Get the dog treated, more than once!Ivermectin injections if dog is NOT on Comfortis, is easiest. WebMD admits that people can get canine scabies for more than the "couple of nibbles" everyone refers to. Finally, in writing, from "authorities".
Get your immune system checked out, bloodwork. My Vit. D was really low & that made a difference. You're not the only one who is suicidal, but this forum has given me hope and information.

Hi needpeace...your situation sounds similar to mine. I have had scabies for 7 months now and have tried everything medications and natural remedies. No one else in my family has caught this only me Thank God. I am now trying the Advantix II treatment but my scalp is infested and still feel the crawling and movement up there. Do you have any suggestions for treating the scalp? It has to be something strong enough to penetrate it.

I can tell you what worked for me...Dawn Dish soap. I put it on my dry hair before I get into the shower, and I also put it all over my dry body, it's fast drying on the body, which I think is good to draw out the eggs. Once in the shower I use a bath brush on my body and my finger tips to scrub my head. Then I rinse well and the next step is that I shampoo my hair again but this time with Head and Shoulders men's menthol (refresh)( I've read it goes deep in the the hair follicle. I've read these scabies don't like the menthol smell(I think that's true. I get bit less when I use anything menthol). Then I rinse well again and put Loreal deep conditioner on my hair (the one in the black and gold plastic bottle. You can get it at Walmart) I sort of massage that into my hair ( I have long hair) then I rinse again, then I'm done. I get out of the shower and dry my hair with paper towels (a tip I learned here...saves a lot of washing and drying of towels) Then I pin my hair up and let it air dry for the next few hrs. 12 hrs later I do it all over again.( every day I do this 2xs a day, no matter how late it us or how tired I am..I make sure I do this. I had bad itches on my feet to start with and I sure don't want that on my head. So far I've done this for 5 days now and no itches on my head.Mind you my head itches were never bad, I caught this early. Bran0406 helped me and told me about Dawn dish soap and how it had helped her family. I also read several other posts on how Dawn dish soap helped others. I'm not a bath person...I prefer showers. Some people like to take baths with Dawn and soak for 20 min or so but I prefer my method. It works for me..BTW I think it's really important to do this every 12 hours...for several days. Also when ever I do feel a slight itchy I immediate slather on hand sanitize which is 62% alcohol. I get mine at the 99 cent store. I like theirs because it has other things in it to condition the skin and it stays jelly like for about 5 min, which is really great when you are putting on your hair or a specific spot on your body that you don't want it to drip. One last thing that I do that helps is at night I put Vicks Vapor Rub around my hair line and sound my ears and a bit on my nose and other spots that I sure don't want these things to get to...it seems to work for me. I've also tried Arid x Dry deodorant spray all over my body and hair after my shower and that too really helps keep these little varmints away...(PS get the yellow can...it works better than the blue can) Good Luck..let us know if this works for you too...if you try it.

I forgot to add...I also take 2 OTC allergy pills a day, some times 2xs a day. I buy them in a big bottle from Costco. They are the same formula as Benadryl, but way way cheaper.

Well I just finished my night time shower and hair washing and there are a few details that I realize now might be important to some people. So here they are::
1st When I 1st put the Dawn on my dry hair, I put a lot on, My hair looks like it's all lathered up in suds, but actually it's all Dawn and no water.
2) When I get out of the shower, I do 1st put hand sanitizer all over my body and if I feel an itch on my head, I also squirt some hand sanitizer on that spot.
3) after the hand sanitizer drys (which is almost immediately) I cover myself (not my hair, but my body) in 1st cold pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Also I put it on my face, in my ears (with a Q tip), and with a Q tip, a bit around the opening of my nose. The Olive Oil I use I bought at Walmart and it's made in California. It's not imported. also rub a little bit of olive oil all around the hair line and into my hair just a bit.
4) I keep a small bit part of a paper towel rolled up into a point and on that I drip a little 91% Alcohol. Then when I feel a little crawlie tingle on my face, just dab at it with the Alcohol...and presto..the crawlie tingle is gone!
5) Then, just on my body and face I put Alveno hand lotion. Yes, I'm rather greasy by then....but it smothers the varmints! So that's good in my book!
6) I get dressed for bed and I wear long sleeves, socks, and leggings. All that is exposed on me is my hands and my face.
7) About every other time I shower I spray my bed and the floor around it with Arid X Dry deodorant.
8) Last when I put on the Vick Vapor Rub around my hairline, I also put it around and in my ears, on the edge of my nostrils and around my private parts where I sure don't want any varmints to get to!
9) Last, I smear a bit of Vicks Vapor rub on the outside of my socks (that was where I was most bit up in the beginning), around my wrists and just under my chin.
10) Lastly, this is somthing I no longer need to do, but if you have the itches really bad, you might want to try this.....it really worked for me....that is take a cutting (say 2") of an Aloe Vera Plant leaf and smear that cut leaf jelly on your itches. Keep doing it for 5 -0 20 min. I di that and it totally stopped my itches and most didn't come back and the few that did come back, I just rubbed on more my Aloe Vera Plant leaf cutting and that was the end of my itches...that was a few weeks ago and the itches have not ever come back any where near as bad as they were when I 1st got bit up.
I think that's everything. I hope it helps. If anything I post or anyone posts helps anyone, Please come back and post and let us know what worked, so we can all help others from this awful suffering.

