I am african American biracial & fair skinned with black freckles on my face and I have scabies too. My I was unsure of my prognosis becuase I could not find a picture of anyone on the Internet of African American with black dots as myself. I can show u a picture if my skin if that would help

Hellllo. So I'm a scabies noob, fortunately. I was diagnosed based on symptoms onMonday morning. Since then, I've vacuumed like mad, alcohol and lysol'd everything, washed sheets twice, bagged up pillows, sprayed shoes and vacuumed. I also left most items outside on my balcony overnight in 29 degree weather.
I applied permethrin Monday around noon and last night, after obsessively checking myself, I notice black/brown specks just under the skin on my hands. WHAT IS THIS WEIRDNESS?! Is it dead mites? Fecal matter, eggs? I just want to make sure this is normal. Anyone have any insight?! I appreciate any help and thanks in advance!

First of all I hope that everyone here is vacuming constantly, spraying lysol, and avoiding contact with their bed and all contaminated items. I sprayed my bed with lysol and put painters plastic sheets over it. I sleep with one blanket and a pillow and wash daily. I avoided all clothing and towels that I have touched.( This included shoes) luckily I wear sandles and have a variety. Everything you touch is now contaminated. Take extreme measures and you should be ok. Use tea tree oil and lotion to make a paste. Apply for three days after showering. Do not rinse. Treat it like medicine. Keep applying paste through the day.. shit just got real!!!

I think it's larvae and those sick mites coming out. I'm going through it too. Second time. I'm experienced. Tea tree oil and a lotion mixed as a paste should help you feel at ease if you think the cream isn't enough. Worked for me.

wow, i can't believe some of the stuff i'm hearing about lame doctors. i went to the doctor today to see if i had scabies. the doctor told me it sounds like it MIGHT be and gave me a prescription of permithrin (2 doses in case the first treatment doesn't work).
she said we would start there and if it doesn't clear up then we would look for other possible causes. i guess i got lucky in finding a good doctor. she also said its really common and she sees about a person a day who has scabies. so i don't know why doctors act like it can't be scabies, it's not a rare thing.
i also had tiny black things surface from my body after I applied the permithrin. mostly under my breasts, which is one of the places they say scabies like to live. i don't know what that means but i take it as a good sign - dead things or fecal waste?
i feel better already. its midnight and my feet are not stinging me crazy. unlike a lot of people, i am not getting itching but rather a biting sensation. i hope its scabies and that the permithrin clears it up.
i am also washing everything and cleaning everything down. does anyone know what's best for a good furniture and floor cleaning of these mite? amonia? borax?

Not sure, I read borax and water in a spray bottle for furniture. Never really cared for an Ikea couch but now I'm SO glad because the covers are all removeable. So I wash in Borax.

Just wanted to add something I just tried. A shop vac with a crevis tool right on my skin. My entire body head to toe. I'm using it with the sulfer soap 10% and epsom salt bath. Still finding lots of debris after the bath, so I brain stormed and thought why not try using the shop vac. It can't hurt. After a bath the debris seems to be closer to the surface of the skin. It's helped with the itching so far this evening. Desperate measure I realize but hey what else are you gonna do?

First thought it was bird mites.
Doc arrived at conclusion based on circumstance of an isolated incident handling a wild bird.
No.
They went on too long for that for that particular exposure.
Then scabies.... O.K. Ivermectin and homemade 5 percent permethrin cream.

Knock it down but then there are those black things and the sting.

It's to those black things that sting when they come out.
And I caught one of them coming out on the palm of my hand before I moved on to the scabies mode of thought.
10 power lighted magnifying glass.

All the carefulness with rubber gloves, bagging, washing, vacuuming, spraying 91 percent alcohol, spray down of floors, walls, bedding, furniture with cypermethrin......

4 rounds of iver and 3 of permethrin.

I bought a 60/100 microscope from Radio Shack.
10 bucks.
I used the 10 power glass to locate black specks.
Picked them up and put them on a strip of white paper using a toothpick tip.
Used a roller ball pen to point an arrow to spot on paper as a guide when using scope.

Well, well, well.....
I wasn't prepared for the, "things," I saw.
Not at all.... and yet, maybe just a tad.

Not in Kansas anymore.
Go to a doc tomorrow.
Will ask for a referral to a dermatologist and a double up script for Kwell.
Off to the horse store/stable for some equine iver.

What those dots turned out to look like under the 100 on that scope were.... well.... not in Kansas anymore.

Will be doing some extra heavy praying and meditating.

For Sure.

When I get to the dermatologist I am not going to say what I saw under that scope.

I'm going to hope/lead that he uses a dermascope.
And takes some scraping for a microscope.

It would be nice if those, "things," were the body getting rid of poisons, debris.

It's been a rough ride.

Well the plot has thickened somewhat.

On the way to the doctor.... actually... there it was a nurse practitioner.... all the way it felt like there was something on the surface of one of my eyes.

