well as all the natural treatments. I used horse paste as a topical and it seemed to be working. Then I came across the Durvet Pour on ivermectin for cattle. I had read studies that were done with topical ivermectin, and there was......I believe it said a 100% cure rate. So at this point, I am willing to try anything!! I used it straight out of the bottle as well as mixing it with some DMSO, as I read thar DMSO takes whatever you apply to the skin to the bloodstream. Since the advantix had cleared most of my scabies, except for my legs (infested for a long time) My main concern was there. After the advantax treatment my legs broke out with burrows, etc. When I took a shower, I was certain not to contaminate the rest of my body with the scabies. I had gotten the Durvet in the mail and was excited to try it. It worked. It has been a few weeks and I have no new breakouts. I am praying that won't! I have been boiling and ironing my clothes, threw away my bedding, Plastic on my mattress, bought new shoes, had my carpet steamed cleaned 2 times. Sprayed everything with mite spray and wiped everything down with bleach water. Car too! This is something I had done before. I can only assume that scabies were deep under the skin of my legs. The rest was easy to cure as it was surface scabies. The Durvet doesn't leave your skin puffy, dried, pealing, or thick! In a 250 ML bottle you have many applications. 10 ML for a 220 lb person. Although that wouldn't cover a whole body. I would imagine that your skin wouldn't absorb 100% of it. I applied it to my legs 2 days in a row. The 1st day straight, then reapplied with DMSO. Second day applied it straight, waited a day and on the forth day applied it straight. After that any questionable areas I spot treated every few days. I have no ill effects from the ivermectin. My legs are clear now....as well as the rest of me. I hope it stays that way, only time will tell.
i have had scabies for a 1 year and i get about 3 new nodules about every 2 days. Me Too, how many were you getting a day? to everyone...for how long have you had scabies and how many nodules to you normally get?

Hi itcher, what worked for me not necessarily will work for others! I was reading around the forum and came accross this, maybe it will work for you.

ATTENTION: GO to Dollar Tree, baby department and Buy for $1.00 Baby's BUTT AID!
Mom was diagnosed with Norweign Crusted Scabies in June 2011. Hospitalized in July. Then August on intravenous antibotics for the inflamation from the mites. Seen by 3 specialists, various hospital staff-2 different hospitals, and 2 dermo drs. She is allergic to them! This mite seemed immune to all the creams, lotions and oral medications used on Mom. We tried nearly everything known to man. Caution was the approach because of her age 87 and her weak immune system. First, we purchased a steam cleaner and did everything not washable. Everything ws washed and cleaned daily! Then an exterminator in 3x. Tossed out furniture, beds and treated everything, clothes and everyone in contact with her.
Unbelievable for 3 months poor Mom. Went to Dollar Tree to the baby section to find a diaper rash ointment. Reading the label of a product called "BUTT AID" it had 16%
zinc oxide (white stuff on the lifeguards nose)
and boric acid. This was being sold for babies, so for $1.00 I tried it, first on myself then on mom. Then did a test patch on her healthy skin-it was okay. So I put it first on her leg the worst place in less than 4 hours I saw a visible improvement in the redness. We are now one tube a day for 8 days (2-3 applications all over!) and she is almost completely clear. Thank heaven.
FYI I am an appraiser and don't work for Dollar Tree or any business associated with this product.

Do they look like skin colored wart like bumps? I had about 12 of those and they are finally going away. I read on this forum that 2 different guys had the same thing and he went to a derm and had one opened up, one had dead scabies and eggs and the other was a reaction the skin had to treatment. I thought mine were incubator like breeding areas as they did itch. I got mine after the clove oil and advantix treatments, but they still itched. After the durvet ivermectin the itch went away and now my bumps are going away.
After numerous perm treatments through the yrs, the scabies would go away only to come back after a few months. Back then, I had a few of those bumps...one on each leg, and they would itch every once in a while. So I had come to think that maybe they were like a place where eggs could hibernate. Anyway I have no itching now, and after all the treatments I did, the bottom of my feet are still a little numb, my legs are discolored where the main infestation took place(calves)and feet. I have a few bumps, but they don't itch and they seem to be getting smaller and some disappeared all together. I pray that they don't come back. Every once in a while I will get an itch or prick, but I look and nothing is there on my skin and it goes away.

