It was the animal strain, I got it from my pig. Its just regular 1% ivermectin. I've been dealing with it for a month and a half. And I know, I'm making extra sure and spacing all the medicine out correctly. And thanks for the support!

Okay guys..updating with very good news. I have been orally taking about 1.2cc of ivermectin 3x a week apart and taking 3 cephaelexin pills a day for a week. Simultaneously with permithern 2 times a week apart. I do not have scabies anymore!!! It cleared them right up, all that's left is faded scars from where I've scratched. and my pig is clear too! You can buy these things in places such as tractor supply. I work within the vet field and honestly highly recommend what I did because I'm finally better and I dont have to lay and itch at night anymore. I hope you all find a cure and feel better!
Hi Megan...can you clarify how many times a week you took the injectable. Do you mean every 3 days and did you take the medicine with food or without? Thanks.

I didn't use an injectable its oral so I just put a little bit of orange juice in a cup and the ivermectin and drank it. I took it once a week for 3 weeks

you can also use the ivermectin horse paste wormer which is cheaper than the liquid because you get less. make sure there are not any other medicines in there like praziquantel or any other active ingredients. follow the dosing guidelines for horses by weight- ususally you can only measure it off by 250lbs sections, so for a 250lbs dose, a 500lbs dose, a 750lbs dose, etc but you can split it by using a childrens oral syringe- which you can buy at walgreens or any drug store for measuring liquid medicine for infants and toddlers. first measure out 250lbs worth of paste wormer using the notches on the tube it is packaged in. then suck that amount you just sqeezed out of the tube up into the oral syringe, then squeeze out of the oral syringe in fractions by using the marks on the side of the oral syringe. one half of the total dose for 250lbs is for 125lbs, one quarter is for 60lbs., three quarters is for 185lbs, try to break it down using the marks on the side of the oral syringe to get it as close to your weight as possible. this is why the liquid injectable is better- its easier to measure out accurately but if you cant afford $25-$30 and can only afford $6-$9 for the paste then dont be intimidated, just do your best to measure it out a accurately as possible and remember that the pills that are made for humans smallest amount is 3mg so that if a doctor prescribed it to you, it wouldnt be as acccurately measured out as the liquid injectable anyways and that 1 3mg pill represents about 30 lbs of body weight so even a doctor prescribing the pills would not be able to get your dosage closer than 30 lbs from your weight- i.e. if you weigh 135lbs the doctor would have to prescibe 15mg which is for 150lbs or 12mg which is for 120lbs because there is not a smaller mg pill to get the dosage more exact than that. same for a person who is 160lbs- again the doctor would either prescribe 15mg for 150lbs or 18mg for 180lbs so being that exact is not neccessary otherwise they would make a 1mg pill. one final opinion of mine, if this is the first time you are taking ivermectin, i think you should be very close to an emergency room just incase you have an allergic reaaction of some sort. if you live within a few minutes drive from a hospital well then just make sure you have someone on hand to call 911 or drive you there if need be and if you are a loner like me or if you live way out there in the country and are kinda far from a hospital, it cant hurt to drive to the parking lot near the emergency room entrance and take your first dose sitting in the car nice and close to that door. better than dying of a severe allergic reaction while your loved one is trying to get you to the hospital on time. they would never suggest you do this if they prescribed it to you they would just give you the perscription and send you home to use it, but at least this way they cant say how dumb you were to try taking some medicine that is meant for cattle or horses if you do it 200 ft from an emergency room entrance door. hope you all get cured of scabies as fast as i did the 2nd and 3rd times i had it after i discovered that ivermectin was the easiest and fastest way to cure myself.

I agree with what Katee is saying. We tried about everything possible, but it only prolonged what I had. After two straight months of taking ivermectin pills, I believe I am done. Tried all this other stuff in between and beforehand, but I didn't see much for results. The cream did nothing for me, so I went on to the invermectin pills. Had to buy them out of India because local doctor's would not give me a prescription for them. If you can use both the cream and the ivermectin, that should do it. My issue with the cream was, the tubes are very small, and don't cover the body well of anyone over about five foot six. I explained that to the doctor, but she acted like I was crazy. We tried the cream 3 times with not much luck, although it did slow them down. As time went on, they were back in full force. Also, the cream is sometimes hard to disperse all over the body, especially in your hair if it is long or thick. Good Luck! I personally believe the pills is what did it for me. My scabies lasted about ten months!
hi can u please give me the address to the site where u bought both of them in India? Thx a lot

I agree with you. I explained to the dermatologist that I had it twice before. He told me that I would not develop symptoms for 4-6 weeks. Symptoms show up within 24 hours if you have had scabies
before! This is a Specialist! I have spent thousands of dollars on useless Dr. appointments. The family Practice doc called in permetherin 1 %. Its supposed to be 5 % and is known to be resistant. This was scabies 101; VERY frustrating!

