Thank you Matt Lee! What is the best way to treat my cat? I am disabled and have a fixed income and therefore my cat (who is up to date on all shots and flea medicine) needs to be treated and I know it takes more than one so money is a problem as far as a veterinarian goes. To make things worse she is not the kind of cat that likes to be picked up and is only affectionate on her terms... A bath would have her freaking out so any ideas on anything that can calm her down significantly like a sedative that is safe... I don't want to knock her out with anything just get her to relax enough for treatment. I'm going to ask my vet, but if I can't afford it I was hoping there would be something safe, preferably natural that I could use. Thanks anyone and everyone!

WCrN,
Human scabies mites cannot be passed to your pets The scabies mites that cats and dogs get is different from the human mite. Scabies in pets is usually called mange, and cannot be passed to humans. If a mite goes from you to the cat, it will not live; the same if a cat or dog mite gets onto your body. Smile!:) You got off cheap!

Listen people. For me epsom salt is the answer. It works well!! I will soak in it every chance I get to make sure the hooooooorible bugs don't get in me and eat me up. The sulfur in the epsom salt kills them I believe. Please try soakin in a hot bath with the salt every night or atleast 2 nights straight. It will work out hopefully everyone. I've cried over the thoughts and pains of scabies and hopefully I am finally fiinding the light. I'm not religious but I found myself praying to god being as though that seemed like the only hope left. Love u all.

I have never dealt with this before so I don't know, all I have is my experience and indeed I did get it from my cat. Now it could be that this particular invisible little mite species cannot complete their life cycle on humans, if so then I am dealing with a case of continuous reinfection and I need to kill the mites at their source. One look and my doctor said scabies, and many folks out hear on the Internet disagree with you, some sources are very credible, which leads me to believe there are different mites and certain ones can be passed from cats to humans. As I said mine are not that bad, but I don't want to find out if it gets worse. I have well water hear and though it is filtered you can still smell sulfur in it and perhaps it has slowed these mites down sense sulfur is poisonous to them.

For those out their who are interested I found a cheap alternative that may help, FOOD GRADE freshwater Diatomaceous Earth, but one caviate: Make sure it is food grade, not pool grade(pool grade is poison as it has other chemicals added to it). I am providing this website because I will be a customer of theirs come payday, but I am in no way affiliated with them, just passing along information that may help. Make sure you read the FAQ there as well: www.earthworkshealth.com .

Dogs and cats get scabies, too -- better known as mange. However, canine scabies and feline scabies are not caused by the same type of mite that triggers human scabies. And the same in reverse. You can get mites from handling an infested pet, but these mites canít reproduce in human skin. This means they die off without causing serious symptoms.-(Source, Web MD,( http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatm... )

Lots of people in the globe have contracted skin mites, bird mites etc. from animals, there are many many cases and you can't call hundreds or thousands of people liars. Just like the dumb dermatologists don't want to believe in these cases, and would rather stand by there decades old outdated educated facts or theories. What is worse is disease specialist say antibiotics don't do anything for the mites, they must be killed by something topical, but in many cases permethrin doesn't work...Many people are suffering around the world and trying every temporary remedy under the sun to get well. So unless you find a very knowledgeable experienced derm who has treated and seem lots of cases of skin mites, if not then you are out of luck and have to see if an infectious disease specialist will help you, if a person can get a referral for one that is.

Thanks, yeah ordered some today for me and my cat from www.earthworkshealth.com . Excellent food grade and very affordable. To anyone hearing about this for the first time don't buy poison; Pool Grade Diatomaceous Earth is poison as it has other junk in it. Make sure it's FOOD GRADE Diatomaceous Earth..

Sooo, majority of this page is arguing. What a joke - This is supposed to be full of helpful information for people suffering from scabies (such as myself) and most of you would rather argue. Typical humans, you're more disgusting than the parasites that we are talking about

And yet you add nothing useful to the conversation only judge people for being human,(like yourself) who despite the complaint it seems like you would rather start another. argument. Ok whatever, so you're frustrated like everyone else. If you want to get rid of scabies go to www.earthclinic.com . And search for Ted's remedy. He is known as "Ted from Bangkok" Here are some things to look into, FOODGRADE diatomaceous earth, borax(NOT boric acid) grapeseed oil/diatameceous earth mix 75%/25% mix respectively and put it on every morning and evening after a shower... probably a good idea to skip a day ir two a week so your pores don't get constantly clogged as that can cause you to break out and you may think it is still scabies(not sure if grapeseed oil will do this, but reports of other oils without giving your pours a break are out there. Also FOODGRADE hydrogen peroxide diluted to 1% as a catalyst that helps the borax absorb into the skin to kill he eggs am larvae... some people just put the grapeseed oil. Keep in mind people can be asymptomatic and pets as well so you can keep getting reinfected... You have to take care of the source too. Do't give up and when you run across people arguing, look for the "fruit" meaning who has had good results over time, and who just seems to like arguing and running people off.... Patience. There is a time like with MSG boards so you can weed out the bad apples. Good luck and sorry I got annoyed at you getting annoyed lol.

that's bed bugs. If ever use diatamatious earth you MUST I REPEAT MUST wear a chemical mask & not one of those paper flu masks either. Also it must be left for weeks. Cockroach spray is nearly pure permethrin so if u don't have pets use it.

i agree we are earths parasite. Humans are such bigots. We point we tease we poke fun. Worst is we believe we will find an answer on a forum myself included. Iv read nearly all of them in 2months. Dogs live with fleas & are still happy but that's cos they don't need to beg to get their balls licked lol. Look guys we just have to live with this shit. Treat. Clean & live with it some more until its sorted out. Remember scabies has no ethics nor is racist about clean or dirty at least these basterds love us.(just a bit of humour so don't get all EWW offended like.

now i am getting a pain in stomach due to this disease, the pain is like someone is cutting my intestine, earlier i thought it is a intestine infection but when antibiotics didn't worked, and i was seeing blood in stools, i thought in a different way, the symptoms were showing it is caused by scabies, then i applied neem oil on my abdominal area and i was suprised it is working and the abdominal pain is decreasing and digestion is working fine.
the pain was also in urinary organs, like something is biting from inside, same kind of needle peircing pain i felt in chest musceles. i also suprised how can scabies do that.
You might have HIV. Those are symptoms.

I cured scabies in a day and it feels great. I had scabies three months ago, and just now doing some feedback. This a home way. Go to your bathroom, make sure no air can get out. Stuff a towel under the door. Turn the water all the way on hot. (Shower) turn the head so no water gets on you. The water will be extremely hot. Put a towel under the water, where the towel is extremely hot and soaked when you pick it up. Make your bathroom like a sona spray your entire body in Lysol spray or while your self with Lysol wipes, before you get in the shower. Sit there until the relieve burn stops do this twice. Then get in that hot shower, but not under the water. Pick the hot towel up shake it twice then wrap it around you and squeeze that water all over you. Put it back under the how water do that twice. Then wipe the mites off. Do this three times. Between those treatments cover yourself in Lysol spray. It will sting a little but. It kills them. After that either clean you house with Lysol or get a hotel for a week. My sister did this and she has it exstreamly bad. She repeated this four times in a week and she felt better. To fix the skins damage, Epsom salt baths work. Then apply oatmeal lotion.(: feels great to be free.(:
