Has anyone tried Kwell's shampoo? My exterminator told me about this product, but have not tried it. I started treatment like most, with Permrthrin 5% solution, then on to ivermectin after the cream failed me. I still have the mites, and i think I've read about all the literature available on scabies. we have ask heard about the human itch mite, but dammit, i had no idea they would take over my life. Help!

You are lying. You cannot kill Scabies in less than eight (8) days! The only true cure for Scabies is a prescription from your doctor for Stromectol aka Ivermectin, and the topical Advantix II Blue which is for dogs and has 40% Permethrin. The oral Stromectol dose is based on your weight (230lbs=24mg) on a empty stomach with lots of water every day for 8-days. Likewise rub undiluted Advantix all over your body scalp to soles of your feet two or three times a day for 8-days. Some people leave their infested living space to stay at a different motel room every night to avoid reinvesting themselves, others managed to clean and vacuum enough to create a Clean Space. Follow these instructions and you will be cured once and for all. I am very disappointed the people on this forum are all over the map with recommendations of unproven remedies by creams, oils and soaps. DO NOT BE MISLEAD! The time you waste on these unqualified remedies only serves to allow the mites to reproduce and spread the infestation over your body making you more miserable and the problem harder to cure! Yes, the Stromectol tablets and Advantix II Blue are very expensive but combined they are the only absolute cure! You can buy Advantix II Blue at Petsmart or online at Petmeds.com . This is not a spam, I had a severe case of Scabies and tried most of the remedies mentioned on this forum but they didn't cure me, in fact, I wasted lots of money and my condition became worse. Doctors, even Infectious Dicease Specialists do not know how to cure Scabies. I saw eight doctors and was mislead every time. I am cured and do not need to be here but I want to help you because no one helped me!
I am sorry to hear you went though so much before you got this cure.. May I ask how many pills you took? I have a client whom is going through the same problem and has gone to the doc. with no luck.. I have bought him soap with 10% sulfur..have had him take salt baths..and have bought him the Nu-stock for him and his poor dog who also has problem. So if you Please let me know how many pills you took would help..thank you and have a wonderful day

klingmac92,

Kwell's Shampoo is a nasty pesticide. Read the story about this boy and his family.
http://www.headlice.org/jesseproject/jesse.ht...

You should also stay away with anything with Lindane in it.

You should try a more natural solution first before applying any pesticides.

I have never dealt with this before so I don't know, all I have is my experience and indeed I did get it from my cat. Now it could be that this particular invisible little mite species cannot complete their life cycle on humans, if so then I am dealing with a case of continuous reinfection and I need to kill the mites at their source. One look and my doctor said scabies, and many folks out hear on the Internet disagree with you, some sources are very credible, which leads me to believe there are different mites and certain ones can be passed from cats to humans. As I said mine are not that bad, but I don't want to find out if it gets worse. I have well water hear and though it is filtered you can still smell sulfur in it and perhaps it has slowed these mites down sense sulfur is poisonous to them.
For those out their who are interested I found a cheap alternative that may help, FOOD GRADE freshwater Diatomaceous Earth, but one caviate: Make sure it is food grade, not pool grade(pool grade is poison as it has other chemicals added to it). I am providing this website because I will be a customer of theirs come payday, but I am in no way affiliated with them, just passing along information that may help. Make sure you read the FAQ there as well: www.earthworkshealth.com .
Wow!!! Lots of posts on this thread concerning diatomaceous earth, which does absolutely NOTHING for scabies!!!

Ivermectin is prescribed based on your weight.
If you weigh 150, you remove the zero off the end and you would take 15 mg. That's 5 of the 3 milligram tablets. This is only for one dose. You will need a few more doses of ivermectin to effect a cure. Please go see an experienced dermatologist who will treat you with both permethrin and ivermectin. The dog should be treated with ivomec. And needs to see an experienced vet. In my experience, the revolution/selamectin does not work as well as ivomec for the pets. When I say EXPERIENCED DOCTOR OR VET, I mean this. You should talk to their receptionist first and ask how they treat sarcoptic mange and/or scabies. Ask if they will prescribe this med. If they don't prescribe this med, move on to another doctor. Print out the Center for Disease Control information on treating scabies and take it with you to the EXPERIENCED dermatologist.