Hello! I work at a vet clinic so I got some there. You can buy them in stores I'm not sure where or order them offline, they're just an antibiotic that helps with secondary skin infection and I had it pretty bad. If you were prescribed permethrin cream I would definitely go to tractor supply and get ivermectin I just checked today you can get some for $36. You'll need to buy a needle syringe so you can draw it out of the vile. Its based on weight, I took 1.2 cc (ml) since I weigh 124lbs. It should say on the syringe the measurements, put it in a cup with something to drink cause it tastes bad. Take it once a week for 3 weeks and put on the cream. If you manage to get ahold of cephalexin take it twice a day for 7 days should be 500mg a pill. I really recommend all of this to everyone. I feel so much better. Some people get hives from cephalexin though. It even cleared my acne up. I hope this helps everyone! Any questions just let me know.:)

im stopping here, if you weigh more than 418lbs then just add on .1ml for every 11 lbs over 418lbs that you weigh. if your weight is inbetween numbers go with the dose for the next higher amount- so if you weigh 114lbs you would dose for 121lbs- not 110lbs.
I have a question, my daughter is 3 and weighs 31 lbs would I give her between .2 and .3? Would you even suggest I give this stuff to my child? Please help!!

I would use .3. Always round up. And that's strange, I'm not sure why it wouldn't work. It should be noromectin 1% ivermectin. With ivermectin being the active ingredient. How are you taking it and are you sure you're doing the correct dosage?

No do not give iver to a 3 year old. They are too young. Permethrin should work. Take her to a pediatrician and get your script and pay the money. Their blood brain barrier is not developed enough to use iver. Discuss any questions with her doc. Do me a BIG favor, dont believe half of the stuff you read on this forum.

Thats the exact one I've used. Dos-aging I don't know. I am up to 3 ml now and I weight about 170 lbs does that work out right?
I was doing like 1.5 going by the chart at the beginning of this thread.

. Hmm I'm not quite sure what to tell you :/ it should be about 1.5cc not 3cc. I would just keep using it. I'm not sure how long you have been. You could be free of scabies, sometimes it takes a few weeks to clear up bc your skin is still reacting to the feces they've left behind in you. Or it could potentially not even be scabies. I hope you've seen a dermatologist (they're SO much better than doctors and actually know a thing or three about scabies.) You could even have them do a skin scraping. That's what I did to myself.

Meghan...why were you on an antibiotic? Was it because you skin was infected from scratching? Please let me know.

Thank you! I really wouldn't even give her that stuff. I just might want to try it myself if I can't get rid of this crap. I feel like they're on my scalp and doctors think that's bogus but I'm pretty darn positive they are because I scratch and scratch my head and my face all the time and probably just spread them there. But doctors won't give me a prescription for ivermectin unless my symptoms are terrible. Ugh!

Just thought I would let everyone know that I have finally FREED myself of scabies after 8 MONTHS of battling. It would have been resolved within two months if I had treated myself as though they were in my scalp to begin with. PLEASE TREAT AS THOUGH THEY ARE IN YOUR SCALP AND DO NOT GO THROUGH WHAT I DID!!!! It took four months for my head to start itching, and by then I had run myself dry financially fighting them on my body and had to wait a couple more months to get insurance to see a doctor. Luckily I found one who gave me FOUR DOSES OF IVERMECTIN. I took the first three doses a week apart and the fourth dose two weeks after the third - I meant to do four doses a week apart but was too busy with school and work to do all the cleaning of my house and car that need to be done on the same day you take the ivermectin, so I had to put it off. But it WORKED and I have been free for a month now. I only just last week was sure because my feet and hands are still itchy - but I went to a dermatologist and he said I have fungus on my feet that spread to my hands from putting lotion on my feet. I haven't itched anywhere else for a month so it makes perfect sense. The fungus is from keeping my feet covered 24/7 to control contamination of my carpet in order to avoid infecting my son, and wearing gloves for up to 8 hours at a time at work to avoid infecting my client, who is disabled and would suffer TREMENDOUSLY if he contracted scabies. So, again, PLEASE TREAT YOUR SCALP AND FACE! After I realized they were in my scalp and started treating it, they spread to my cheeks, lip line, and eyelids - thank God for Ivermectin and doctors who aren't too pompous to give you what you need even if they think you are crazy...
