Many Dermotologists are not as informed on Scabies because they look for the common symptoms and not all people have surface marks, some people have scabies under the skin and you cannot see any signs on the skin, only itching and a tiny bump as you scratch, you can actually feel a tiny lump under skin, and if they laid eggs that are growing, the lumps are a little larger. So, many doctors and Dermotologists do not keep up on the ever changing bug that is adapting. If they bring back Kwell lotion, it kills it in 2 days. I thin its time for people to band together who have this and get the FDA to reapprove it before everyone gets infected!

im stopping here, if you weigh more than 418lbs then just add on .1ml for every 11 lbs over 418lbs that you weigh. if your weight is inbetween numbers go with the dose for the next higher amount- so if you weigh 114lbs you would dose for 121lbs- not 110lbs.
Dear Andrea:

Can a person mix the ivermectin with water when taking this ivermectin injection that is used for cattle. I just took some of the ivermectin injectable and mixed it in a glass of water and I drank that water and the medicine. Is this an effective way to take the medication? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU ANDREA!i used the ivermectin 1%(unimectrin) 6 years ago when I got desperate, it was the only thing that worked then. I was better and put the leftover in the refrigerator..in 2005.
Got it back 6 months ago. Dr.s didnt believe we had it, would reluctantly give us too little permethrin, 2 tubes to treat 2 adults and a child. we were never able to put on enough, and re do in a week...always seemed skimpy.
Have been doing everything, permethrin, kerosene, borax, bleach, spraying the house, car, chairs, burning bedding, dry cleaning, hot, hot boiling water in laundry...nothing has been working...permethrin again 3 days ago, tonight was crawling and had new scars all over me...I had been looking at the bottle, but forgot how much to take, found andrea's post here, read it, got out the bottle and took it. I feel better already, seriously half the crawling feeling has stopped.
Andrea, thank you for putting that up. I almost didnt say anything, but thought somebody might benefit from hearing this. People, if you do something like this and it WORKS, please write it down, help out the rest of us. I hope this helps someone. Thank you again Andrea!!! I was literlly going out of my mind tonight, I couldn't take it anymore, I was going to just wing it and take a teaspoon.
You say don't take if have liver disease, what is someone who DOES have liver disease supposed to do then?

(posted this once already, never showed up so if' it ends up posted twice, I apologize)

KathyStone, anything you use has the potential to affect your liver, even naturals like neem and clove oils. It's a risk we have all had to decide about. Some use milk thistle to try to help reduce the risk, don't know if it actually helps or not. I use it too. You definitely need to work with a doc, and the best to you. Good ones are hard to find.

I've come back to using ivermectin after trying a few other protocols. First, I've had scabies for 2 years. My symptoms are NOT typical but I have had a positive diagnosis from 2 derms. And I've never been free of symptoms for more than a day...and those good days were only the days that I was covered in permethrin. Wash it off, and the itching and bumps were right back almost immediately. They never stopped so it was never post scabies. Did all the cleaning, etc.

This thing has always responded to ivermectin/permethrin for me. Just not enough though to be cured, but enough to have a "light" case and eliminate most of the bumps, blisters and nodules. I did the 1,2,8,9,15,22,29 plan several times, no cure. Many months spent doing ivermectin/permethrin every weekend for up to 2 months, sometimes not washing the perm off for 2-3 days. Still no cure. 2 years of the roller coaster. Tried the valbazen protocol, no cure like I had hoped. Tried everything, all the natural stuff, clove, etc. No cures.

I don't think it is a good thing to use these every day and it's my opinion that it would probably cause resistance to build up. I have heard of others who were using ivermectin/perm every 3-4 days and having great results. I decided to try this at a little higher dose. My regular dose of vetrimec is 1.6 ml, so I went to about 2.1 ml, sometimes slightly higher taken in grapefruit juice usually empty stomach. Don't like the idea of using perm that often, but I like scabies even less so I did use perm with it. My permethrin is homemade from Martin's 10% perm mixed with half/half with Gold Bond lotion.

Started April 25, after 30 days end of May, I was symptom free for a week. That was huge for me, I had NOT had that ever happen in the last 2 years. My problem is that my ex-boyfriend who would not treat himself called, I saw him, and BAM... it's back. It only took about 1.5 days after seeing him to have the symptoms all come back. So kept taking the ivermectin/perm and it took about 2 more weeks but I'm once again getting that "normal" feeling again for the last 2 days (very very few, almost no symptoms).