Hi Victim & everybody, I luv that spam-free web site that's going to so cool! I wish they would monitor this site better but I guess it's too hard because it's not just about one topic, anyway, I have been comming here for 3 years, several times I thought I was cured, I even posted (too early) about my cure, I should have waited a month before posting because they eventually come back, but in my oppinion there is one cure, but the problem is if you don't continue treatment daily they seem to build up a tolarance to it & any other treatment actually, and that was my problem, I started with clove bud oil then a few days later I got Cellulitis it is caused by a type of bacteria entering the skin, usually by way of a cut, abrasion, or break in the skin. Group A Streptococcus and Staphylococcus are the most common of these bacteria, which are part of the normal flora of the skin, but normally cause no actual infection while on the skin's outer surface. I ended up in the hospital for 6 days and didn't bring my clove oil but because of my deep tissue infection I don't think it would be wise to have used it then, anyway..., I guess this gave the mini-MF'ers time to build up resistance to the clove oil and now I'm still having to battle these creatures, but the clove oil does work, 3 members of my family got them and the clove oil worked to cure them right away and they are totally scabie free, and here I still have them, lol, I do hate the way the oil feels like it's burning and so I tend to skip treatments, so that doesn't help! And I have tried everything except the weird treatments put on here by spammers, I hate the spam here!!! I have found that lysol professional spray works to rid them in carpets, chairs, couches, cars, mouse pads..... just use it nightly before going to bed every night for like a week or 2 and I just luv the stuff. Oh, and you people using bleach, I hated that so called treatment cause the smell is so bad, but you can get clorox lemon bathroom wipes and just use them whenever you feel the need and it works just as well as the soak. And tea tree oil "professional strength" works so well at soothing and relieving the itch, I'm not sure if it cures, but I found alot of relief using it. By the way, try hard not to pick and scratch, it just helps them to feed easier, they don't drink your blood they drink the clear fluid in your blood and if you scratch your helping them with the digging and the clear liquid shows up then, I think it's called serios fluid, I'll need to do more research on that. I've been doing research for 3 years now, I could write a book about these F-ers! Luv ya & take care everyone ;)

I just found this about the clear fluid I was refering to;
I was working on a yard project the other day and I ended up cutting myself with a utility knife. It was more a puncture than a cut, pretty deep but not very big. Anyway, the weird thing is that it didn't bleed. Instead, this clear fluid oozed out. What was that clear fluid?

Assuming that you are not a space alien of some sort, the clear fluid that you saw was lymph. Apparently, when you cut yourself you did not puncture any sort of blood vessel, so you had a rare opportunity to actually see your lymph!

One of the amazing things about lymph is that we all have it but we generally know nothing about it. Your entire body is soaked in lymph and there is a whole lymph vessel system that is just as complex as your blood vessels!

Every human has a heart, arteries, veins, blood vessels and ultimately capillaries. Blood carries many different things to the cells, including:
•Oxygen (blood also picks up carbon dioxide so it can be exhaled)
•Proteins
•Glucose
•White blood cells (to find and eliminate bacteria, viruses and other foreign materials)

Capillaries flow past cells but do not actually connect to them. What happens is that the clear, watery blood plasma -- containing the oxygen, proteins, glucose and white blood cells -- "leaks" out through the capillary walls and flows around all the cells. The pores in the capillaries are too small to let red blood cells through, however -- that is why lymph is clear rather than red. All of the cells in your body are therefore bathed in lymph, and they receive their nutrients and oxygen from the lymph.

Somehow, all of this lymph has to end up somewhere, so it is recirculated. The lymph capillaries and vessels pick up the lymph fluid and start pumping it away from the cells. Lymph vessels do not have an active pump like the heart. Instead, lymph vessels have one-way valves, and muscle motion pumps the lymph. You have just as many lymph vessels and capillaries as you have blood vessels and capillaries!

Lymph in the lymph vessels eventually reaches a lymph node -- there are about 100 nodes scattered throughout the body. Lymph nodes filter the lymph and also contain large numbers of white blood cells (a big part of the immune system), which remove foreign cells and debris from the lymph. When you get certain infections, the lymph nodes swell with billions of white blood cells working to clear the foreign cells causing the infection. The filtered lymph then flows back into the blood stream at certain points.

One thing this explains is how a shot at the doctor's office works. The fluid of the shot is injected into the lymph, not the blood stream. But eventually it makes it to the bloodstream through the lymph system

bleach worked for me and a few others on this forum. U can knock it all u want but if we r cured and u aren't, maybe u should rethink it. Its does smell bad but it works. I used tea tree oil as well and trust me, that smells worse. I can't honestly if it was the bleach, the tto, or the combo of both that cured me, but either way, it worked.

I have read much or some of what you guys have written and all the different things you are doing to try and get rid of your scabies. I had scabies for years until I started using sulfur soap. Mostly I had scabies on the back of my legs but they were more or less all over sometimes I could feel them on my face, I did not like that. They drove me crazy, it was horrible. Than I discovered sulfur soap and more generally sulfur, sulfur powder, sulfur cream. From the moment I started using sulfur I knew I had the cure, and I did. I used the 10% sulfur soap it worked very well but I also made my own soap using sulfur powder, diatemaceous soil and liquid soap citrus, dr bronners. It worked I no longer have scabies they are gone. It is a great relief. If you do use sulfur work it into the skin and leave it on as much as possible. As much as possible is a key phrase. Good luck.