Thought I might have scratched the surface in my sleep.

Then it felt a bit better.

On the drive home it felt like something was in my lower eyelid.
I thought loose eyelash, but no.

Got home. Peeled back lower lid.
There is a black dot in the tissue right up against the eye.

Tried to pick it out with a piece of twisted tissue.
Tried washing.
Washed eyelids as well with q-tips and baby shampoo.

Still there.

Put some drops in to make it feel better.
It does somewhat but I can still feel it in there.

And those 100x of 5 black dots..... What did they look like?

Some of those Morgellon's pics that are on the net.

Three had two black globes with the stringy thread. One had more....
As far as threads... some were more densely packed.... others not so much... had unraveled a bit.
And there were very small colored fibers on the surface of the skin as well.

So you are right cindilu.... an infectious disease specialist...

And if this thing doesn't resolve itself with the lid... an opthamologist.

Say some prayers, please. Thank You.

I'm staying remarkably calm.
I'll be praying and meditating today for an extended period.
And trying to catch up on some sleep.

Very trying but I'm about burned out on distressing.

Garlic, turmeric.... and a couple tubes of ivermectin.

And, prayers please. Much appreciated.

During this ride, reading a number of places, it seems some have scabies but it gets diagnosed as something else.

And some are having trouble with something else and it gets diagnosed as scabies.

I'm a broke joke as far as money.

If I had some, I'd be hunting down the best specialists in the area.

As far as indigent care, it is very limited here.

God will have to help.

I just got my tube of perm today and I bathed in bleach water (light bleach) and put on my perm cream all over. I have washed my bed sheets several times and washed everything and cleaned my flor with borax and bleach.
My question is if there's any scabies on my bed and I just put my perm cream wouldn't it be safe to go back to bed so any mites that are on the bed come eat the cream and just die? Or am I just using to much imagination. Note I've only had scabies for a month, and got diagnosed two days ago when the bumps were starting.
My next question is it a good idea to apply permethrin and go for a jog.?

If you are worried about getting reinfested, DO NOT USE YOUR BED when there are live mites from the night before in your bed. Buy an air mattress and use that or cover your bed with heavy plastic and clean with rubbing alcohol or bleach water. If there is no plastic cover on your bed, then the mites will imbed themselves into the mattress and as soon as you go to bed at night, they will hunt for a host to survive, and that host would be you.
The movement and carbon dioxide emitted from your body, will trigger the mite to move and find you, their host, their number one buddy to live off of. Your body also emits pheromones that trigger the mites to you. Remember, mites need a host to survive and multiply. They cannot live long off the host. They are parasites.

Best thing to do is to go for a jog and then apply the permethrin cream. Don't go for a jog until 24 hours after you apply the permethrin cream. Keep the permethrin on your skin for about 20 hours and then wash it off. Apply the cream to any areas that have been washed, like your hands, if you wash them throughout the day. Reapply to hands thoroughly. Hopefully, the physician prescribed more than one tube. You will need several refills, especially, if you are only using permethrin. Some mites are resistant to the permethrin cream. Good luck!!

I am not sure what you mean by seeing all the black stuff come out of you. Because scabies mites are microscopic. Unless you have another type of mite that is larger than a scabies mite or unless you are using a microscope. The "sh*t" the doctors give you us 5% Elimite Permethrin cream and it is very effective for treating scabies.
Sulphur soap and bleach baths may not cure you of "black stuff coming out of your skin."

I want to share the name of a product I just found, accidentally. I have severe fibromyalgia and was just told about Topricin. It is a pain relief and healing cream and is sold on health food and vitamin stores.
I have been dealing with this horrendous scabies mess since June. I've used all the $$$ stuff the doctor has prescribed with only temporary relief, at best.
I had just decided that perhaps an infectious disease doctor might be helpful when I bought the Topricin for my pain.
Guess what??? Woke up in the morning to DEAD BUGS all over my skin. Went into the shower and washed/scrubbed them off!! I use it all the time and continue to find the debris that I wash off. My skin has been a horrible mess and it is finally healing. This is the best it had looked in five months.
Some of the other benefits of Topricin is that you can use as much and as frequently as you'd like. It takes away the stinging pain for hours. It has no odor and the cream base really helps repair the skin and keep it soft. If helps to slough off the dry scales that accumulate.
This stuff has been a miracle for me. You can still use the Perm treatments from the doc and this in between for an extra boost.
It is about $25 for a four ounce jar, but it does not take much since it really spreads on easily.
Please try it. I think you will be happily surprised as I was. It is homeopathic and like I said in health food or vitamin stores of you can also get it online.
Good luck!!!

I checked on the ingredients of this med and it contains all homeopathic ingredients. Which will do absolutely NOTHING FOR YOUR PAIN OR SCABIES MITES. Homeopathic meds do not cure scabies.
Here are some Amazon reviews and it didn't help people with their pain. If it does help you, then it's because YOU BELIEVE it is helping you. Other than that, it's snake oil.