...Use your Permethrin 5% first according to your Doctors instructions. Maybe twice. Get the pills along with that if you can to use along with the cream. Ask your Doctor for them. Clean house as usual except for EXTRA VACUUMING,(and always dispose of vacuum bag immediately outside of residence). Also spray all mattresses, carpets, rugs, couches, and chairs with a mixture of 1/2 Alcohol and 1/2 water and let dry BEFORE vacuuming. Those persons who dn not have a severe case of "crusted scabies" will not have many Scabies mites in the household environment. Really, they are not there. Also, wash all bedclothes and clothes in Borax, and very hot water. Always use high heat when drying in dryer. With Scabies, treating the PERSON...the skin...is the most important thing. Clothing is essential...and bedding. Just spray and vacuum house before treating with the cream and pills. Also...a good way to treat along with or WITHOUT the cream is to bathe in one teaspoon of hot tub chlorine for at least six to eight weeks. This is the dry hot tub chlorine that is sold for use in hot tubs. Use a good moisturizer as well. A little baby oil in the tub works well. Eight weeks of that and they don't have a chance! Finally...some persons who have HAD Scabies will very quickly develop an allergy to common household mites...such as dust mites. There are more than 3,000 varieties of mites! Once having HAD Scabies...those persons who have developed the ALLERGY to the environmental mites will experience almost identical symptoms and reactions to these common mites due to a cross reactivity in the blood stream due to having had Scabies. Itching and even HIVES. But in reality these persons do not have any living Scabies mites on or in their skin. However the feces and dead mites will remain in the skin for a very long time..."the seven year itch"...Take Citirizine 10 mg. daily to control the mite ALLERGY. This is an inexpensive over-the-counter allergy med. Same as Zyrtec. There are much less expensive generic brands. Be sure to get the CITIRIZINE 10 mg. Harmless to use daily.:) Dust mites are everywhere...so don't even TRY to kill every mite in the world...lol...treat the ALLERGY!! The hot-tub-chlorine GRANULES are also easy to find and inexpensive. One heaping teaspoon per bathe...six to eight weeks. VACUUM. Hope this helps. No one has Scabies in their hair, that is a developed ALLERGY to household mites, even DEMODEX mites which are common and can be eradicated with the chlorine. Even kills eyelash mites and athletes foot. Helps to control Shingles, Eczema, and the list goes on and on for problems with the skin. Go ahead and treat the head anyway in the hot tub chlorine bathes. You can stand up and shampoo in the shower afterwards. Yours truly, Just Jeannie :)

...Scabies CAN be treated with the hot tub chlorine granules in a bath ALONE. Do some extra vacuuming. No pills needed either. Wanted to make that plain here for those whom have failed with the cream...due to environmental reasons. Take these baths for eight weeks nightly. After that persons should be looking into the ALLERGY meds. for symptoms.

...Herbs to kill parasites are Goldenseal capsules, and also Turmeric capsules. Take Garlic capsules with the Goldenseal and Turmeric capsules for six weeks. Then take a break. Not good to take them all the time without taking a break for a month or so. Do this while using the chlorine baths. This is for those whom have failed with the cream and pills the first time. Doctor WILL prescribe more cream...lol. Always another Doctor :)

Jeannie, you need to be more specific when you say CREAM that the doctor prescribes. That cream is permethrin cream. Or it could be malathion cream. Or it could be a SULPHUR cream that some of these places sell on the net like naturasil (which does absolutely nothing to help your scabies). Or it could be a home made sulphur cream using sublimed sulphur and hand cream mixed together. Eurax cream. Could be many different types of creams, including Benzemul lotion, which is a 25% benzyl benzoate and 75% inactive ingredient lotion.

When you say PILLS Jeanne, you have to be more specific. Are you talking about stromectol/ivermectin? This is the med that WORKS for scabies.

Yes, you can do bleach baths in between your treatments of stromectol ivermectin and permethrin cream, but you cannot cure yourself of scabies with herbs and homeopathy.

Try the true meds, first. And then see if that works for you.

Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle helps to keep the numbers down. Also, use hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle, too.

Add some borax to the hydrogen peroxide and that helps to keep your numbers down, too.

Good luck and have a good day.

:-)

Diatomaceous Earth does NOTHING for scabies.
Don't use it and don't waste your time on this DIRT.
It is harmful to your lungs and clogs your pores.
Also, use CAUTION when looking through websites that sell so-called scabies products. They do NOTHING for your scabies. They do not cure you and will drain your bank account. Use the tried and true meds that the doctors prescribed. That would be stromectol ivermectin tablets and Elimite permethrin Cream.

Have a good day!!!

So sir, I took your wonderful advice for a few days and stopped the "DIRT" and guess what friend? BIG MISTAKE it certainly helps significantly reducing numbers even if it is not a cure and ever since I have been using the grapeseed oil/foodgrade diatemacious earth on my feet, no new sores, so I dismiss claim that that does not help. I went to my doctor and "IVERMECTIN" while I believe it works IS NOT APPROVED BY THE FDA FOR TREATMENT OF SCABIES even though it is technically a scabicide and there is our stupid government who seems to be worshipped by the foolish masses today hard at work. Now the so called doctor offers the permethrin cream and tells me there is no "pill that can be prescribed" ok crappy doctor but you act like scabies isn't a problem. It isn't called the seven year itch for no reason. And no matter what you use to get rid of them the biggest problem is reinfestation... Well what if the asymptomatic people around you refuse to get treated? I suppose if Iwere a sociopath a tranquilizer gun could aid in me treating my environment but yeah that's crazy, and so is your simplistic approach that ignore the bigger problem of reinfestation. I am disabled have no bank account to drain on bs and limited acess to my choice in doctors so I guess if I want ivermectin I have to be an ass since no one seems to want to prescribe it. I am about to seriously consider moving to another state after I get cured just to get away from my own family (I am single so I am not referring to a wife and children FYI) who are asymptomatic and in total denial. Good day to you as well.