The other thing that was monumental for me was this time I switched up topicals for the off nights when I wasn't using ivermectin. Clove, eurax, BB, sulfur, neem-big mistake, posted on another thread about it. The one thing I tried that caused me to have symptom free days was mixing powder sulfur with aquaphor. I suppose vaseline would work too but the aquaphor is thicker and mine was VERY old so probably dried out even more. I put it on one night thick head to toe, big mess, had it on for maybe 14 hours, showered the next day.... no symptoms. Used it a couple more nights but lightly, and no symptoms for a whole week (all the while I was also continuing the ivermectin/perm every 3-4 days). I had tried sulfur before that you buy online, Delacruz and the soaps. Didn't work and gave me bad dermatitis. Never tried powder with a thick vaseline substance before, and just real pleased with how it worked for me.

So right now I don't know if it was the ivermectin/perm or the sulfur mix that worked so great for me, but that's how it went. I'm not saying I'm cured because I intend to keep doing the ivermectin for maybe another month but probably with other topicals and not permethrin. I feel pretty darn normal at this point and hope it lasts. I don't post much anymore, but I'll report back long term results and hopefully I'll have good stuff to write later. Take care all.

Thank you so much for this, I have been dealing with this "plague" for several months and was getting worse. I have bought the Ivermectin at the local farm and garden and started the dosing. Hello Judged,
First and foremost I have to say that you information is amazing and I am already feeling better just reading your post. I have be suffering from this yuk infestation for seven months and like most people on here I have been like a complete mental lunatic washing. ironing. bleaching. scrubbing .deep freezing and bagging every article of clothing possible. I have been given my doctor here in Thailand (at my request needless to say)3 Ivermectin tablets of 6mg each one.. Just one question.. How often should I take them? I took one 4 days ago and didn't wash for a couple of days.. then showered with sulphur soap.. am I doing the correct thing? Thank you for any help you can give me.. Good luck to everyone on this forum

I would like to ask a couple of questions:

We had some Ivermection Prescribed by the Doctor but we didn't get rid of the scabies completely. I think it was wrongly prescribed ie not correct amount given because she just went by our body weight and this probably could have been increased.

I know that Ivermectin is really excellent from everything we have read, so I was disapointed with the results of taking it. And the consultation and the cost of the Ivermectin came to over 500.

We have this scabies condition in our hair, WHERE IT SAYS EVERYWHERE, IT DOES NOT GO IN YOUR HAIR!

We have lost so much of our hair - a 3rd of our hair and it is still coming out. We have tried every natural remedy known to man + bleach.

I read with interest your Invermection dosage, but I am not sure I totally get it. I feel a
little nervous.

andreaamericangirl wrote:
there are so many people commenting here that they dont know how much ivermectin to take and so on. i have cured myself of scabies two times with ivermectin. i have had scabies 3 times in 3 and 1/2 years because i work in close contact with the homeless in san francisco and there is a very high infestation rate among them. i started out begging a dr for a prescription for stromectol but realized that was getting me nowhere and i was losing precious days/weeks trying to convince her while the scabies were reproducing and getting worse. i decided to take matters into my own hands and bought liquid ivermectin injectable meant for cattle and swine- the brand name i bought was noromectin made by norbrook. it is 1% ivermectin. you can use that brand or any other brand that is 1% ivermectin. the dosing for humans is the same as the dosing for cattle! im not a kook. ive taken it 6 times now- 3 times one week apart for the first time i used it and then when i got infested again 9 mos later 3 times one week apart for the second time i used it. you want to take it once and then again 7 days later and then again 7 days later. 21 days- once a week for 3 weeks. dont take it if you have liver disease. take it on an empty stomach and take at least 8 oz of water with it. when you do put something in your stomach a few hours after taking it try eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice- it helps the ivermectin work better. you will need a hypodermic needle and syringe to draw the liquid medicine out of the bottle with. in many states/cities that are progressive and have a good attitude towards making hypo syringes avaiable to the public to decrease HIV and Hep infection you can buy a single syringe at a walgreens or other drug store- this is true of NYC and san francisco just walk up to the pharmacy counter and ask for a syringe. it costs about a dollar. if you live in the bible belt or some such place, you can get hypo syringes at any feed store or livestock supply store- they are marked "for veterinary use only" and are there for anyone of any age to buy. order online from www.farmandfleet.com if you have to. you can get your ivermectin from them too. the marks on the side of the syringe tell how many ml are in there. the smallest syringe is a 1ml diabetic syringe and that is what you will get when you ask for a syringe at walgreens in NYC or other pharmacy. it is broken down further into tenths of a ml with marks for that too which are represented by .1,.2,.3,.4,.5,.6 etc up to 1.0 which is a whole ml. the syringes from farm and fleet and other feed stores etc are bigger and hold usually 3 or more ml and are marked off with lines for each .1.2.3.4 but those numbers arent on there just the full ml numbers are so there will be nine marks with no number next to them- like the minute marks on the face of a clock then a 1ml like the 1 hour is marked by a 1, then nine more marks then a 2ml and so on. stick the needle thru the rubber top of the bottle and then draw up however much your dose is into the syringe using the numbers and marks on the side of the syringe as a guide.