I very much want to kill myself. I can't even look at my body so much as my hands because there is scabies marks all over me. I haven't been to the doctor and I couldn't make an appointment lately and it's driving me to insanity. I have people coming over and I try to make them stop because I'm upset that I'll ruin their lives with scabies just like my cousins did when they visited. I hate my life and I want to die. I've been depressed and suicidal before scabies and now it just drives me more towards the attempt. I have meltdowns and start crying uncontrollably whenever I think about my hands spreading the itch mites all over my house and items I waste so much money on. I can't even sleep at night because of these itch mites. I tried the cream before and it did absolutely nothing since the doctor didn't mention how to get rid of it around my house. It may sound silly or stupid, but I honestly just feel like I can't do it anymore and I have to kill myself. There's no other way..

Hey Alex,

hang in there. The treatments are working. It takes a while for your skin to come back to normal on your hands especially.

One of the hardest aspects of treating scabies is the slow recovery process of your skin, it seems futile and plays with your mind.

Once you begin treating you mite count in your environment is extremely low. To help me mentally I stopped putting my clothes in plastic bags, this helped a lot. I also always washed my stuff in cold water and laundry liquid....I quit worrying about my environment and this helped. I kept treating to be on the safe side which made everything worse on my skin.

Once your main lesions are going/gone you will see the beginning of the end. But it is slow....so hang in there.

.greetings, i also felt as you did Alex at one point.
This is what worked for me:
oral 400mg albendazole tabs, from online phar-macy w/no perscrip needed

golde nmeds24.com/

FYI i do not work for them. they have a good service though.

i took 2 tabs per day for 4 days so 800mg/day. then a follow up the next week. it was quite cheap to buy from them, but it takes about 2 weeks to get to the states (from India). eat lots of fatty food with each of the doses.(french fries and cheese etc.)

i had ridiculous 'mystery scabies' all over my hands but oral albendazole worked great and its just a matter of popping pills then cleaning house.

yes right now I am I' had scabies on and off for probably 2or 3 years now and I can get rid of them I've easily spent over a grand trying to get rid of them doing exactly wag the doctors say. I'm homeless because of a rough patch finding work and my friends family has been letting me stay. I had thought them gone but my friends three year old and I both are starting to show signs of them again and it's no doubt he got them from me.

Please don't do anything drastic. You are not alone. I know how horrible it feels to have these mites, but just hang in there. We'll find a way to get rid of them for good. God Bless You!:-)

have had mites on&off for a few years, they are falling out of the trees at times&am able to rid myself of these parasites in my pores with a sauna or steam room. stay in there for as long as you can then go get some fresh Air&then go back in there repeat as necessary. you may have to do it for several days in a row to get all that are going to hatch out of you.be sure to hydrate, alot of sweating& dont forget about reinfestation, be very diligent about washing your clothes&bedding&throw away pillow&put clean clothes in plastic bags&seal. hope this helps!!

Ive gotten scabies a few times over the past years. Why does this keep happening to me. I cant sleep or eat or even sleep in the same bed as my husband not to mention the toll its taking on our sex life which ultimately effects the relationship not to mention its completely embarrassing and disgusting. Sitting up everynight by myself crying till I fall asleep on the couch. It has made me so incredibly depressed no one will ever understand unless they have been through it & to answer the question yes I contemplate only every other minute but will never bring myself to do it even though I cant live my entire life suffering on and off from this. Someone help me im desperate. The nasty things are ruining my life.