there is a test that the vet can do to determine that.
Ivermectin is used all over the world to treat river blindness and scabies.
Call around to see if any derms in your area treat with this med and make an appt.
Let the doc know all your sypmtoms etc.
It just may be that you are suffering from other ailments besides just scabies.

you can also use the ivermectin horse paste wormer which is cheaper than the liquid because you get less. make sure there are not any other medicines in there like praziquantel or any other active ingredients. follow the dosing guidelines for horses by weight- ususally you can only measure it off by 250lbs sections, so for a 250lbs dose, a 500lbs dose, a 750lbs dose, etc but you can split it by using a childrens oral syringe- which you can buy at walgreens or any drug store for measuring liquid medicine for infants and toddlers. first measure out 250lbs worth of paste wormer using the notches on the tube it is packaged in. then suck that amount you just sqeezed out of the tube up into the oral syringe, then squeeze out of the oral syringe in fractions by using the marks on the side of the oral syringe. one half of the total dose for 250lbs is for 125lbs, one quarter is for 60lbs., three quarters is for 185lbs, try to break it down using the marks on the side of the oral syringe to get it as close to your weight as possible. this is why the liquid injectable is better- its easier to measure out accurately but if you cant afford $25-$30 and can only afford $6-$9 for the paste then dont be intimidated, just do your best to measure it out a accurately as possible and remember that the pills that are made for humans smallest amount is 3mg so that if a doctor prescribed it to you, it wouldnt be as acccurately measured out as the liquid injectable anyways and that 1 3mg pill represents about 30 lbs of body weight so even a doctor prescribing the pills would not be able to get your dosage closer than 30 lbs from your weight- i.e. if you weigh 135lbs the doctor would have to prescibe 15mg which is for 150lbs or 12mg which is for 120lbs because there is not a smaller mg pill to get the dosage more exact than that. same for a person who is 160lbs- again the doctor would either prescribe 15mg for 150lbs or 18mg for 180lbs so being that exact is not neccessary otherwise they would make a 1mg pill. one final opinion of mine, if this is the first time you are taking ivermectin, i think you should be very close to an emergency room just incase you have an allergic reaaction of some sort. if you live within a few minutes drive from a hospital well then just make sure you have someone on hand to call 911 or drive you there if need be and if you are a loner like me or if you live way out there in the country and are kinda far from a hospital, it cant hurt to drive to the parking lot near the emergency room entrance and take your first dose sitting in the car nice and close to that door. better than dying of a severe allergic reaction while your loved one is trying to get you to the hospital on time. they would never suggest you do this if they prescribed it to you they would just give you the perscription and send you home to use it, but at least this way they cant say how dumb you were to try taking some medicine that is meant for cattle or horses if you do it 200 ft from an emergency room entrance door. hope you all get cured of scabies as fast as i did the 2nd and 3rd times i had it after i discovered that ivermectin was the easiest and fastest way to cure myself.
I want to know what I should order for ivermectain pull forum ? Also can I take it while breastfeeding ? I have been dealing with scabies for over 6mths and have tried 7 treatments of perm , sulfer soap ,tea tree and neem I clean like crazy I have left my house for a week on two occasions I have used RNC spray please I have been trying to find the right doseage for weeks and am so confused I can't seem to get a clear answer . Lynn: i used one dose of the paste and never got sick. athelmintic and boticide are not ingredients, they are descriptive words for what the paste does...as long as the only actve ingredient is ivermectin, you should be safe. I was lucky enough to get ahold of pills before i had to do any more doses of paste so I cant tell you how many doses of paste is safe...the brand i used was Farnam Ivercare, smelled like paint but didnt bother my stomach. Good luck, and if yu get ahold of pills, just so you know, I took 6 doses a week apart to get rid of my scabies!
